Thus Says The Lord-Who God Says He Is, His Commandments and Promises

2 Samuel 7:12-17 But My Mercy Will Not Depart From Him, As I Took It From Saul, Whom I Removed From Before You "

A very good morning, a very good morning to you, everybody. I hope you had a wonderful and restful night and you are ready for another day with the Lord. Let us go to the Lord in prayer.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for your grace. We thank you for your love. We thank you, Lord, that this is the day that you have made. We are walking in it, we are rejoicing in it, and we are glad in it.

We thank you, Lord, for what you have in store for us today. and we desire to walk in anticipation and the excitement of a brand new day, with brand new ideas, with brand new revelation, with brand new faith for what you are doing for this day.

We bless you and honor you for the love that you have shown us over the years and that you are a safe place that we can run to, a solid rock that we can stand on. So, Father, as we come together this morning, our desire is just to fellowship with one another and to fellowship with you.

So may the Holy Spirit guide us in this moment and we pray this prayer in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen. Brothers and sisters, today we are in 2 Samuel 7 and our focus of reading is verse 12 to 17.

But what I'll do is I'll start from verse 1 until we get to the end of this little chapter here. So here we go. After the king was settled in his palace, and the Lord had given him rest from all his enemies around him.

He said to Nathan, the prophet, here I am and living in the house of Sedar while the ark of God remains in the tent. So this is what's happening here David is now king and he had now been given rest from all of his enemies and all the fighting and from Saul and all the things that it could transpire for him to be in this place now.

So now that he is king he is now settled and everything seems to be running well, then God comes and says to him, here I am, living in the house of Cedar, while the ark of God remains in a tent.

Nathan replied to the king, whatever you have in mind, go ahead and do it, for the Lord is with you. But that night the word of the Lord came to Nathan, saying now I was thinking about this earlier. Why did God not just go straight to David?

Why did He have to go to Nathan? Well, let's continue reading. Just keep that in mind. Go and tell my servant David. This is what the Lord says. Are you the one to build me a house to dwell in?

I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt to this day. I have been moving from place to place with a tent as my dwelling. Wherever I have moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their rulers whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel.

Why have you not built me a house of cedar? Now then, tell my servant David, this is what the Lord Almighty says, I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people, Israel.

I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth.

And I will provide a place for my people Israel, and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed.

Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did in the beginning, and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also give you rest from all your enemies.

The Lord declares to you that the Lord Himself will establish a house for you. When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, in other words, when you finally died, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood and I your own flesh and your own blood, and I will establish his kingdom.

He is the one who will build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be in his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with the rod wielded by men with floggings inflicted by human hands.

But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me. Your throne will be established forever.

Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire revelation. Brothers and sisters, it's not that God cannot speak to every single one of us if he has to. Truth sometimes or most times is established in the mouth of two people.

David had a desire to build God's house. It was in him. It was in his spirit but he needed confirmation from God and that was truth being established between Nathan and what was in David's heart but Nathan struck David that it's not you who is going to be responsible for building God a house.

And one of the reasons why I believe David could not build God a house is because David had killed people. Hands that take life cannot build God a house. Because remember, God's house gives life.

So, hands that take life don't build God a house. But the thing that I want us to focus on today is this. Every single person needs someone who can speak God's revelation to needs an encourager every single person needs an encourager.

Everybody needs somebody that can speak life to them not that God can't speak to you but sometimes there are things your soul cannot utter in words and hence you need another person to reveal what God has said to them that corresponds to what has to what God has put in your heart.

Now if you study scripture there's numerous times when God will speak to an individual and tell them to go speak to another individual and then tell the person who is being spoken to that I've already sent somebody you see it with Paul.

You see it with Peter, where God sent somebody, says go and tell him and he's expecting you. And the reason for that is because God has a way of establishing truth through two people.

And most times, and I will speak from this point as a preacher. Most times the only time you will know that God has used you if another person comes to you and he says you have no idea what that word you spoke today did for my life.

So that means truth is being established because there is the corresponding theory where one person is believing something and another person speaks it. And then in the hearts of two people, it is now established because the Holy Spirit is working in both individuals.

But every person, you need somebody who speaks to you and encourages you. Which also means that you yourself, you have to be a person that speaks to others and encourage others.

There has to be people in your life that are dear to you that God has placed in your life to speak encouraging words that he has already spoken to them in order to establish the truth.

So If you have been part of this Bible study group for a while now, or if you were on Bible study on Sunday, you heard Veronica and Calvin claim that Nadia is our daughter. Now, they speak into Nadia's life, and God also speaks into Nadia's life, but through them, there is truth that is being established because there are two people.

One who is receiving revelation and one God has spoken to. So it is important for every single person that not only are you receiving encouragement but you are also speaking encouragement words to other people.

Most times it's very difficult to hear the word of the Lord and then to run with it. One of the hardest things to do in life is to coach yourself. It's very difficult because it's difficult to see yourself.

So most times you need other people to see you in the way that God sees you. Which means that, when you read this story, you hear what David says. You hear at the end of the it says, Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire revelation.

So Nathan is over there, and David is over here. In the middle of the night, the day before, Nathan had come and told David, do as you will, because God is with you.

But while they were sleeping, this is why God sometimes speaks to us when we are in our sleep, because the human ego is sleeping.

Usually our ego gets in the way, and we try to make sense of what God is saying. Because this is the same man, the previous day he said to David, Do as you will. Why is he saying that?

He's saying that from experiential knowledge of things they have experienced this far, that surely God is with David. So, if God is David, David, go ahead and do whatever that God has told you to do.

But then they go to bed and in the middle of the night while they were sleeping, God comes and speaks to Nathan and he gives him a revelation. Because if God had given the same revelation to David, which he could have, the previous day David had heard, go ahead and do all that God has told you to do.

Go ahead, you can do it. David would have probably had a difficult time deciphering which way to go. But while they were sleeping, God speaks to Nathan, and Nathan comes in the morning and says, let me report to you the entire revelation of what the Lord has said to me.

That you are not going to be the one to build me a house. The house is going to be built by your next kingdom, your blood, and God. But the key thing that I want us to guess today is that we all need someone to speak to you and you also need to speak to other people.

One of the greatest rewards of being a human being is the ability to deliver revelation because God has created us for relationship. So, when you can deliver revelation from God that encourages another person then that's a blessing.

Can you be an answer to someone's prayer? Can you speak to somebody's life? Now, speaking to somebody's life demands that you hear from God, like Nathan did. This is part of, this is part of intersession.

Interceding for people is love on its knees where you have heard from God about a person and then you intercede on their behalf. I can't tell you how many times I've had dreams for people and I had to call people sometimes at three in the morning and say I just had a dream and this is what the Lord said.

A few years ago, the Lord woke me up in the night after I just had a dream and I had to call my brother-in-law in the midnight hour, Philip Thompson, and I said to him, the Lord said to me, do not love money.

Whatever you do, however I'm blessing you, do not love money. And after he picked up the call at three in the morning. And I asked him, I was like, how are you picking up? So, the first question he asked me says, how did you know that I was awake?

I was like, I don't know. I just did what the Lord told me to do. And then I told him and he starts weeping. He's like, man, I've been starting to feel that way. And then truth was established in that moment.

Because every single person needs another person who can speak to you God's revelation. And on the flip side of the coin, you need to be able to speak to somebody else and encourage another person and give them revelation.

And it comes in so many different forms and different ways. Jesus says, I have conquered the world, right? And then he says, you and I will also conquer the world. How do we conquer the world?

There's so many things that God has put in place to make sure that we do that. His spirit, brothers and sisters, that you and I, and it's part of God's agenda, of conquering that somebody is encouraging another person somewhere.

Isn't it unbelievably amazing when you hear somebody say, hey, let me tell you what the Lord said to me about you. And then it confirms what's in your heart. It's so encouraging, it's strengthening, it's empowering, it gives confidence, and it gives you patience.

Even though you're in the midst of a barrel, you could literally say, you know what? If that's what the Lord is saying, then I'm okay going through this here, knowing that there is light at the end of this tunnel.

But you have to be an encourager. Love is not love from yesterday. Love is not love until it is given. Until somebody gives. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.

And part of speaking into each other's life is love, is God's love. It's God's love on His knees. It's intercession. Where you get a directive from God through another person. So, you have to and you must speak to somebody's life, you have to.

There is too many needs and too many challenges and too much revelation for all of us that we also need to be speaking to others. And it's an incredible feeling when God uses you. Can you imagine what Nathan is feeling this morning?

This is why if you praise Nathan's life, he becomes the voice that encourages, that rebukes, that straightens up David. Because every person needs somebody who can speak to you, and give you instructions from the Lord who can rebuke, who can tell you, hey, hey, hey, hey, you're getting out of your hand now.

Get back in line, don't do that. Go over here. This is what the Lord is saying. You are worth much more than that. You can't do that. That's not worthy of your cause. We all need it and you also need to give it out.

Because it's God's methodology of conquering this world now if you look at this story right if Nathan does not speak to David what would have David gone to do? Because the previous day Nathan had told him do as you please because God is with you.

If Nathan has withheld this information and decided ah well I said yesterday to David, you can go ahead and do what you so will. David would have gotten up, and got busy, and built God a temple.

And God would have said, nah, wasted resources, wasted time, because I'm living in that. I'm going to live in the one that your children will build for me, not your hands with all your filthy hands that you killed somebody.

I ain’t living in that temple then you could have wasted time and David could have been striving to do something that God hasn't put you in place to do. This is why we need revelation this is why we also need to speak to others and give them revelation that God has given to us.

When you're in the midst of the battle, one of the hardest things to do is to hear the Lord speak. Because most times you are logically engaged. That means you are solving problems and they come with logic.

And when your adrenaline is high, there's no telling what you can do. Most times you are working on instincts and instincts sometimes, especially in the Kingdom of God, they are not as good as we think they are.

But when somebody comes and you say, hey, let me show you what I'm looking at. This is how you do it this way. It becomes so simple and you start wondering, why didn't I think of this this way?

Because when you are involved, it's very difficult to see yourself. That's why we all need another person to encourage us, to strengthen us, to give us revelation. And that's why you also need to be giving encouragement, revelation knowledge to somebody else.

Be an answer to somebody's prayer. Be the one that answers another person's prayer. Be the one that God uses to speak truth to another person and brothers and sisters, let me say this.

Every time the Lord places a person in your heart, and if you hear it repeatedly, it means that he wants you to deliver a message. He wants you to deliver a message. So, deliver it. Let's not withhold revelation because of our own fears, or because of our own you know, desires and conflicts.

Because when you think about it, why would God even place in your head a time to just think of another person? Why would he do that unless he's trying to deliver a message to another person?

In 1 Corinthians 2, I think 1 Corinthian Paul talks about giving. He says God gives seed to the sower. When you desire to do something for God, He even gives you the seeds to sow. Seed to sow simply means that you have a desire to contribute to the kingdom of God.

And when you, once you have that desire to do it then God gives you a message or He knows that you are now available for usage in His kingdom that's all we want God to use us right?

But in order for God to use you, you have to have a desire to be a vessel that He can use. That's why once Nathan did this, that's why God continued giving him revelation for David. Even though it was difficult.

And the reason David ended up trusting the words from Nathan's mouth is because from the beginning to the end, the man always delivered the right words. Whether hard, whether soft, whether difficult or challenging, whether encouraging.

Whatever it is, Nathan delivered it and God trusted him. So be an encourager. Be an answer to somebody's prayer. And be the person that God trusts. It's easy to trust God, but what we want in this season is God to trust you with information and revelation to deliver to another person.

This is why I'm always encouraged every time I get a video or somebody sends me something or somebody reminds me of something or say, hey, I was watching this and I thought this is interesting and let me send it to you.

And in those moments, I always know God is speaking. God is saying something and in this season of my life, I've been getting a lot of those and I know that in this moment I need it. I need it.

So every person needs to be speaking to another person and encouraging another person and you also need people to speak to you. A person who lives in isolation is in direct violation and contradiction of what it means to be humans, to be a human being.

Relationship is the true essence of living and it demands that we speak to one another. But more so for us believers, it demands that God places in us the revelation knowledge that we can deliver to other people and it's all part of intersession, Amen. Let us pray.

Heavenly Father, for your blessings, we thank you. For your grace, we thank you. For encouragement, we thank you. We look to you for all that you are doing this season. Help us to be vessels of honor that you will use to encourage others, but also to receive encouragement from others.

Thank you for revelation knowledge, because it is needed in this hour, in this season. So, Father, as you continue to aid our lives and enrich them, for the benefit of this kingdom, I pray that grace abound, spirit and truth is part of our daily worship.

And I pray, Lord, that may you continue to encourage us in ways that we never expected to because you are sovereign. Speak to us in dreams, in our quiet times. Let the Holy Spirit be so loud and engaging.

Open our inner eyes, the eyes of our hearts. May they be opened to receive that which the Lord is saying. We know the hour is near and we know there are too many challenges to deal with and we need revelation to solve our daily issues.

So Father, as we continue to look to you every day, may our efforts be filled with your presence as we encourage one another with these words of the scriptures. May our lives be enriched, strengthened.

Father, we thank you, Lord, that you're giving us understanding, knowledge, and wisdom. We thank you, Lord, that your eyes are on the sparrow, watching our hearts. And I pray, Lord, may we conceive in us spiritual things that edify others.

Give us the ability to speak truth to one another, to encourage and to rebuke one another whenever we go the wrong way. We thank you for all that you are doing in our lives, for all that you are doing in our families, in our children.

We pray a special blessing for this next coming generation that God give us wisdom as parents and adults to speak to the next generation. Revelation knowledge so that they are thoroughly equipped to deal with the challenges they are facing.

We pray for grace to abound for our families, for strength. And Father, we declare and decree a season of miracles, where needs are being met, where revelation knowledge is in abundance, and wisdom and understanding and knowledge is part of our daily routine.

I pray, Lord, that as scripture is read, let it encourage the true essence of who we are. May our soul grow and continue to unite with you and be healed from previous and past mistakes.

I pray, Lord, for our workplaces, the people that we engage and meet. May they feel the presence of God because you are sovereign. Now we ask you, Lord, as we go through this day, to give us our daily bread and to lead us not into temptation, but to deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever, Amen.

Brothers and sisters, may the Lord bless you. May the Lord continue to equip you and may you be an answer to somebody's prayer, as somebody is being an answer to your prayers. Encourage somebody, encourage somebody.
