Thus Says The Lord-Who God Says He Is, His Commandments and Promises
Jeremiah 1:4-12 "Before I Formed You In The Womb,I Knew You; Before You Were Born I Sanctified You; I Ordained You A Prophet To The Nations"
Good morning, good morning, good morning. Father God, we thank you this day. We bless your holy name. We praise you because you're such a good, good Father. We thank you El Shaddai for being our Almighty God.
We even bless your name this morning for being our healer Jehovah Rapha. We sit and we praise You for leading us and guiding us as You are Jehovah Rahi, our Shepherd, and our righteousness is Jehovah Tsidkenu, and above all being Jehovah Shalom, our Peace.
This morning, Papa Abba, we give You praise, glory, and honor for a blessed evening on last night which we slept. and bringing us here this morning to give your word to your people that we may go through knowing that we are lifting your name up and praising you as you give us the directions that we are to go in.
Good morning, my brothers and sisters. We thank you as we are coming this day to share what God has given us. And before we go to our reading, We want to go to Isaiah 55:11.
And it says, so is my word that goeth out from my mouth. It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I send it. Yes, good morning, my brothers and sisters.
We thank you for God who is our rock and our salvation. Our reading today is coming from Jeremiah. And as we gone through Isaiah, listening to thus saith the Lord, we find out that he now comes and gives Jeremiah the word.
And the heading on my Bible says the call of Jeremiah. So we are going to Jeremiah 1:4-12. And it says, The word of the Lord came to me saying, before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.
Before you were born, I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nation. Allah, sovereign Lord, I say it, I do not know how to speak. I am too young but the Lord said to me, do not say I am too young.
You must go to everyone. I send you two and say, whatever I command you, do not be afraid of them, for I am with you, and I will rescue you, declared the Lord. Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, I have put my words in your mouth, see?
Today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant. The word of the Lord came to me. What do you see, Jeremiah? I see the branch of an almond tree, I replied.
The Lord said to me, you have seen correctly, for I'm watching to see that my word is performed. When I read the chapter on God telling Jeremiah about his being formed, I remembered the Psalms 139, and I'm going to start at verse 13.
For thou hast possessed my ruins, my reins, excuse me, thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. When God speaks to Jeremiah, he tells him before he was born, you, Jeremiah, had an assignment and you were set apart.
There are times when we get the word that God has given to us and we forget that we are already having a plan, a purpose, and the road to which we should come to the Lord. For he said, before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.
So that should give us assurance of saying, we are in the hands of the Lord, who knows, who has the plan already set apart. And even though Jeremiah's plan was set apart, Jeremiah had to go through the exile with the people of Jerusalem.
And going through the fire is not, as the Psalms says, in the sweet by and by, but we have to go through the fire. And in, as we know, in Proverbs 27:17, it says, As iron sharpened iron, So one person sharpens another.
The fire is not to harm us because God has already told us he has a plan for us and a purpose for us not to harm us but for our good. So going through the fire, we have to go through the fire.
As Psalms 23 says, as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, which sometimes seems to be fire that we are going through, let us remember that the shadow of death As I heard one preacher said, a shadow of a dog never bit anybody.
So we see the shadow, but we have to be confident to go back to no. Even before we were born in our mother's womb, God knew us. So that plan is not going to always be soft or easy, but there are times that it will seem rough, but when gold goes through the fire, it goes through the fire.
So that means that it has to knock off, remove, and correct things that we have that has to come off, has to be changed, has to be put in such a place that we become what God desires for us to be.
But we will fear no evil, but we know no one or nothing will or stop the plan of God. We haven't been given the spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and a sound mind. In order to have that power, we have to be secure in knowing where the power comes from.
And the love, God's love is shed abroad in our heart by the Holy Ghost. And it gives us the strength that we need because we know the scripture says, the joy of the Lord is our strength.
So as we are confident in having his love in us, the joy will be there for us and a sound mind. As we consider ourselves with a sound mind, we understand and know that as the peace of God keeps our mind, guarding our hearts with a sound mind, we are more than conquerors.
More than conquerors means we don't just conquer the battle. but being more puts more emphasis on it as saying we go more farther over into what God has given to us. God has given us the plan and he knows as we get out of the way and watch him perform in us to become as the caterpillar which goes through the metamorphosis to becoming a butterfly.
We have to change into the new creation that God our Father has given us and know that we have a plan as we listen to Him clearly and understand that each step we take is from and shall be given to us listening, listening to what He's saying and we will understand.
Because in verse 7, what the Lord said to me, do not say I am too young. Because in the previous verse, Jeremiah said, I do not know how to speak. I am too young but the Lord said to me, do not say I am too young.
You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you, I will rescue you, declared the Lord. When we confidently yield ourselves, and there will be times that we don't understand all that God has for us, but we have to realize that he is in total control.
Even of the things that we have today in our lives, we have to stop and think. God knows what he's doing, and the way that he does it is the perfect way. It says in the verse nine, then the Lord reached out His hand and touched my mouth and said to me, I have put my words in your mouth.
See today, I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot, to tear down, to destroy, to overthrow, to build and to plant. His plan is perfect. His plan is just. His plan is right. So, when we get out of the way, becoming pure gold, God's word he has for us, he knows the beginning as well as the ending at the same time.
And we must remember that as we have the faith, which Hebrews 11:1 says, for we have his faith, and as we understand, walking in his faith, that faith is now, now faith is what we always shall understand and walk in.
Because it will yield to us those areas in our lives now to knowing that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. So that means right now we put our trust totally in God.
I also thought about in Genesis, when God asks Adam, where are you? When God asks us questions, it's not that He doesn't have the answer. He knows the answer. I see it as Him wanting us to answer Him in such a way that as we are repeating the answer that we know we should be giving Him.
That it will be exactly our mindset back to the mind that we would get from Him of seeing the picture of why I'm being asked this question right now. Because when we answer it, it comes to saying, okay, I'm going to answer it clearly.
I'm going to answer it knowing that this is the answer I should be giving God. Because there are times when we stop to think about what is the answer that I want to give. No, when we give the correct answer, it's the answer that works in our hearts to say.
This is from the true and living God that I am answering him. Because as Adam started answering, he pointed fingers. I was listening to Eve. God gave Adam the command. He gave him the plan. He gave him the purpose.
So, it was not for him to listen to Eve, but Eve was his helpmate. So, it does not say that you don't listen to your spouse. If someone is knowing the right plan that God has given to you, you can't, but stick to the plan God has for you.
Because in verse 11, the word of the Lord came to me. What do you see, Jeremiah? I see the branch of the normal tree, I replied. The Lord said to me, you have seen correctly while I'm watching to see that my word is fulfilled.
God's answers for the question that he's asking us is in our hearts. So what we should do, not like Adam, to point to Eve and Eve point to the serpent, but it's how we see the domino effect of trouble, fault finding, finger pointing, all leading to sin and disobeying the word that God correctly has told us so that we answer the question correctly.
And we don't go, we will go down the straight and narrow path of answering because it's as if you answer and it's not the truth. The next time you got to remember, what did I actually say?
But as in knowing that God already knows the correct answer, what we will say is, Lord, this is the answer. This is what you told me. And correctly, we will go down, as I said, the straight and narrow.
Remembering exactly the answer is not pondering or trying to figure out what I should say. As people say, well, it was just a little white lie, a peace lie. No, a lie is a lie. So, we should begin to be slow to speak, so we can actually hear the voice of God.
And what did he ask us? Swift to hear and slow to speak, slow to anger. Verse 5 says, His word shall be fulfilled. God watches over his word to perform it.
And we thank God for as he gives us the word, the plan, that we will follow the Great One, the Great I Am, in understanding, having the correct wisdom, knowledge, and his direction, his perfection and his protection, his hope, his love, his joy, his peace, all in the Holy Ghost, which he's given to us.
His healing, his wholeness of mind, and the desires of truth, understanding wisdom, guidance, health, strength, keeping us knowing today is the day that we are coming to be like Jeremiah, that God says the plan that he had for us, he's given it to us.
We stand steadfast, immovable, always abounding in his truth because we are his children and what he desires for us, he will give to us. He will help us to walk in knowing the correct way and the plan that he has in our lives.
Abba, keep us in your love. We are walking uprightly because you have come to us as with Isaiah, Jeremiah, the prophets, Lord, even the men that you walked with, your disciples. We come before you right now, Father God, knowing that you have given to us great and mighty things.
That we stand and we understand who you are in us. We are recognizing your voice through your word, Father God. And we are coming to commune with you in our lives daily so that others will see and hear.
We are available. We're totally dependent upon you, Father God committing to obey your voice in all things. Lord, we want to walk pleasing to you and be fruitful in every good work. As we set aside time daily to read and meditate on your word and pray, we thank you that we will hear your voice, that of the good shepherd.
We will not follow the voice of a stranger because you said that we, your children, hear your voice of a stranger, we will not follow. Finally, Lord, we will be in obedience in small things so that you will trust us with more.
We thank you for helping us to gain understanding with some knowledge and knowing that you have already the plan that we need to walk in. Even if we make mistakes, we tell ourselves and we come to you asking for forgiveness.
Because we know that we have a Father who will and desire to forgive us because quickly we will ask for forgiveness and start seeking your face in all things. We thank you, Lord, because you have come and let us know that the words that you put in our mouths, Lord, that we are seeking you as the God.
Who lets us know before we were born in our mother's womb, fearfully and wonderfully made. We are coming to you asking for your guidance, your direction, your perfection, and your correction.
Because we know, Lord, your word has told us that you correct those at whom you love. And as we're going through the fire, as we are being shaped in the image that you desire us to be shaping in, we will come out as pure gold, looking as the Father who you are in us.
We thank you for this day. We yield ourselves as willing vessels, seeking to become who you desire for us to be, and answering correctly the questions that you're asking us in our lives, so that we too will know that we are your children.
And the light on the hill where men will see and cry out to you, what must we do to be saved? Amen my brothers and sisters, I pray that God bless you and that this word will help you to shape you this day and the days to come to knowing that he is our God and in him, we live, move and have our being. Have a blessed day, in Jesus name, Amen.
