Thus Says The Lord-Who God Says He Is, His Commandments and Promises

Ezekiel 3:8-11 "Behold, I Have Made Your Face Strong Against Their Faces, And Your Forehead Strong Against Their Foreheads."

A very good morning, a very good morning to you, everybody. I hope and pray that you had a wonderful, restful night and you are ready for another day. Let us go to the Lord in prayer.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for your goodness and your mercy towards us. We thank you, Lord, for all that you have done and what you're still going to do. We thank you for your grace.

We thank you for your new mercies that we receive every morning. So Lord, as we come before you today, we devote this time to you, to meet with you, to hear from you, to commune with the Spirit, to fellowship with one another.

Because we know this is important for our souls, it's important for our relationship with you, and for our relationship with one another. So I pray, Lord, that as we continue to foster this spirit of unity, of coming together, that God, may you continue to indulge us.

May you continue to visit us, to encourage us, to inspire us, to motivate us, so that we can walk circumspectly before you. We thank you, Lord, for the many blessings that you have bestowed upon us.

We thank you, Lord, that even as we go throughout this day, may you open our eyes and our hearts to see all that you have in store for us so that we can walk with it in full victory. We bless you and honor you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen and Amen.

Brothers and sisters, it's good to be with you. I traveled to Boston last weekend for a friend's funeral. And it was such an incredible, phenomenal time to be with everybody. But above all else, it was really incredible to see how God works with individuals who are always willing.

The legacy this good friend of mine left is remarkable. The things that he was able to accomplish and to do in 48 years is unbelievable. The people he touched, the people he ministered to, is just beyond.

You know, it's one of those things where you question yourself, What am I doing with my life? Because it just was remarkable to see, unbelievable. And from it, you know, I learned a lot about you know, sometimes you know some things but then sometimes you need a reminder of some things.

And then sometimes you need to see some things in order to really, you know, foster the things that God is giving you to do. And this was one of those times where you live with a heart that is full and with a determination and a hunger and the perspective about life and serving God that just transforms you.

So it was really remarkable to see. And for everybody who was there, it was almost the same statement. What am I doing with my life? Such was the level of impact that Gregory left.

And while we are following that train of thought, today we are in Ezekiel. And again, if you're joining us for the first time, we're going through the scriptures, you know, just examining where the Lord spoke through the prophets.

Thus says the Lord and out of try to just give insight in what he is saying to us today. as we are living in this 21st century and the challenges that are coming along with that. So today we are in Ezekiel 3:8-11.

This is what it says, Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your foreheads strong against their foreheads like adamant stone, harder than fled. I've made your forehead.

Do not be afraid of them, nor be dismayed of their looks, though they are a rebellious house. Moreover, he said to me, Son of men, receive into your heart all my words. that I speak to you, and hear with your ears, and go get to the captives, to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them.

Thus says the Lord God, whether they hear or whether they refuse. Brothers and sisters, This is an instruction that God is giving to Ezekiel. And from chapter 1, chapter 2, chapter number 3, you see God giving him words to speak.

Then He is also giving him instructions along the way of how he ought to conduct himself, then also He is reminding him of certain things And in this case, he is telling them, he's telling Ezekiel, I'm about to send you this thing that I need you to pay attention to.

Number one, I don't want you to be afraid. Why shouldn't you be afraid? Because I have made your face stronger against their faces, and your forehead stronger against their foreheads.

Now, when you look at these two body parts that God is kind of telling his equal your face from your face you get your facial expressions, you get your countenance you get your eyes which is the window to your soul.

And then from your face you also get your forehead and from your forehead that's where you have the logical ideas, your frontal lobe, which is where you used to think, and also that's where faith resides.

So he's telling Ezekiel that I've made your face stronger than their faces. In other words, when they look at you, they are going to realize how weak they are because of what's on your face. Remember when Moses went up Mount Sinai?

The scripture says when he came back, they could not look him in the face because there was glory shining on his face that blinded their eyes, which gave them an easy way to speak to them because of the glory that was on his face.

So he's saying to Ezekiel, I'm making your face strong. In other words, there will be something on your face that will be seen that will make you strong and on your forehead.

In other words, I'm putting your logical space, your logical head, your frontal cortex, I'm putting something in there that's going to give you an advantage as you speak to these people.

It's amazing how the Word of God and how God uses pretty much almost anything to show forth his strength, his power, his wisdom, his intellect, his knowledge, his intelligence. I'm making your face strong and I'm making your forehead strong as you go speak to these people.

Don't worry and I don't want you to be fearful because those two things are going to be the way in which they are going to have to listen to you. Your forehead and your face, your countenance.

What does it mean to you and I? What it means is that when we spend time with the Lord, one of the things the Lord does is that He changes your countenance. He changes the way you look, your eyes, your speech and your facial expressions.

And through that, this is why sometimes when people, if you ever, I'm sure most of us have experienced this, we are out in public and somebody says, There's just something different about you.

They are not talking about, most times it's not because about your body. Most times it's because of what they see on your face. And when you think about the human brain, the way the head is set up, is that you have your imagination, your memory and your ideas, which is the three functions of your mind.

Your imagination exists or it's stored right in front of your head. Your memory is at the back. And when we exercise faith, we are exercising faith through the frontal lobe of our head. That's why the scripture says don't be drunk because drunkenness stops the frontal lobe from operating and functioning the way it should function.

That's why when we when people when people get drunk they cannot function or walk or either speak clearly because your frontal lobe is affected. So now, when the Lord says, I'm making your front, your forehead strong.

It means that I'm giving you access to a greater level of faith so that what you conceive or what you logically set to do and what you say using your mind, That is going to be stronger than the words that will come out of their mouths.

And all this happens when we spend time with the Lord. Ezekiel was a man of prayer. Ezekiel was a man of communion. He spent so much time with the Lord. Hence, his countenance, God is telling him, I'm going to change it.

I'm going to make your forehead strong. so that when you encounter people, before you speak, something will be on you that will cause the people you are talking to, to adhere to your words.

In verse 10 it says, moreover he said to me, 'Son of men, receive into your hearts all my words, that I speak and hear with your ear and go get to the captives, to the children of your people and speak to them and tell them thus says the Lord.

If the Lord is going to use you and I to be a voice, if the Lord is going to use you and I to speak to relatives and cousins and aunts, nephews and nieces, friends and colleagues, if the Lord is going to use us, He has to put something on our face and also He has to make our foreheads stronger.

So that what we deliver becomes much easier and readily acceptable because of what's on you. So we need this, we need God to make our faces strong. And we need God to make our countenance stronger and our foreheads stronger to enable us to communicate.

Thus says the Lord. God is going to put something on you. He desires to put something on us. Because that will make our job, your job, my job, easy to communicate with others, Thus says the Lord.

It's amazing how our God has all these things in place in order to aid and to give us wisdom and strength that we require to execute that which he desires for us to speak. So it's imperative that we continue to spend time with the Lord because it changes your countenance.

And the less time you spend with the Lord, your countenance goes the opposite way. Remember the first principle that God gives you money to in Genesis chapter number 6. It comes because God showed up in the garden and he sees a brother who has killed another brother.

And the first question that God asks Cain says, why is your face, your countenance, looking the way it is looking? What have you done? Because when people do evil, countenance reflects that.

When people do good and spend time with the Lord, your countenance reflects that, and that usually most times make it easy for you and I to communicate thus says the Lord, so it's important that we continue to hunger and thirsty after this word and to really dive deep spiritually.

Remember a few weeks, a week ago, we were talking about taking stock and making sure that we are living right, we are doing right and we're spending time with the Lord because part of what the Lord will do is make sure that your countenance changes.

You cannot spend time with the Lord. And your countenance does not change. It's just impossible. When I hear people say, I've been spending time with the Lord, I always say, show me your face.

Show me your face because it usually reflects a person's desire and the effort and time that he has put in in spending time with the Lord. Your face does. Your countenance does. It's impossible to spend time with the Lord and come back and your countenance be sad, angry.

It's just impossible because God put something on you and he makes your forehead stronger. Again, in Ephesians, it says put on the helmet of salvation. In other words, let's make your head strong.

So that when you interact with people, the way you think, the way you talk, the way you see things, changes and the Lord increases your knowledge. So that's why we are talking about growing in the knowledge of who God is, because it makes your head strong.

So that when taste comes and conversation comes, that you are thoroughly equipped, not just with information and knowledge and wisdom, but that God will make you strong in order to stand and deal with the challenges that are coming our way, all of the things that we will hear.

So it is important that we continue to spend time with the Lord, that we really dive deep into scriptures, and we really worship and pray, because out of that, it's going to make your job easy.

Not all hallelujahs are the same. You can give a microphone to a person, and he can stand up there and say, praise the Lord. And you can give another person the same microphone, the same stage, and they'll stand up there and say, praise the Lord.

And those two are not the same, depending on the time and effort that has been put in spending time with the Lord. Because it changes everything. So we need to spend time with the Lord so that He can make our faces strong and our foreheads stronger.

So that when time comes to speak, when time comes to fellowship, when time comes to pray, when time comes to have conversations, when time comes to instruct, your job is made easy.

Because God will have put something on your face, and you have made your head strong so that you can speak. Thus says the Lord. Brothers and sisters, we are needed now. The world is crying out for the sons and daughters of the Most High to now rise up and stand.

Not argue, but stand and speak thou saith the Lord. And one of the things that will make our job easy is spending time with the Lord because He will automatically change our countenance and make our foreheads stronger, which is where logic and rationale comes from.

So that in our conversations we are explicitly aligned with what the Lord is saying. Let us go to the Lord in prayer. Heavenly Father, our blessed Redeemer, words cannot express the magnitude of who you are.

We thank you for the many blessings and all that you have done in our lives. Father, we pray, Lord, that in our efforts to search the scriptures, to fellowship with one another, to commune with the Spirit.

That God, may you put on us your Spirit, so that as we carry you in everything that we do, in people that we encounter, in conversations that we have, that God, you continue to make yourself known through us.

I pray, Lord, for eloquence of speech for all of us as we commune and fellowship with different ones. I pray, Lord, that you give us wisdom in our efforts to bring forth the word of God to those who are lost.

I pray, Lord, that God, you teach us continually so that we can grow in the knowledge of who you are. Because we desire to speak thus says the Lord. We are living in a generation that is lost.

An evil and adulterous generation that is looking for a sign and we know it will not be given except the words that will come out of Jonah. So I pray Lord that as you have sent the different prophets in their time, send us so that we can be the voice of reason in a dying world.

Father, I pray for grace to abound, and I pray for peace to abound, and I pray for strength in our efforts to know you better.

I pray, Lord, that in the study of Scripture, in the worship of songs and fellowshipping, that God, may your Spirit invoke us so that we can grow in the midst of all these challenges. I pray, Lord, that you elevate us and broaden our shoulders for what's coming.

Prepare us so that we can be ready for the time that you will call us to do that, says the Lord. Father, I pray, Lord, that as we elevate, as we rise up, that God continue above all else to give us wisdom to exercise the full measure of who you are in this earth.

We know we are the salt. We know we are the light. What good are we if we lose our saltness? So Father, I pray for every single one of us that may you continue, Lord, to increase the saltness in us so that wherever we are, we are a source of influence, a source of direction, a source of inspiration in this lost world.

I pray, Lord, that while we serve you, may you serve our families, our children, our grandchildren. I pray, Lord, that may we reach those who are lost in our families as we continue to study to grow in the Word of God.

I pray, Lord, that even as we continue to study the Word of God, as we continue to fellowship with one another, may you anchor us spiritually. May you heal our bodies. May you heal our emotional wounds.

May you touch the privacy of our hearts and our bodies that might be dealing with some things. Father, I pray for your healing to be part of our daily bread. Touch our minds, touch our souls, and touch our hearts, so that we can grow the way you desire us to grow.

Father, I pray this winter season that we are getting into, as nights get longer, Give us dreams. Give us clear understanding that may we find ourselves on our knees this winter, as we grow in you, as you ready us for the year ahead.

I pray, Lord, that we will not start the new year the same people that we were this year. That God, you will grow us between now and the 1st of January. I pray, Lord, that may the desire to know you continue to grow in the hunger and the thirsty after you continue to grow in us.

As you elevate us so we can speak, thus says the Lord. Open doors that no man would shut. Elevate us in our places of workplace. May our voices and our countenance make a difference wherever you place us in this world.

Thank you, Lord, for the many blessings that you have given us. And I'm praying, Lord, that as we receive more, may we give more. In the name of Jesus. Strengthen and broaden our shoulders.

Father, I thank you for what you're doing in us and through us. I pray for our families and our children as they go to school. Protect them from harm and danger, sin or unseen. I pray, Lord, as they interact with different ones, may you make them be difference makers.

Because of what they know and what we teach them. I pray, Lord, that none amongst our children will face the challenges that are being thrown at them. If they do, give them a victorious spirit.

I thank you for our families. I thank you, Lord, for what you are doing in us. May you bless every single one of us this season as we desire to grow and to be elevated. And I pray, Lord, that as we go throughout this day.

May opportunities arise for us to minister to somebody, to bring the Word of God to somebody, to change somebody's life through your words. May we be a safe place for the Holy Spirit to dwell, so that he can do a work in others through us.

Bless us as we go throughout this day. Lead us not into temptation, but continue to deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever, Amen and Amen.

Brothers and sisters, may the Lord bless you this week, and may the Lord bless you today, and may you walk in victory in everything that the Lord is calling you to do. I love you, and may we all have an awesome, phenomenal day, and we will see you tomorrow morning.
