Thus Says The Lord-Who God Says He Is, His Commandments and Promises
Isaiah 45:18-25: "I The Lord Speak Righteousness, I Declare Things That Are Right. Assemble Yourselves And Come. Draw Near Together, You Who Have Escaped The Nations."
Good morning, good morning everybody. I pray that you had an incredible phenomenal weekend, and that your night was restful, and we are ready for another week, another day with the Lord.
And every day that we are alive is an opportunity to bless Him, it’s an opportunity to come to Him, to fellowship with one another, to commune with the Holy Spirit. And we look forward to what the Lord has today and excitement, here we pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before you this morning. We thank you for your goodness and your mercy towards us. We thank you for all that you're doing and what you're still going to do.
We come together this morning in faith, with a clear understanding that you hear us when we pray. With a clear understanding that we are here to devote this time to you knowing Lord that you've already started this day.
You have an agenda in mind and we're just coming by behind what you've already studied today to align with it to align with you and above all else to just commune with you and to hear thus says the Lord.
So, Father, as we look at this word, as we fellowship with one another, as we commune with the Spirit, our prayer is that you guide our lives, that you give us direction in the things that we need direction in, and you give us strength where we are weak, and you give us courage where we lack it.
I pray, Lord, that this morning, may you bless all of us as we devote this time to you. knowing that your ear is attentive to us we bless you and we honor you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray Amen and Amen.
If you are joining us for the first time we are going through the scriptures just revealing reviewing and looking at where the Lord spoke and thus sayest the Lord and the reason for it is because God desires to speak to us, to give us direction, and to help us in our cause to live righteous lives.
And it's quite a great honor and benefit for us to just search what the Lord is saying to all of us through the scriptures. So we've been going through different passage of scriptures. And today we are in Isaiah 45:18-25.
I will read, For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens, who is God, who formed the earth and made it, who has established it, who did not create it in vain.
So in other words, whatever challenges that we are seeing, whatever things that this world goes through, the reality is that God did not create it in vain. He did not create any of the things that we see in vain.
Who formed it to be inhabited? I am the Lord and there is no other. I have not spoken in secret in a dark place of the earth. I did not say to the seed of Jacob, seek me in vain. I, the Lord, speak righteousness.
I declare things that are right. Assemble yourselves and come. Draw near together, you who have escaped from the nations. They have no knowledge who carry the wood of their curved image, and pray to god that cannot save.
Tell and bring forth your case. Yes, let them take counsel together, who has declared this from ancient time, who has told it from the time. Have not I, the Lord, and there is no other God beside me. It's just God and the Saviour.
There is none beside me. Look to me and be saved, O you ends of the earth, for I am God and there is no other. I have sworn by myself. The word has gone out of my mouth in righteousness and shall not return that to me every knee shall bow.
Every tongue shall be taken off, ye shall say, surely in the Lord I have righteousness and strength. To him men shall come, and shall be ashamed, who are incense against him. In the Lord all the descendants of Israel shall be justified and shall glory.
Now brothers and sisters we keep hearing over and over and over again in the book of Isaiah and pretty much throughout the scripture where God reiterates this, I am the Lord your God and then he pretty much kind of gives us his residue over and over again.
I created the earth, I formed it in the dark place. You know, he keeps saying it over and over. Even with the children of Israel, I brought you out of Egypt. This is what I have done. So now, the reason why God keeps saying this over and over again is that he wants us, you and I, and all of human race, to understand where we came from.
And I've said this before, the more you see something being repeated over and over again, is because we have a tendency of either forgetting or negating or get used to that we cease to have reverence for some things.
So scriptures were written thousands of years ago and they're still affecting us now and so when you see this repeated thing I am the Lord your God, I created you besides me there is no other when you see that it means we as humanity, we tend to forget that he is God.
Then we tend to worship other gods hence, we keep hearing this over and over and over again. Now, brothers and sisters, if you really understand all of us as a humanity, you realize how easy it is to worship idols.
It's easy. You can fall in love with something and by the time you know it, it becomes an idol. And it happens so suddenly that if you're not careful, you could literally worship a person for years without knowing you.
So when we hear this over and over, over again, is that God is trying to remind us that I created you and I created you for my glory, not for your own, not for something else, but for my glory.
But the more you hear it, immediately after that, in this passage of scripture, it says, week me. It says, I did not say to the seed of Jacob, seek me in vain. I, the Lord, speak righteousness.
I declare things that are right. So after He has told us who He is, what He has done, and what He is going to do, this is the response that He gave to us, for us to give to Him. He says, assemble yourselves and come.
Because I am the Lord God who created you. And I did all these things. Now you assemble yourselves and come. Draw near together, not individually. Draw near together. Who is being asked to draw near together?
You who have escaped from the nations. In other words, people who have now received salvation and who are no longer of this world, but of a world to come. He says, you now assemble together, assemble yourselves and come.
Draw near together, you who have escaped the nations. There is a power that God has given humanity when we come together. There is things that we will forever experience that we cannot experience individually.
And the only way to experience certain things is to come together. That's why the enemy's goal is to divide and God's goal is to bring together. Because with two or more of you are gathering, mind you, whatever you ask, our endorsed from heaven, one can chase a thousand, two can chase ten thousand, right?
So the idea that God has this is why you see certain things are coupled together the idea of God telling all of us I created the world this is what I did and I did that and I did that and I did this and I did that and I created you now come together and come.
Because it is important for us to be together because we are the body of Christ. The hand cannot say to the ear, I have no need of thee. Neither can the eye say to the leg, I have no need of thee.
So there is, there is a coming together that reveals God's character in every single one of us. I have always say, a person who lives in isolation is in direct contradiction and violation of what it means to be human.
In other words, we get to experience the power of God when there is a togetherness. The Bible repeats over and over. When they were together, the Holy Spirit was poured out. They came together in prayer and worship.
There is a coming together of humanity that pleases or reveals who God is. In every single one of us is a characteristic trait of God, because we are His, we are His children. We all are different, but in every single one of us, we carry God's revelation.
And when we come together, the full revelation of who God is, is then revealed. So, when you see where God is saying, I have done all these things, the response from you is that come together and assemble and we see this large scripture from even when the children of Israelite were brought out of Egypt.
Says I brought you out of Egypt to assemble and worship me which means when they were in Egypt they were not together, they were apart and God's desire was for them to come together and worship.
Because the synergy that is created with our togetherness reveals the characteristics of who God to us again even if you had to look at the gifts of the Spirit the gifts of the Spirit are given so we can serve one another as much as the fruit of the Spirit is given so that we can serve one another.
So the fruit of the Spirit and the gift of the Spirit are not important if they are not employed to serve another. You need patience for other people. So coming together in worship, assembling and coming together is an instruction that God has given to humanity because of who He is and because of what He did.
The real reason for salvation is so that one day we gather together and worship the Lord. Ultimately, that's the reason, us coming together and worshiping our God. So God has spoken over and over and over again about coming together and worshiping, assembling and worshiping.
So when we gathered on Bible study on Sunday, when we gathered this morning devotion, ultimately all our efforts revealed who God is. And a few weeks ago, you know, if I was talking to Calvin, and most times when you talk to Calvin, one of the things that you reiterate over and over again is the idea, is the fact that we were all once strangers.
But here we are coming together as a family of God, knowing one another. And that is the goal, to come together and worship God. And that's why God reiterates the fact that I am God.
I created you. Besides me, there is no other. I have done all these things. I created you in your mother's womb. You see this theme over and over and over again in the book of Isaiah.
And the idea is that after you understand that, I want you to come together and assemble and worship me. That's the God we serve because in assembling, it reveals who God is to us I get to experience who God is when you are present.
I get to see who God is when you are present. The greatest gift you can give anyone in the kingdom is being present, because when you are present I am going to receive the spiritual gifts that are inside of you.
Whatever God has been fixing and working in you, I get to experience that as a benefit of our togetherness. We are the righteousness of Christ, created by Him, given spiritual gifts. Again, this is the scripture says, and it says, employ your gift as you serve one another.
So coming together reveals who God is in every single one of us. So as we go out today, as we continue to live out these lives that God has given us, I want every single one of us to remember that salvation ultimately was given for us to assemble and worship our God together.
Because we are the body of Christ. We don't want to be a church that's missing parts, but rather we want to be together assembling and worshipping our Father because out of that we get a pure revelation and scope of who God is.
I was thinking in the morning, about two hours ago. It's very difficult as a parent, you know, to just deal and manage your kids. And that's only three, some four or five or seven or eight. depending on how many kids we all have.
And I was thinking about how difficult or how challenging it must be for God to deal with 8 billion people who all think differently, who are all different in their own ideologies. And we are seeing how challenging it is when people are not saved to deal together.
The greater the numbers of human beings on earth without God, the greater the challenges. We can see it. That the world was at peace when there were just maybe six million people.
But the more people are on the planet that are not saved, the greater the challenges. So salvation brings peace. Salvation brings a togetherness that cannot be found without it.
There is less peace in the world now because a lot of people have left God or are choosing not to worship God because it is impossible to come together in the spirit of God without unity.
It's impossible because the spirit unifies brings together people and wherever the spirit is there is unity and without it there is chaos. So we have a lot of chaos in the world because people have not assembled or are no longer assembling together to worship God.
So, for us, the goal is to continue and to hold on to togetherness because we are seeing what happens when people are not together. But why do we have to be together? Because the Lord has told us, I created you, I formed the earth, I made it, I established it.
I did not create it in vain, and I created every single human being on earth. And now that you know that, assemble yourselves and come, draw near together, draw near together, you who have escaped from the nations.
In other words, it says, draw near together, draw near together. So as we go out today, draw near to somebody. Draw near together and go to the Lord. He says come. In other words, come, draw near and come together to the Lord.
It pleases God when two people who have the great cause of salvation come to Him together. It shows forth God, Spirit, and unity, where the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are unified.
So join in with somebody. Praying by yourself is great. Praying with another is unbelievable. Praying with thousands of people is phenomenal. So today, the agenda draw near to somebody and go together to the Lord.
Whether be it in conversation, or whether be it in prayer, or whether be it in worship. Get on with somebody and go to the Lord, Amen. Let us pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, we look to you for all that we do. We thank you for your grace. We thank you for your divine purpose. We thank you, Lord, for all that you're doing and what you're still going to do.
As we continue to come together to worship, to divorce this time to you. We continue praying that God, you reveal yourself so strong to us. Thank you for your Spirit that has joined and unified us. We know that Paul was joined together with Barnabas by the Holy Spirit.
The Apostles and the Prophets were joined together by the Holy Spirit. The Prophets, the Apostles were joined together by the Holy Spirit. So Father, I thank you that as you continue to unify us in spirit, may you be revealed in us so strong.
Thank you for your hand that has guided us to this place where we identify one another as brothers and sisters, as mothers and fathers, uncles and aunts. I pray, Lord, that the revelation of who you are in us continue to be strong.
Continue to open opportunities to serve you. I pray for grace to abound, for peace to abound, for unity to be part of peace by. Thank you for what you have in store for us. We know nor I have seen.
No ear has heard, neither has it entered into our hearts what you have in store for us. But we are opening our hearts in faith, believing that what you have in us will enter, and we can develop the right amount of faith that's needed to run this race, to believe in you, but all for this one reason, to assemble and worship together.
Thank you for divine courage to pursue that what seems difficult in knowing that you have sent angels on assignment to guide us, to walk with us.
Father, I pray, Lord, that as we go through this day, let this Monday be a special one as we walk in anticipation and expectation of what you're going to do. As we join with another to worship or to pray, Father may you do exceedingly, abundantly more than we can ever ask.
Help us in our efforts to ensemble. Help us in our efforts to come together. I pray, Lord, that as we join in together, we're healing, wisdom, understanding, be part of our daily bread. May courage, boldness, be part of our daily bread.
Pray for wisdom for all of us as we deal with the complexity of 21st century. And I pray, Lord, that as you continue to unite us, let people arise. Let this city of light and the salt that we are never be mistaken, but God, let us shine so somebody, somewhere gets to believe in you.
Bless our children as they go to school and experience education and others. I pray for your Spirit to govern everything they do, angels on assignment, processing them from harm and danger.
And I pray, Lord, that may you, by your Spirit, continue to guide our children in all things true and in all things right. We thank you for your hand that's on our lives. We thank you, Lord, for those who have sent in our world to serve others.
Father, today, as we gather together, I pray for ideas. I pray that you bless the works of our hands. I pray, Lord, that we bless the works of the one who sent us. Give us eyes to see opportunities to serve you.
Now, as we go throughout this day, may you continue to lead us not into temptation, but to deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever, Amen.
Brothers and sisters, the word for today is togetherness, togetherness because it reveals who God is. May the Lord bless you may the Lord bless your families your children and your workplaces because you are a child of God. Have an incredible phenomenal day and we will see you to tomorrow morning.
