Thus Says The Lord-Who God Says He Is, His Commandments and Promises

Ezekiel 3:16-21,27 "Son Of Man, I Have Made You A Watchman For The House Of Israel; Therefore Hear A Word From My Mouth, And Give Warning From Me"

A very good morning, a very good morning to you everybody. I hope and pray you had a wonderful, restful night and you are ready for another day with the Lord. Let us go to the Lord in prayer.

Heavenly Father, we bless you this morning. We thank you that your new mercies are here for us to claim this morning and reclaim ours in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We thank you for your hand that is on our lives that you've guided us this far.

And we thank you, Lord, that you are the creator of the universe. You know all things. You are never late. You're always on time. You see everything. You're not confused. You're not moved by our emotions.

But you are God by yourself. You don't need any consultation. And we are grateful that we have a God who is above it all. Your sovereign authority is guiding us every step of the way. So Father, as we come to you this morning, we come in confidence, knowing that you hear us when we speak to you.

And we thank you for this time of fellowship, of communion, and of interaction with the Holy Spirit, that as you guide us, and as you move us into all things true and all things right, We thank you, Lord, that you are preserving our souls and you are leading us in everything that we do.

We bless you for all that you're going to do and what you're still going to do. And we bless you for this day that you have made. We are rejoicing in it and we're glad in it.

Now, as you look at your word, remind us of things that are important so that we can stand on Christ, the solid rock, as your armor bearers we bless you and honor you in Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Brothers and sisters today I I want to remind us of something and the perspective which we're going to come from I want you and I to realize that we are Ezekiel We are Jeremiah.

The words that God gave to Jeremiah and Ezekiel, He was giving them to speak to non-believers, people who have strayed away. And He was using Jeremiah and Ezekiel as a mouthpiece to speak the word of God to those who had strayed away or who did not know Him.

So most of the things that we are reading in these past few weeks, thus says the Lord. It's really to remind us that when God gives us instructions or when God gives us words, when God asks us to go, we should immediately go and we should immediately do.

So I want us to take that perspective as we read these following scriptures. Because sometimes I know the scriptures were written to us, and the tendency sometimes is to look at them from the perspective of the one who's being spoken to.

But today I want you to read this as you are Jeremiah and as you are Ezekiel. That God, most of us, I believe, all of us here, we are saved. And these instructions is a reminder of our responsibilities once we enter into this kingdom.

So, we are in Ezekiel 3, we are back there in verse number 16, 21 and 27. Now it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the Lord came to me saying, son of man, I have made you watchmen for the house of Israel.

Therefore hear a word from my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say to the wicked, you shall surely die, and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from the wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hands.

In other words, you know better and you should be able to say something if you know better. Yet, if you warn the wicked and he does not turn from the wickedness nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.

Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits out iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die, because you did not give him warning. He shall die any sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered.

But his blood I will require at your hand. Nevertheless, if you warn the righteous men that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin. He shall surely leave because he took warning.

Also you will have delivered your soul. Verse 27 But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, Thus saith the Lord God, he who hears, let him hear and he who refuses let him refuse for they are a rebellious house.

Now God is giving instruction to Isaiah not to Ezekiel sorry, but at the tail end of this it says for they are a rebellious house. A rebellious house needs a righteous man to speak up. A rebellious house needs a righteous man to speak up.

A believer who does not speak up or speak truth of the scriptures, it means that we are actually refusing an instruction that God has given us pertaining to how we function in this kingdom.

Our job is not to worry about consequences our job is to speak the word of God, the word of God when you speak the word of God you exonerate yourself from condemnation because it's not you who is speaking but it's God who is speaking.

Now let's think about this most people who find themselves in seeing or doing things most likely they will never read the scriptures, correct? You and I, we read scriptures pretty much daily.

So which means the opportunity to open the book for that person is probably not going to exist. The only way they will ever encounter scripture is one, when they see you. Two, is when you speak to them.

There's a quote, I can't remember who quoted it, it says, let your life speak more than your words. But when God gives us instructions to speak, let our mouth speak. Why? Because as clearly as he says it to Ezekiel here.

I will speak, I will open your mouth and you shall say to them thus says the Lord God. Now I want to tell you a story that I heard yesterday from Africa and it'll probably capture this passage of scriptures.

So there's a young pastor just started and he was doing phenomenal work. and then God speaks to him in a dream tomorrow morning I want you to get up and go to this hospital which was nearby his house.

And I want you to lay hands on everybody in this hospital and they shall be well. This is in a dream. They will be well after you laid hands on them they are going to be well and the hospital is going to empty out.

And I would understand why the Lord would say that to this young man. Because there is shortage of drugs and medication and doctors on strike at this particular hospital. So of course, like most of us would do, say, Oh my God, the Lord has given me a word, exciting!

Cause of action number two is probably, You know what, I'm going to fast and pray. Which is what he said to himself, I want to fast and pray. And he's fasting and praying and he called his friend, Hey, this is what the Lord said to me.

And his friend was like, Oh my God, that's incredible. Yeah, you're doing the right thing. You should fast and pray. Until The Lord spoke to him again. He's like, I did not ask you to fast and pray.

I asked you to go and lay hands of people in this hospital. Three days go by until he goes to church on Sunday. He's thinking, I'm going to go to church on Sunday, preach, sing, worship, then on Monday, I'm going to go.

So he did a search. the word of the Lord came to him on Friday going into Saturday which means he should have gone when? on Saturday to be God's spokesperson but he does not go.

He finally gets up on Monday and he goes to this hospital so when he walks in immediately the people in front ask him like what can we do for you sir? He says well the Lord sent me to pray for people.

Says I'm here to pray for people and the lady said well I'm so sorry sir because all the patients that were in this hospital they all got healed and left on Sunday. Says the hospital is actually empty says it's an It's an incredible, phenomenal thing that happened here.

And, of course, he's disappointed with himself. And he's crying out like, Oh my God, I missed an opportunity. And then, of course, he goes home, he's all depressed, he's talking to the Lord.

And he says the lesson for him was that when God says, go, He has already gone ahead of you. Which means that when you come behind, you're just fulfilling what he has already began and is already doing.

Your failure or my failure of not speaking for the Lord has nothing to do with what he wants to accomplish. He will accomplish it with or without you. But it means for you and I, there's two things that we are going to miss.

The experience, which will usually give us a level of growth, and then two, the opportunity to be used by God. God wants to use us and in this story, you realize that what God is in need of is believers who are willing to say what He is saying and seeking.

In other words, are you available for God to use? Most times we are caught between questioning what we heard and the fear of what will look like or what I will look like in the middle of doing what the Lord has called me to do.

And we miss opportunities of growth. There's two ways we grow, especially in this kingdom. God pushes you to do something and you gain knowledge of who He is or you're part of an experience that grows you as you experience whatever God is doing in that season.

So, again, from that perspective, if you read this passage of scripture again, you will realize what's being said here. That if I give you an instruction to go warn a sinful person, and if you don't, the reason why His blood will be on your hands is not because you refuse.

It's because you know the truth and you withheld the truth. Knowing the truth and withholding it, it means that we are capturing the word of God just for ourselves and not giving it.

The word and the scriptures were designed to be for us to give them out. To experience them but then to also give them out. That's why the scripture says let your life be what? A living epistle.

You don't become a living epistle without experiencing scriptures first. You take in scriptures, you experience it, and then your life becomes a living epistle. So that means you have to give it out once you've received it.

And it's our responsibility. It's the responsibility of this kingdom. That once you are in, you have to speak up. And not just what we think but to speak up using the word of God. It's important.

The reason why a family, a nation gets in trouble or a community gets in trouble is because they are no longer people who are speaking the word of God. As we all can see, this country is going through challenges.

Not because these challenges are new. Nothing is new in this world. This is cyclic. This has happened before. What makes a huge difference is people who speak up the Word of God. Right now we have so many people speaking out, but they are not speaking the Word of God.

There's a lot of podcasts everywhere where people are speaking about anything and everything. A person falls from a chair, he goes and starts a podcast about falling from a chair.

And thousands and thousands of people will listen. A person does something ridiculous, he starts a podcast and thousands will listen. But one thing that we are missing is people who are speaking the word of God.

The so-called Christian podcasts, they are debunking and criticizing what this one said and what this one said. And I keep asking myself, where is the scriptures? Where is Thus says the Lord?

The reason we don't have that is because we are forgetting this principle that God gave all his prophets. You see it in every single one of them. You're going to be my mouthpiece. Speak the word of God.

He told Ezekiel, He told Jeremiah, He told Isaiah, says I've put my words in Isaiah he says I've put my words in your mouth so that you could plant the heavens and Ezekiel is telling him that if you don't speak their blood is going to be on your hands.

The same thing to Jeremiah he told him but look at what he says to Ezekiel here. He says I know they are rebellious I know it. In other words, if you get rejected, so be it. I've already told you that it might happen.

But God is more concerned about everybody hearing the word so they can have an opportunity, so that on that day nobody ever says, I never heard you. So, From that perspective, as we are pushing this growth, just know that your responsibility as your believer is to speak the word of God.

Thus says the Lord. So that everybody gets an opportunity to know what the scriptures are saying. So between now and January 1st, we have a job to do. We have people to talk to, people to minister to, people to bring the word of God to.

Nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, grab somebody and give them the word of God. One of the reasons we don't want to do that is because we don't read our scriptures enough. Or if we do, we don't find words that encourages other people.

Because most times we are always thinking about us eating this daily bread. But after we have ate, you want to make sure that we are speaking the Word of God to somebody. Give the scriptures to another.

You ought to have a few people you are texting every day, just encouraging or texting a verse, a passage of scripture, you have to. How can we not? With all the people that we know, how can we not encourage anyone with scriptures?

How can we not? We know too many people that are lost, too many people that are struggling, that it should be our responsibility to wake up in the morning, and when the Lord places somebody on your heart, text them.

Every conversation I have, be it at tennis, be it at sports with somebody, I'm always giving scriptures. If somebody says I'm dealing with something, oh, you're going to hear the word of God.

I'm going to find a passage of scripture to give you an example. Why? Because thus says the Lord. Our job is to warn those who are perishing. So I want to encourage everybody. I mean, just see how incredibly important this was to God as he was giving this word to Ezekiel.

That, my friend, I don't care how righteous you are, Ezekiel, but if you don't warn a person who is in sin, oh, their blood is going to be on your hands.

That's how that's how important this was to him to God to so that somebody gets to hear his word. so we have a job to do guys I want us to change the way we reach out. I want us to reach out to friends, nieces, nephews somebody take somebody today.

As you get off this verse, find a verse and encourage somebody. If you know somebody who's going through hell, if you know somebody who's not saved, send them a scripture. Because it's our job, it's our responsibility as believers to give the word of God to another. Let us go to the Lord in prayer.

Father, we thank you for your instructions. We thank you for who you are. We thank you that you love us dearly, that you're always encouraging us and inspiring us to get out of our comfort zone.

So I pray, Lord, that as we look at our lives, as we look at what you are giving us in words and in scriptures and in inspiration, Remind us that at the tail end, after we have benefited from these scriptures, after we are full from these words, remind us that we ought to share with others.

Give us the confidence, the strength, the determination, the boldness to speak the word of God wherever it is needed. Open our eyes to see the opportunities that are around us to encourage another.

And Father, as you bless our spirit, we want to be a blessing to others. Help us to grow in this area because I believe it's one of the most underutilized areas of believers speaking to another pertaining, thus says the Lord.

Help us in our study to understand the word of God. So that we can be the mouthpiece for this lost generation. We are living in a country that is totally lost because few are speaking. So I pray Lord that in our efforts may your Spirit guide us in everything that we do.

Thank you for your grace and your ability that you have placed inside of us to do greater works. And I pray Lord that as we receive your spirit and as we receive your word, may we be quick to act on it.

Not wait, not contemplate, not try to figure it out or the best way to do it but rather to just get up and go. Because we know one, we are going to be used by you, two, we are going to grow in the experience.

Father, I bless you for these, your people. Help us, help us, help us, for we need you. And we are the salt, we are the light and we don't want to lose our saltness neither do we want to lose the light.

So we thank you for your goodness and your mercy towards us as we go into this day we want to be quick to do your will as it is in heaven. May you lead us not into temptation but continue to deliver us from the evil one for thine is the kingdom the power and the glory, forever and ever, Amen and Amen.

May the Lord bless you, may the Lord equip you, may the Lord strengthen you, may the Lord inspire you and encourage you today. And I pray that as you receive, freely you receive, freely you give.

Give the word of God. If you don't know what gift to give, give the Word of God. Christmas is coming, Thanksgiving is coming. Give a Bible, give a Bible to somebody who needs it. And let us have an incredible, phenomenal day and we will see you tomorrow. Love you guys.
