Thus Says The Lord-Who God Says He Is, His Commandments and Promises
"1 Thessalonians 5:17 - Pray Without Ceasing - Friday Morning Prayer"
A very good morning, a very good morning to you, everybody. I hope you had a wonderful, restful night. And today is Friday, and as you all know by now, if you're joining us for the first time, Friday, we are taking Fridays as a day to just pray for one another's needs and to remember each other in prayer.
So that we continue fostering the idea of community, of coming together, of the body of Christ. So today, we have Mother Carrie, who is going to lead us in prayer for, you know, for all the prayer requests that have been sent in and I want to say this before she starts, brothers and sisters.
Mother Carrie is about 82 years wise, which means that she's a mother of faith, mother in faith, and she's been in faith for a very, very long time. And any time you have a mother in faith and no faith, pray for you, it's a great honor because they have endured a lot.
And she has seen a lot and experienced a lot. The changes that have taken place in this country, she was all part of it. So her faith has endured and I believe that when you walk with God for a very long time you know you kind of become Abraham.
You know God's friend so we are honored today that she's going to be praying for our prayer requests and needs and then I'll come back and close for us Mother Carrie you can take it away.
Thank you Pastor Zee and I want to say something about, just before I start with my prayer, I want, well, first of all, I want to say good morning to all my sisters and brothers who are on the line right now.
But I want to say something about what Pastor Zee, has spoken about fear and we, you know the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge well not only Pastor Zee but look like every time I turn on the radio or television.
Every minister was talking about fear and that took me back to my, when I was a little girl well I have to tell you about what happened preceding this to cause all this. My brother, older than me, was in the fifth grade.
And I don't know if you all knew, but at that time, when the teacher walked out of the room, she would ask somebody to take names. So my brother put his head on the desk, and he was very quiet.
And the little girl that was taking names, he said, that she liked him, but he didn't pay her any attention. So she was trying to get back at him by putting his name on the list as those who had been unruly while the teacher was out.
So when the teacher came back, it was her custom to spank everybody whose name was on the list with the ruler, whatever they had back in that space. And so he said, well, no, he had not been talking.
He had his head on the desk. And all the other kids in the class said no. And so the teacher said, well, his name was on the list, and he was going to get a spanking too. So my brother said, no, he was not going to get a spanking, and she attempted to spank him anyway.
And he grabbed her hand, and in grabbing her hand, I don't know if he did it intentionally, but he broke her, broke one of her fingers or something. Anyway, she had to go to the doctor and everything.
And so when she came back, she wanted my brother to get some days put out of school. And the professor said, well, the other kids say he was not talking and he wouldn't put him out of school.
So, she got angry, and she said, well, his little sister, me, I was going to be in her class. Well, back in the '80s, they just had two classes. One, you were in one or the other, and she was going to make sure that I was in her class.
So, she was going to get back at me because of my brother. So, a fear had gotten in me, and my mom said, well, no, she was not going to do that. She changed me, and I went to the seventh Adventist School, because there were only two elementary schools in Huntsville at that time.
And I went to Winston Street and West Clinton Street was way on the other side of town. And by the time I got there, I would be late. So, I went to the seventh day and finish school. And still a little intimidated and still afraid, I was sitting there.
And that school was just a one-room school. All of the students were in the same room. And there were not a whole, I guess about 25. Anyway, but all of them, first through the eighth, not the eighth grade, from first through the seventh grade was in the same room. Well, there was a girl that was in there.
She was a beautiful girl, had long, pretty hair, but she was a bully, and she beat up all the kids that were in that school. So, I noticed her just watching me one day, and one of the other kids said, she's getting ready to beat you up.
Well, I was ripped more with fear at that point because I didn't want to fight her. So the school was so little, you had to bring your lunch. They didn't have a lunch room or anything like that.
So I would stay in and eat my lunch in my classroom and the other, well the teacher and the other kids would go outside, have lunch outside under the tree. And finally this boy came in and told me, said the teacher said that I couldn't stay in the classroom anymore, I had to come out there.
And this is where wrong fear, I mean, it was terrible. I went outside, afraid that she was going to jump on me, and I jumped on her first. I grabbed her long hair, threw her down, and just beat her unmercifully.
And I can remember now, the teacher saying, nice girls don't fight, nice girls don't fight. But I just beat her, as I said, unmercifully. And so the teacher and other kids just pulled me off of her and I went back in the room.
But for the rest of that year, she didn't fight anybody else. And she certainly didn't fight me because I guess she thought I was a mad girl. But anyway, the wrong kind of fear can make you do something ungodly.
And that's what, you know, when I heard the ministers talking about fear, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. But then that made me look in the Bible for more examples of fear the terror of God in Genesis 35:5.
Well, it talked about Jacob, you know, and his brother, he was on his way back and was going to meet his brother and he was afraid. That was fear that was not he was afraid that because of all the wrong things that he had done, that his brother was going to do the same thing to him.
So he separated the families. You know the story. And then there is another example of fear. In Leviticus 26:36, there was so that again where people had not done what they were supposed to do.
And they were afraid of the enemy and the Lord fixed it so that even the falling other leaf made the enemy think that there were a bunch of horses and you know it was more people than some the war Israelites in their world.
And there are several examples of fear when it's not necessarily, and sometimes it is necessary to be afraid. Like if I see a wild coyote or anything in the wild that might attack me, it's necessary that I sort of get myself in position to hide myself from that enemy.
So it's important to have fear because to walk out and say, I'm not afraid of no coyote, I'm not afraid of no fox, or I'm not afraid, you know, sometimes fear is necessary. So I appreciate those sermons that I heard on fear.
And I heard some that were saying that fear of the Lord was not it just meant that the Lord was awesome in the Lord well in that particular instance it might have meant that but it's normal for humans to have fear and that's all I need to say about that.
I'm going to pray now and you pray for me and I'll pray for you and one thing about it I did not have the kind of telephone that I could see all the requests that were on the wall for prayer.
But I'm going to do a generic prayer for all of us and I'm hoping that that will suffice. Dear Lord, we're just grateful to have the opportunity to come and pray with our sisters and our brothers and just to know that you are God.
You are God of everything and because of you, we don't have to fear anything unless you tell us that it is to our advantage for the fear. But sometimes we fear when there is no pursuit after us.
We think that just because we walk out that we don't have any worries at all. But as Christians, yes we do. We should worry because we know Satan wants to attack us. Satan wants to attack anybody who loves the Lord.
Satan wants to put, if everything is going smoothly with you and everything is going nicely with you, then you are not. Satan doesn't have anything to worry about. You are his already. He attacked those who are servants of the Lord, who love the Lord and was do the Lord's biddings at all times.
And Lord, we are grateful. We are grateful and we pray that our light will shine so that men may see our good works and glorify the Father who is in heaven. This is our prayer, Lord. Lord, we pray for our communities.
We pray for our neighbors, the ones who are in our neighborhood, there is something that we can do. If we have elderly neighbors or have sickly neighbors, they don't have to be elderly, they can be sickly, or they can have a need that we can do something for.
We can carry food, or we can carry, that we can sit with them, and sometimes people just need company. We can be there for them oh, Lord, we thank you for our neighbors, and we thank you for the leaders of our neighborhoods.
We pray for them. We pray that they will make right decisions, because there are so many things.
There are potholes in the streets. There are all kinds of problems that affect all of us. Not just one person, but the whole neighborhood. So, we pray for our neighborhood leaders. We pray for our city leaders.
We pray for our mayor, our police, because their lives might be in danger. Someone who's doing something that they have no business doing. We pray for our firemen who have to come and put out fires in our homes or in our communities or just in our state.
We pray because their lives are in danger also. So, Lord, we pray for them. We pray for our governors. We pray for our leaders of our nation Lord, we know there are so many who don't know you in the deepest part of them, in the deepest part of their existence, they don't know you.
If they know you, they would treat their fellow being and treat all of us as children of God. We know that there are some people who have to pick and chooses. They pick to choose one group of people over another group of people.
Or if it's not a group of people, they may choose the rich over the poor, or the Democrats over the Republicans. There are all kinds of choices that they make that are ungodly, and Lord, we pray for them.
We pray that they will see the light, and Lord, we pray for this whole planet, the leaders of all our countries. We pray for them. We sincerely pray for them. Those who are communists or those who are not like us in any way.
We pray for them. We pray that you would touch their minds. They will know that nothing happens on this planet that you don't know about. And we pray that someday all of us will get on our knees and just say, thank you, Lord.
Thank you, Lord, for making us. Thank you, Lord, for directing us. Thank you, Lord, for guiding us and directing us. Oh Lord, we pray for the ones who have submitted prayers, even though we can't see them, we don't know them right now.
But we pray for those we've heard about, everybody is still around. So, we pray that you will come into them and give them the strength that they need to overcome this disease.
Lord, we pray for our leaders who tell those parents not to have their children to give shots for their measles and things like that.
Because all sorts of diseases, childhood diseases that have been erased are coming back. And it's all because of policies, people making wrong decisions. help us in our decision making.
Lord, help us to make the right decisions so that all can benefit. We won't erase any group of people because they're poor, or because of their race, or because of anything. Lord, we thank you.
We thank you that you have been the God of God, you have been the light of our life. You have been everything to us and we owe you everything. And Lord, we thank you. We thank you in Jesus' name.
And we pray that the evil one will not come into our hearts and our minds and direct us from your being, because without you we can do nothing, without you we will fail. We will be like a ship without a sail.
So, Lord, we thank you. We thank you that you're going to be right here with us. We praise your holy name. We lift up holy hands to you and we say thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus, Amen. And we pass it over to Pastor Zee.
Thank you, Mother Carrie. I'll continue to pray for lift up Nadia. We thank you, Lord, for this Mother in our midst. We thank you, Lord, for what she's been through. And we pray, Lord, that there's a season of brightness that's coming, that all she has ever desired to see in her children will begin to manifest itself.
I pray, Lord, for a season of victory. Your Word says you are close to the brokenhearted, so we know you're close to Nadia. We thank you for Analia, Henry, Russell. We pray, Lord, especially for Henry, that God, may you mature this young man.

Sustained victory even in no sicknesses and disease. We pray, Lord, that your Spirit is governing this home. And we thank you, Lord, for this family that you have placed in our midst, that has become family, that God, in due season, we will experience the full goodness and mercy of your hand over Nadia, Russell, Henry, and Analia.

We know, Lord, that most of his children, nieces, nephews, they are Muslims. I pray for the peace of God in their heart of Nina and Sarge, to know that this God we serve is more than capable and able to bring salvation at every single person's doorstep and his desire to see everybody saved.
So, I pray Lord for tainted beliefs to now fall off so that this God will become their portion. Pray for grace pray for salvation for this family and thank you Lord for rescuing Sarge and now we pray, Lord, that as he continues to fulfill the mandate that you have for his life, may grace abound.

Father, we pray for Chad B, for his grandson Sultan, that broke his arm. Father, we know it can be scary dealing with broken bones, but God, I pray that healing as it comes, may his arm be restored to full functionality.
And I thank you, Lord, for peace of heart, of knowing that God is a healer. And we pray even for Chad, the desire to run to God, knowing that in spite of all the medical advances that have been made over the years, that we can still lean on God.
I pray, Lord, for this faith to now be extended to his grandson, that healing is coming and that healing is their portion in the name of Jesus. I pray, Lord, that you give doctors wisdom to fix whatever that is broken and that this hand will be restored to full function in spite of the trickiness of the situation.
But I pray that God, your sovereign, that you do exceedingly abundantly for Chad B and his grandson, Sultan. Pray for Jackson. Thank you, Lord, for bringing this situation to order, this financial situation to order.
You are aware of everything that is taking place, and you are also aware of what needs to take place. I know, God, your desire is to preserve our hearts, our minds, and our souls above everything else.
So I pray, Lord, that even as this situation is being resolved, remind us to keep our eyes on you, knowing that all these things that we will hold, as good and great as they are, it's all dust.
But in this moment for this situation, I pray for a resolution to this financial challenge that's going on with Johnson. Pray, Lord, for his family. Pray, Lord, that they are walking in victory, that angels are around them, helping them on this journey.
