Thus Says The Lord-Who God Says He Is, His Commandments and Promises
Isaiah 42:14-20 I Will Bring The Blind By A Way They Did Not Know; I Will Lead Them In Paths They Have Not Known. I Will Make Darkness Light Before Them, And Crooked Places Straight"
A very good morning, a very good morning to you, everybody. I hope you had a wonderful night. You are well rested. You are ready for another exciting day. Let us go to the Lord in prayer.
Heavenly Father, we thank you for your grace. We thank you for your love. We thank you, Lord, for all that you are doing and that you are doing through us and in us. We thank you, Lord, that in the midst of confusion, you have set us apart as light, as salt, that we are a city on a hill that cannot be hidden.
So I pray, Lord, that in these challenging times, may you give every single one of us wisdom to express the word of God, wisdom and understanding and knowledge of what you're doing in the earth, so that we can be the voice of reason, the voice of comfort, the voice of peace.
Thank you for bestowing in us the Spirit of God to walk with, to counsel, to give direction and order where it is needed.
So Father, this morning as we devote this time to you, our effort is to fellowship with one another, to enjoy the communion of the Holy Spirit, for our hearts to be knitted to what you're doing in this day, the agenda that you have set for this particular day.
So, Father, as we come together this morning, we come with gladness, hope, and the promise of new mercies every morning that we receive from you and peace in our hearts to know that all things will work together to those who are called according to your purpose and that love you.
So our job is to love you Father more than anything else is to love you to worship you and worship you alone, so today as we look into this word Give us grace, give us transformative power.
Change our minds and our hearts. Set our eyes on things that only edifies the body and give us the courage to pursue your commands in Jesus name we pray, Amen. Brothers and sisters, family, friends, um, you know, these times that we are living, if we are not careful, we will get swallowed by them emotionally.
One of the devil's strategy is to keep people busy or unfocused on the Holy Spirit. Because once we are unfocused, remember, we are existing in a kingdom that is centered mostly on us hearing what the Spirit says.
When Jesus came, he walked the earth and he established a kingdom. And the very last things that he was speaking to the disciples and to all of us, was that I cannot stay here with you after my resurrection. I have to go.
The reason I have to go is because what God has promised must come to help you, to edify you, to walk with you, to counsel you, to never leave you, to make sure that what God needs to do to make sure that what we need to do, to make sure what the Kingdom of God is all about, is executed through the gift and the aid of the Holy Spirit.
That's why Jesus said, I must go, so that the Holy Spirit comes. Now, the Holy Spirit walks in us as a counsel, as a friend, as an aid to give us direction to speak to us so which means if the Holy Spirit was given for our sustenance.
Then definitely hearing is at the epicenter of our sustenance and the devil's goal is to make sure that our hearing is not well because in order to ask God you have to abide in him. And in order to abide in him, you have to hear him in order for you to abide.
And without you abiding, there's no asking God for anything. So which means that in everything that we are doing, hearing is at the epicenter of it. The scripture says, how can they be served unless somebody what? Preaches.
And you cannot preach unless somebody is willing to hear and which means that hearing is critical to our growth, it's critical to our strength, it's critical to what we do, it's critical to song writing, it's critical to sermon writing, to planning, it's critical because without hearing you can't write a song.
Without hearing, you can't write a sermon. Otherwise, it's just your head. So hearing is so critical to what we are going to be and to do. But the devil's goal is that if I can keep you busy, if I can direct your focus to something else, most likely your hearing is going to be destabilized.
And if your hearing is not in place, then you're not going to hear what the Spirit of God is saying. And if you can hear what the Spirit of God is saying, that means you're not going to get comfort, counsel, and all the statues the Holy Spirit offers.
That's the goal of the enemy. If I can't get to you, I'm going to make sure you're not going to hear. That's why over and over again, towards the end of the scriptures, towards the end of the Bible, it keeps talking about whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit of God is saying. It doesn't say just hear.
It says whoever has an ear. So there's a lot of people that don't have ears. Hence, they can't hear but the goal for the enemy is to make us lose focus so that our hearing is not in place, or is not in where it should be.
Now, when you read Isaiah chapter 42, which is where we are today, it's really a, it's a promise, it's a prophetically promise of who the Messiah is going to be, who he is, he talks about him being the chosen servant, he's empowering, empowering by the Spirit.
And that is going to create this new pathway for us to follow, then justice for all, gentle and resolute, salvation and freedom, light to the nations, the fulfillment of God's promise, that's what he's talking about, but embedded in there, is also God's impatience with people, vengeance per say.
Now, as believers, before I go further, let's look at, let's read this portion of scripture from Isaiah 42:14-20. It says, I have held my peace a long time. I have held my peace in other words, I've been patient.
I've held my peace for a long time. I've been still and restrained myself. Now I will cry like a woman in labor. I will pant and gasp at once. 15, I will lay west the mountains and hills and dry up their vegetation.
I will make the rivers coastlands and I will dry up pools. I will bring the blind by a way they did not know. This sounds horrible. It sounds like men. No water, no pools, no vegetation, this is a drought, this is everything.
And it says here, I will make darkness light before them and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them and not forsake them. They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed who trust in curved images.
Who says to molded images you are our gods hear you deaf and look you blind that you may see, who is blind but my servant or deaf as my messenger whom I send. Who's blind as he who is perfect and blind as the Lord's servant, seeing many things, but you do not observe.
Open the ears. Opening the ears, but he does not hear. Brothers and sisters, one of the things we have to be careful about I know as believers we can be so frustrated with the way things are and what's happening that we start believing and hoping for vengeance so that people get what we think they deserve.
The reality is that when you think about God's vengeance. It's not his characteristics. God is a loving God. When you look at the characteristics of God, vengeance is not part of his characteristics. It's what he sometimes does.
But God's vengeance always leads to one thing, because it leads to love. God does not execute anything vengefully if it does not bring people towards him. Because his main characteristic is wishing that everybody, this is one of God's will, that every single person be saved.
So when you see God's vengeance, if we see it, is that ultimately it brings people running back to him. It doesn't push people away. And I'm saying this because we are going to see things that are extremely challenging, that we might end up falling into the category where we also say, yeah, that was God.
But the reality is that the devil is at work. And again, his goal is to get you and I to lose focus, so that our hearing is not where it should be. And the things that are coming, and the things that are happening, they are all designed by the enemy for you and I to turn our ears away towards worthless things.
And it's very sad, this past week, watching every pastor and preacher try to give an assessment of what took place in Colorado. And the reality is that whatever happened there, that man is done.
He has to go and stand before God and explain whatever that he stood for. And the reality is that if you could speak to us from where he is, I'm sure you would say it this way, each man, work out your soul's salvation with fear and trembling.
Don't lose focus on the Spirit of God, if you could speak to us. Because the enemy's goal is to cause all of us to lose focus, even in our passionate things even in the things that we want even things that we believe are right is to get you to lose focus.
Because if you lose focus your hearing is also going to lose focus and if you can't see what the Spirit of God is saying which is the promise of the Holy Spirit that was given which is one of the reasons Jesus had to go back. It's so that you get the full counsel of the Holy Spirit, the mind of God.
That's who He is, such as the deep things of God and even reveals them to us. That's who He says, I need to send you that. My Father needs to send you that in order to aid you in your existence and the enemy knows that.
So he's going to throw everything, especially right now, guys, especially this is why when you read scripture over and over again, it says, in the last day, deception is going to grow. Why does the enemy have to deceive us?
Because if I can deceive you, it means that you are never going to hear the right thing that the Lord is speaking about. We are living in dangerous times and it's going to demand your full attention in your hearing, before you leave the house you're going to have to hear the Lord till you go over here and do this over here don't stay over there.
Make sure you come here and you do that timely and get back over here you're going to need it. We are going to need it. Don't go over here and don't talk to that one over here. Because the devil is now busy.
Before we pray, let me give you an assessment, an overview of where we are standing this year, this time year, so that you, we all understand how critical this juncture is. So when you study generations, right, you will realize that when an older generation is about to leave the Earth, which by 2030.
There will be less than 10,000 baby boomers left in our world, which means that we have the generation that has anchored all of humanity at present is now about to depart. And right behind them is the new incoming leadership generation, that's us.
We are kind of assuming positions that our fathers had. So we are coming into our own. Now, as ease with all transitions. When transitions, transitions are one of the most difficult things to manage because there has to have values and things that cross over from one generation to the next.
While the other generation is coming in, it also has to establish a new pattern and way of doing things that suits that particular generation. But then also the older generation is still here.
So there is friction that takes place. But the other reality is that in the body of Christ, all the generals that have been sustaining or anchoring us, they are slowly but surely dying. And if they are still here, they do not have the strength they used to have to either pray for humanity, or to pray for churches, or to pray for people.
They can only do so much now. My father-in-law just turned 89, just turned 79 sorry and he doesn't have the energy anymore to get up at four and pray for everybody before you start this day, he is now waking up around 11, 12 PM.
So even if he is here he doesn't have the strength that he used to do to anchor everybody in prayer on the other side of that is us trying now to help him with his health and all the things that he needs at this juncture.
And then in the midst of that, we are also raising our children and trying to deal with everything that they are dealing with. So everybody has lost focus, not because we are deliberately losing focus.
It's because we are just busy. and then nobody is paying close attention to the gate, watching over the horizon to see if the enemy is coming and keeping him at bay. So with that, the enemy gets so busy because he now has free reign to do whatever he desires to do.
Because intercession is the last thing that's on everybody's mind because we have too many problems to deal with. And nobody now can spend enough time in prayer because the older saints are getting older and they need our help.
And we're sandwiched between a generation that is coming up that has lost its values and is trying to establish a new way of doing things. And the devil is busy because nobody is home.
And we are all being kept busy with everything that's going on around us. So hearing God in the midst of this chaos becomes difficult. And the problem with that is that it is at the center of what we do in this kingdom.
So I'm saying all this to say to every single one of us. Keep your focus on your hearing. What is the Lord saying? In other words, if you can, walk around asking yourself that question. What is the Lord saying?
Because it changes your focus and you anchor it towards what is really actually God saying. The question you ask always determines the answer you get. We need our hearing more than anything right now.
Because we are dealing with difficult challenges. I've been asking myself this whole week, everybody has a podcast, everybody. Everybody is saying something. Everybody is saying something.
A person walks over there and runs and everybody thinks he is incredible. Tomorrow, he has a podcast. A person jumps off the building and survives. Tomorrow, he has a podcast. Too many voices that have zero wisdom speaking.
And everybody is listening to chaos because the devil wants us to be busy. Because if you don't hear the Lord speak, the Lord's voice is being drowned in the midst of this noise. And Isaiah is reminding us in 42.
And God is saying, I've held my peace. I've been still and restrained myself. Now I will cry out like a woman in labour. I will pant and gasp at once. I will lay waste the mountains and hills and dry up the vegetation.
This sounds extremely drastic, but I want you to remember this. God's vengeance is out of love to get people to turn their eyes on him. And if anything happens that we think is God's vengeance, and if it's not turning people back to God, then that's not God.
That was the enemy, causing havoc and chaos. Because his goal right now is to bring. Listen, the moment we lose our hearing, division is imminent. Dysfunction is imminent. Dysfunction is just imminent.
Once we use our hearing, anybody can do whatever. Everybody can walk around and say, Oh, I heard the Lord. This is what the Lord told me to do. And when we get to that place, His real voice gets drowned out.
Because his goal, enemy, is to get you and I to lose focus, so that we don't hear what the spirit of the Lord is saying. Remember last year, towards the end of last year, I said, this year don't watch the news.
Stay away from it because again, the enemy wants us to lose focus. So brothers and sisters, hearing, hearing, hearing, hearing. Let us pay close attention to what the Spirit of God is saying.
Spend more time in scriptures. Spend more time praying. Spend no time having conversation that edifies the things of this world will pass away. But what will remain and endure forever is the word of God.
So hold on to what endures. All this stuff that's going on around us is designed for one thing. Now, I want you to think about this, okay, before we pray. So I can just sum up where we are.
We are being run as a country by a leadership that has intentionally decided that part of its strategy is to say outlandish things over and over again, so that we lose focus and sight on what it is they are doing.
So, in other words, we're going to say things even that we don't mean. From greenland to Gulf of Mexico, that seems like five years ago, right? Because the goal in the strategy is if we keep saying outlandish things, that means we are going to use our focus to follow outlandish things and not focus on what is actually happening.
Now, this is the leadership of the country. So if that is happening from the top, I want you to think what the enemy is trying to do. If he's using a leadership that is supposed to be caring about people and putting together policies to help its citizens, but rather it's now engaging in a strategy that deceives people.
Now I want you to imagine what the enemy is pushing for, if that is what the leadership is doing. And if that's the case, then you can realize that you and I, we cannot fall track to what we see. It's all a screensaver.
Our goal is to keep our hearing centered on God. That's how we become a city on a hill. That's how we become the light. That's how we become the salt. So keep your hearing, keep your hearing intact.
If you are consuming too much news, stay away from it. Let us pray. Father, we thank you for your instruction. We thank you for your grace, for your love, for your peace. We are your children.
You have called us into this kingdom, privileged us with all the statutes that anchors our faith. I pray in this hour and this season that we will not lose focus because the enemy is bombarding us with things. Help us Lord to turn our eyes away from worthless things but to direct us in the path of your command.
Thank you for salvation, because we know there are so many people who have heard this message of truth, but their hearts could not turn towards it. So, Lord, as we run this race, may you, by your Spirit, continue to govern our lives. To equip us, to counsel us, to give us direction, to give us peace in the midst of chaos.
We thank you, Lord, for courage to pursue you, but courage also to continue doing the right thing, even though our faith is tested. We believe with all our hearts that we are standing on Christ, a solid rock, and all ground is sinking sand.
We believe in our hearts that we can run into the shadow of your wings, and we'll be hidden from the chaos and confusion. Father, I pray that no sickness or disease will hinder us from hearing from you.
I pray, Lord, that in this hour, may your Holy Spirit be so strong in us to speak truth, encouragement, counsel, to give direction in the name of Jesus. I pray, Lord, for continued transformation of our minds by the renewing of our minds through the word of God.
Give us revelation that transcends this hour. Father, I pray for the seniors amongst us, just good health, less problems and challenges, just good health. May the blessing of the Lord be upon every single senior, that they are healthy and whole, not losing their minds.
But Father, that they are incubated and insulated by the power of the Holy Spirit, spirit without measure. If there are things that we need to fix, help us. Help us, Lord., help us, help us and we'll be so quick to give you glory.
So, Father, as you go through this day here that you have created for us to walk in, let your blessings flow through us, that your vision flow through us, that your grace flow through us. Your love flow through us.
May we be a voice of reason in the midst of chaos. May your Spirit walk with us and give others a chance to believe in you because we carry it. So by your Spirit, continue to anchor us, to protect our children from harm and danger, seeing or unseen, as they go to school each and every single day.
Father, we come against this spirit of gun violence in schools, help parents to teach their children the values that anchor societies, raise leadership that care about spiritual things God.
We are tired of being held to ransom by belligerent people in our midst that have deceitful hearts and we ask Lord for their removal, we pray for an opportunity for them to repent but if they choose not to Father help us and remove every single one of them in our midst in the name of Jesus.
We thank you that you hear us from the heavens. Now, according to your will, may you continue to anchor us in the midst of this chaos and bring understanding, knowledge and wisdom to everything that we are doing.
So that we remain aligned to the gospel, but above all else connected to Christ Jesus. As we go through this day, lead us not into temptation, deliver us from the evil one, for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever, Amen.
Brothers and sisters, preserve your hearing, preserve it. Pay attention to what you are listening to because the enemy wants us to be busy for no reason and mad for no reason. May the Lord bless you, equip you, and be with you today as you walk out this journey in Jesus' name, we will see you tomorrow, brothers and sisters.
