Thus Says The Lord-Who God Says He Is, His Commandments and Promises

Jeremiah 2:4-8 "I Brought You Into A Bountiful Country To Eat Its Fruit and Its Goodness, But When You Entered, You Defiled My Land, And Made My Heritage An Abomination "

We thank you for this day that you have made. We are rejoicing in it and we are glad in us. Thank you for redeeming us from the curse of the law. We are crucified with Christ. Nevertheless, we live. Not yet us, but Christ lives by faith in us.

Your word dwells in us richly. And we are able to say, we are blessed, we are healed, we are set free. Sickness cannot dwell in us. The number of our days will not fulfill. Sin will not dominate us because the seed of God's Word lives in us.

We believe that Jesus Christ came and died on the cross. We now have the abundant life and the victory that He provides. Therefore, no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and we are more than conquerors because of your great love.

Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world, and we can do all things through Christ who strengthened us as the redeemed of the Lord, we say so. Sorry for the technical difficulties, guys, but I'm sure you can hear me now.

Today is Tuesday, and we are in the book of Jeremiah 2:4-8. It says, Hear the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all of the families of the house of Israel, thus says the Lord and we have said when you hear thus says the Lord it simply implies this is what it is.

And it goes on to say what injustice have your fathers found in me that they have gone far from me in other words what have I done God is asking us a question, What have I done that you have decided that you go far away from me?

You have followed idols and have become idolatrous. Neither did they say, where is the Lord, who brought us up out of the land of Egypt? In other words, you have now forgotten all the things that I've done.

And it goes on to say, who led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and pits? Through a land of drought and the shadow of death, though a land that no one crossed and where no one dwelt.

I brought you into a bountiful country to eat its fruit and its goodness. But when you entered, you defiled my land and made my heritage an abomination. The priest did not say, Where is the Lord?

And those who handled the law did not know me. The rulers also transgressed against me, the prophets also prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. Brothers and sisters, when you read this particular passage of scripture here, you can see exactly what is going on in our world.

In other words, if you substitute the land of Egypt, you pretty much dust the whole entire world to say and we were brought into the kingdom of God and once we were brought into the kingdom of God

God is lamenting the fact that now that I've brought you into the kingdom of God which is the promised land for the children of Israelite. I've brought you into it and it is full of it's a bountiful country and it has incredible fruit and goodness in it but you have defiled it.

So in other words, it's people who are called out into the church, that has defiled the church. And after defiling it, we see the results when the church is defiled. The priest did not say, where is the Lord?

In other words, the priest forget their role, and those who are in power, rulers, will transgress. then prophets will prophesy by bow. So in other words, when we defile the church, we are being given here the three things that are prominent that we will see.

Priests will forget their role, then rulers will transgress because priests cannot address rulers anymore. Then prophets, that means people who speak the truth and encourage and edify the people and the church, will now start prophesying by bow.

Brothers and sisters, what's being said in this particular verse is happening right now. One of the telltale signs that a nation is in trouble or a people are in trouble, is when there is the absence of priests.

And then when you see prophetic word that does not align with God, starts being ushered, and then we see politicians in return who have a filled day and do whatever it is they desire to do.

And the Lord is speaking to the nation, Jeremiah is speaking the Lord is speaking through Jeremiah to the nation of Israel that this is what you have done. For us he is speaking to the church the kingdom of God the vehicle in which he uses to bring forth the kingdom of God.

That this is what we have done the church, we've forgotten what the Lord has done for us, where He has brought us from and where He has landed us in, which is His kingdom. And we have defiled the kingdom of God.

Now, brothers and sisters, the church is you and I. That's the reality. The church is you and I, and every single person in his heart is carrying the kingdom of God. So we have a duty and a responsibility to keep this kingdom, to keep this church, which is you, holy.

Because if you defile yourself, it means that the effects of your position will affect priests, will affect prophets, will affect politicians. The reason why truth is no longer the truth is not because people are lying more than they used to.

It just means that there is no opposition, there is no spiritual opposition. That's why they feel anything can go. Because spiritual opposition does not exist anymore. And doesn't exist it's not because there's no people who are spiritual, but it's because we have defiled the church.

So it's our job, you and I, to be holy. That's what this really particular passage of scripture is about. God is lamenting that this is what happens when we forsake holiness. When we forecast the desire to be holy.

Be ye holy as I am holy. When you are not holy, when you are not desiring to be holy, the repercussions of that decision is unbelievably massive. So we need to return back to holiness.

It has to be a subject matter that is in the forefront of our salvation. Because with it carries the authority and power to deal with things that defiles the temple. There's a story in the Old Testament where after God had given the laws, to the children of Israelites.

One of the laws that he gave them was that thou shalt not kill. But there's a period of time where there was all kinds of debauchery that was going on in the nation. And one Levite one day saw two people who were committing adultery.

He took a spear and he drove it between both of them and killed them. Even though the law said thou shalt not kill, God looked at it and was happy about it because the man said to them you are defiling the nation and we shall all suffer the consequences of your actions.

And I have to take action in order to prevent the defiling of the temple. Well, I'm not suggesting that we take spears and drive them into people, but what we are really pushing for is that you and I, we deal with things that are inside of us, that can defile the temple.

Because when we do that, we regain authority back to deal with the challenges that are being thrown at us or to address politicians or more better is to address fake prophets.

Have you ever wondered with all these crazy things that are going on around us in the church, not in the world, that we don't have fathers that can address these things anymore?

One of the reasons why believers don't address the issue of temples being defiled is because the leaders are also doing the same thing. So no one can address anybody. So I'm speaking to all of us.

As leaders of our families, as leaders of our communities, as leaders of our own bodies and temples, as leaders of the families that we have been thrown in, that we have a duty and a responsibility to be holy.

Because that gives us back the authority to address issues that we will see, experience, or that will come up against us. So thus says the Lord, says, Hear the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Jacob.

This is what it is from the Lord. He is lamenting what we have done. He says, what have I done to you, mankind? That you have gone far from me. Remember, he's speaking to people that he has brought out of Egypt.

He's not speaking to the world. He's speaking to you and I. That's who he's speaking to. He's not addressing the world. He's addressing people he has brought out of Egypt, people that he has called his own, people that he has set as his own house, that what have I done to you that you have gone far from me?

Now, when you think about what Jeremiah is writing here, is he speaking to people who are not daily praying? No, they were doing all the things they were doing. They were in synagogues, they were making offerings, they were following all the laws of Moses, they were coming together in festivals, festival activities, just to honor the Lord.

But yet still, they were dealing with numerous challenges. And why were they dealing with numerous challenges? Numerous challenges because of what was going on in the nation.

So, let us make a decision, every single one of us, to uphold holiness, to uphold the necessary statutes and values that have been given to us in order to continue receiving authority to address what is going on.

Because the absent of holiness in us leads to fake prophets, it leads to the absence of priests, and it leads to politicians doing whatever they desire to do. So, in other words, the best way to know if we are doing well as believers in upholding the statutes and the values that God has given us is, number one, when politicians start fearing the truth.

Two, when priests start addressing the problems and challenges and leaders. And then the third one is when fake prophets cease to exist. That's the indication that we are going back to holiness.

Because the scripture tells the opposite of what's being said here is actually true. Amen? So as we go out today, as we continue living life as believers, I want us to really understand and to know what our responsibilities are.

Because thus says the Lord, thus says the Lord. Brothers and sisters, let us pray.  Heavenly Father, I thank you for this wonderful council, wonderful group of people that you have assembled to speak to, to commune with one another, to come together in the purpose of growing your kingdom.

I thank you for your grace. the divine purpose for every single one of us. Plus, for this group. I thank you for what you are doing. As we try by all means to hold on to the values that you have given us.

I pray, Lord, that may the Spirit flow in us, through us, so that the depth of what we do continues to grow. We know you have given us purpose and you're placing us as a vehicle to lead.

And I'm praying, Lord, that as you continue to mature and to grow us in your Spirit, may we by your Spirit pursue holiness. May we deal with things that defiles this temple so that we can claim and regain the benefits of that watch you have given us.

I thank you for the time that we spend together, and I thank you for the times that we come together. We know our efforts have no meaning if your presence is not here. So Father, by your Spirit, continue to guide and lead us in all things true and in all things right.

As we go all throughout this day, Bless every single one of us. Open our spiritual ears to hear what says the Lord. Give us courage and boldness and determination to pursue what is right.

May we be the voice of reason in a very noisy world. May we learn to keep our silence when we need to keep our silence, but also to be vocal when we need to be vocal, to address issues spiritually because the scripture says that we wrestle not against flesh but against rulers and principality in the heavenly places.

So Father, as we continue to wrestle, I pray for strength, courage, boldness, determination, a hunger to know you, for we know that our days are not promised. I thank you for every family.

May you bless it, may you bless our children may you expand the knowledge in them of Christ, may you strengthen the cause that you have placed in us to fulfill the mandate that you have placed on us may you eradicate sickness and diseases in us wherever it is hiding.

And I pray, Lord, that for your mercies as we travel throughout these countries and get on planes and roads, that your safety is what we rely on. Because we know mankind makes things that are faulty.

But Father, every time that we go from one place to another and arrive in one piece and we come back home, is a day that we should is a moment that we ought to glorify you and to understand how you have protected us now as we go throughout this day.

Bless the words of our hands, bless the words of the one who send us, bless our hands let there be miracles by our hands because your word tells us that these signs shall follow those who believe but above all else Lord I want you to thank you.

I thank you for everybody who is connected to us, who is connected to this prayer call. Who volunteers, who offers time. And I pray, Lord, that may you strengthen us in our cause to be holy.

Be with us as we go throughout the day. Lead us not into temptation. And may you continue to deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever.

Brothers and sisters, may the Lord bless you. Pray for me I'm going through a very difficult time. A friend of mine, a very dear friend of mine, one of my best friends, passed away two days ago.

And I know where he is, but nonetheless, the pain and the anguish of a person that I have spent decades and decades discussing scriptures, debating and looking at scriptures, because that was his hunger too.

And yesterday I spent the better much of the day just going through the text messages that we have sent back and forth since 2010. And it reminded me of the void that he is living. Because most of those text messages was just, hey, what do you think of this scripture?

What do you think of what's being said here? Do you think this is biblical? Is it not biblical? He texted me last Friday asking me who was how many people were actually filled with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost.

And we went at it just trying to figure out you know the nature of the scripture and then we said we'll continue this conversation when I get back. Only to realize that was our last text message back and forth.

So I am hurting besides knowing where he is. So pray for me and I will keep praying for you and may the Lord bless your day and may the Lord equip you with everything that you need. I love you dearly and we will see each other tomorrow morning.
