Thus Says The Lord-Who God Says He Is, His Commandments and Promises

Isaiah 44:1-5: For I Will Pour Water On Him Who Is Thirsty, And Floods On Dry Ground; I Will Pour My Spirit On Your Descendants, And My Blessing On Your Offspring"

A very good morning, a very good morning to you, everybody. This is the day the Lord has made. We are going to rejoice and be glad in it. I hope you all had a wonderful night. You’re well rested and you are ready for another day and another week with the Lord. Let us go to the Lord in prayer.

Heavenly Father, we thank you this morning as we come before you. We thank you for your grace. We thank you for purpose. We thank you for love. We thank you for new mercies every morning.

We thank you, Lord, that we have our ear to the Spirit and you're also tentatively looking to hear from us every morning. So, Father, as we devote this time to fellowship with one another and to commune with the Holy Spirit, our desire is to hear from you, to get direction in how the day will go and transpire.

We know already you are doing something in the day for there are people out there we have already gone through half of the day in New Zealand somewhere in Asia and we are just coming behind and Father I pray that whatever you are doing in the earth that you have released this morning.

That God we are in tune with it and we stand ready to receive what you have already started today. We bless you and honor you for what you are going to do in this particular day. Now guide us as we look at the scriptures and help us in our understanding and in our growth as we desire to grow in the knowledge of who you are.

We bless you this morning and we honor you in Jesus name, Amen. Brothers and sisters, we are in Isaiah 44:1-5. Now, before I read this passage of scriptures, there's something that I want all of us to understand.

We've been checking in the Bible, thus says the Lord, where God spoke and said something to mankind. and either reiterating some things or making Himself known. Remember, the Bible is a self-disclosure book of God's authority to mankind.

And it's through faith that we get to understand what it is, and then it's also through faith we get to understand what He has done and what He is capable of doing. So God is revealing Himself through scriptures.

So, whenever we read scripture, we are trying to get an understanding of who God is as he relates to mankind. Now, throughout scriptures, throughout the Bible, you're going to hear and see these three terms.

Thus says the Lord, and listen, and then whoever has an ear, let him hear. what the Spirit of the Lord is saying. So, three distinctive ways of hearing, but we want to examine this before we read this.

So, thou saith the Lord, wherever you see thou saith the Lord is in scripture. Most times this is used in the Old Testament. And it's a declaration of who God is. and he is divining his authority and kind of giving it to humanity thus says the Lord.

This is what God is saying. Your creator, this is what he is saying. So, it's a declaration from God that this is what it is going to be, right? And with that comes options. We can either do what He has just said He's going to do, or we can choose to do not to do it.

But when you hear, thus says the Lord, the Lord is declaring that this is what it is going to be. You have to make a choice whether you follow it or you don't. So, it's optional. But truly speaking, it's not really optional. It's optional on our part, not on his part.

On his part, this is what I'm saying, and it's not going to change. Whether you like it or you don't, this is what it is. But on your part, it's optional. You get to choose because I'm not forcing this on you.

Thus says the Lord. And the second one you will hear is whoever has an ear, let him hear. what the spirit is saying. Now whoever has an ear so in other words you can hear. You are in a position where you can hear you can hear but you really can't hear.

So, he's saying whoever is an ear in other words whoever has spiritual ears let him hear what the spirit says, so if you have spiritual ears you'll hear this If you don't have spiritual ear, you're not going to hear what the spirit is saying.

So, this really kind of stays the idea that we have spiritual ears that needs to be activated in order to hear what the spirit is saying. This is not physical ear, it's to hear what the spirit is saying.

And the only way you hear what the spirit is saying is to have spiritual ears. and spiritual ears are a divine product of God doing something in us spiritually that our ears are effectively open spiritually and we can hear what the Lord is saying.

So whoever has an ear let him hear what the Spirit is saying, then the second the last one is the last one that God says is that listen, listen now whatever you see in the scripture where it says listen it's not optional because when you think about listening right?

Listening is you are using what God has created what in to hear from him. So it's not optional. Listen, I want you to take this in. This is not optional. This is what I'm saying. For example, we all have children or grandchildren.

When you really want to make a statement, when you really want to make sure that what you're communicating, and this is important, you usually say to them, listen, I want you to sit down and listen.

Well I'm I can hear you and I'm already I can only I can I'm already hearing what you're saying but now the emphasis is now listen like I'm not hearing no you are hearing but what I'm about to say is extremely important and this is not optional.

So, listen my child in other words pay attention understand what I'm about to give to you. It's not an option and as we understand, right, hearing is a physical thing and it's also a passive process, but when you really actually think about it, when somebody says, listen.

In other words, pay attention to what I'm about to say and forget everything else that you might be hearing and only hear this. So, thus saith the Lord, whoever has an ear, let him hear what the spirit says, and listen.

Now, let's go to the book of Isaiah 44:1-5, knowing what we know now. It says in verse 1, But now, listen, Jacob, my servant, Israel, whom I have chosen.

You have no option about what I'm about to say, and you have to take it in, and you have to pay attention to it, and you have to execute it. This is what the Lord says. Because they could have just started right there this is what the Lord says.

But it doesn't start from this is what the Lord says it starts from listen then it goes to this is what the Lord says he who made you and who formed you in the womb and who will help you. Do not be afraid Jacob my servant.

Jeshurun whom I have chosen for I will pour out water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground. I will pour out my spirit on your offsprings and my blessing on your descendants.

They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees flowing streams. Some will say, I belong to the Lord. and others will call themselves by the name of Jacob. Still others will write on their hand the Lord's and will take the name Israel.

Listen, you don't have an option about what I'm about to say. And then he tells them why they don't have options. I created you, I own you. I formed you in your mother's womb. You are mine.

And what I'm saying right now, you really don't have options. This is what is going to be and I want you to listen to it to make sure that what I'm saying is what goes. Then he goes on and he tells the first thing that he says, you can't be afraid.

So, being fearful is not an option for you. It's not because I am the supreme authority and I am with you and I'm walking with you. So, there is absolutely no reason for you to fear anything if you are walking with me.

So, the first instruction that I need you to pay attention to and to make sure that this is not part of your DNA is to not be afraid. Jacob my servant. Then he tells them, I'll pour water on the thirsty and land.

In other words, if you're thirsty, you're going to drink from it, streams on the dry ground. I'll pour out my spirit on your offspring and my blessing on your descendant. It's not optional. This is what I'm going to do, and I want you to listen and understand it, so that when you see something else happening, you will know that's not the Lord.

But this is not optional. They will spring up like grass in meadow, like poplar trees, flowing streams. Some will say, then after all this has happened, some of you are going to say, I belong to the Lord.

And why are they saying I belong to the Lord? Because they are realizing that they don't have an option. I was chosen from the onset, and I can't be anything, and I can't do anything.

This is who I am, and I will forever be this way. Others will call themselves by the name of Jacob. Few others will write on their hand, the Lord and we will take the name Israel. And I want you to pay attention to this, because this is what it is going to be, it's not optional, there's no debate about it, and this is what I am saying.

So, brothers and sisters, if you just stop and think how you are saved, you were probably sitting in a service where you had the message of truth. In the same service, I'm sure there were also people who were sitting there not saved just like you.

But out of that particular day, you only heard and you are the one who gave their heart to the Lord out of everybody. And then you always wonder, how come I heard and they didn't. And the answer is that when it's God speaking to you about things that when he has speak and chosen you as he has chosen you.

You really don't have an option, you don't. You end up just falling in love with him and you can't divinely speak to how it happened. But you just realize this is what it is now. So, as we study and read scriptures, let's pay attention to thou saith the Lord.

Yeah, I'm the supreme authority and this is what I'm saying. But as for you, as you hear this, you better pick me and you better choose what I'm saying. If you decide to go another way you're just going to lose that way.

And listen you don't have an option so as you grieve scriptures and you see in the scriptures where it says listen it's not optional and whoever has an ear let him hear what the spirit says.

So, in other words the spirit has to formulate and form spiritual ears in you to hear what he is saying. So, brothers and sisters as we read scriptures we come across this word listen whatever that follows after that is something that we have to abide by, walk in to the very best of our ability and to understand that what's being said is not optional.

That's what God is choosing to proclaim and he wants it done the way he says he wants it done. So, as we read this scripture today as you see listen and he goes through the list of what needs to be listened to do not be afraid.

You should not be afraid because I formed you. I chose you, I picked you. My favor is on you And this is what I'm going to do. I'm not suggesting. I'm not hoping. I'm telling you what I'm going to do with you and I want you to pay close attention to it because this is what I am going to do.

Now listen, now when you really think about it, right, who is he saying to? The people that he has formed and already chosen that are already in him. Which means you would have passed, thus saith the Lord, optional.

Whoever is in here, let him hear what the spirit says. When you get to listen, yeah, we have already gone past the first two phases of hearing. To now where it's not optional for you. That's why Jesus comes and says, I am only here to do the will of the Father.

In other words, I'm at a place now where I really don't have any more choices. because my spirit, my life, who I am, is totally given and committed to the Lordship of God and Lordship of Christ and I do not have any options.

In fact, I wish not to exercise any options because I know for a fact this way is better than any other way. You can't convince me otherwise I've already tried and done all that but now I'm in this place and I'm telling you this way is better and I'm only here to do the will of the Father.

And that's the third level of surrender. So, listen, listen, do not be afraid why? Because I picked you I chose you I formed you I made you who you are. So, as we go today as we pay close attention to scriptures as we see these listen thus says the Lord.

Whoever is an ear let him hear what the spirit say understand that when you come across listen, there's no options. Isn't it amazing how we get all our ideas from God consciously or subconsciously.

As I'm as I'm reading this I now remember numerous times where either my grandmother, my mother, my dad, or my grandfather say son, listen and you knew when they say in that manner that you're probably going to have to sit down, calm yourself down, forget everything that's happening, and pay close attention.

Because what follows after that was something they needed done, without you having any options. And failure of doing what is said after they say, listen, means there was going to be a great punishment that follows if that did not happen.

And we also knew that the moment you hear, listen, you're like, yeah, it's about to go down. I've got to make sure I am on point. Because when those words were activated, you realized it was not optional.

And it's just amazing how things that we do are just linked to who God is and how he does what he does, because we are his creation. So, I want us to go through all this day with this clear understanding.

That listen means, hey, this is what it's going to be. It's not optional, and I want it done this manner. But what's so fascinating about this is the fact that the first thing that you said is, don't be afraid.

So, in other words, you and I do not have options to experience fear because He formed us, He created us, and He's walking with us. Let us pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, we are grateful for instructions. We are grateful for counsel. We thank you, Lord, that your hand is divinely upon us, directing, shepherding, aiding us in the direction in which you desire for us to go.

We thank you, Lord, that as you continue to bless us in all things true and in all things right, may we stand in our place and in our position as we exercise that which we know you have given us as our measure of faith and authority.

I pray for wisdom to do what you're calling us to do. I pray for courage to do what you're calling us to do. I thank you for every family represented here and those who are connected to us.

But God, as you have chosen us, if there's any amongst our family members, who is not yet in this faith. We pray for open doors so they can experience the true essence of who you are.

Thank you, Holy Father, for making us holy, for you are holy. Thank you for your divine purpose, and thank you, Lord, for your statutes. Now, as we go throughout this day, bless our interactions with others, open our eyes to see things, and may miracles follow us as we continue to walk in your presence.

I thank you for all of us and all that you are doing in our single lives, in our individual lives. And I pray blessing upon blessing and expand our territory, expand and broaden our shoulders so we can carry a much deeper anointing to do and to enable us to do what you have called us to become.

As we go throughout this day, lead us not into temptation. Continue to deliver us from the evil one, for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory. forever and ever, Amen.

Brothers and sisters, may the Lord bless you and keep you and strengthen you and give you good health and may we extend the same measure of blessing to our children.

Protect them from harm and danger. And we ask all this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen and Amen. May you all have an incredible, phenomenal Monday and an awesome week. We'll see you tomorrow morning.
