Thus Says The Lord-Who God Says He Is, His Commandments and Promises

Ezekiel 13:1-9 "Thus Says The Lord God: Woe To The Foolish Prophets, Who Follow Their Own Spirit And Have Seen Nothing!"

A good morning, a good morning, a good morning to everybody. I pray you had a wonderful, restful night and you are ready for another week and another day with the Lord. Let us go to the Lord in prayer.

This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and we're glad in it. Thank you for redeeming us from the cause of the law. We are crucified with you never lest we live. Not yet us, but Christ lives by faith in us.

Thank you, Lord, that you have given us the word, and it dwells in us richly. We are able to say we are blessed, we are healed, we are set free. Sickness cannot dwell in us. The number of our days you will fulfill.

Sin will not dominate us because of the seed of God's word lives in us. We believe that Jesus came and walked on this earth and died so that you and I, we can have the abundant life and the victory that He provides.

So therefore, no weapon is formed against us will be able to prosper. We are more than conquerors because of His great love. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.

And we can do all things through Christ who strengthened us as the redeemed of the Lord, we say so in Jesus' name we pray, Amen. Brothers and sisters, today we are back in Ezekiel. I'm enjoying reading the book of Ezekiel.

You know, yesterday I went to bed listening to it. And it's incredible how God cares so much about humanity that is not just harshly going to do anything without notifying us. That's the Father we serve.

And in this case, He sends prophets, He sends different ones to speak to us. And we should always remember that God is never wrong, He's always right. We sometimes, time to time, we do things that compromises the faith that we should have in Him.

And we are in this passage of scripture, you see God's intent and then His warning and the things that He is speaking to through prophets. So, and the word of the Lord, so Ezekiel 18:1-9.

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, right? So there's two types of prophetic words.

One, that comes from the mouth of God, two, that comes from people's hearts. And one of them is wrong, the one that comes from people's heart. And then it says, "Hear the word of the Lord.

Thus says the Lord God, woe to foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing. All Israel Your prophets are like foxes in the desert. You have not gone up into the gaps to build a wall for those of Israel to stand in, in the battle of the day of the LORD.

They have envisioned futility and forced divination, saying, thus saith the Lord, but the Lord has not sent them. Yet they hope that the word may be confirmed. Have you not seen a future vision and have you not spoken false divination?

You say the Lord says, but I have not spoken. Therefore, thus says the Lord God. Because you have spoken nonsense and envisioned lies, therefore I am indeed against you, says the Lord God.

My hand will be against the prophets who envision futility and who divine lies. They shall not, they shall not be in the assemble of my people, nor be written in the record of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter into the land of Israel.

Then you shall know that I am the Lord God. And this is a powerful passage of scripture. It's warning us that they will be false prophets, and that they are false prophets that prophesy from their hearts.

In fact, they speak words, hoping that God will confirm and endorse them, endorse the words they speak. And the Lord is speaking to Ezekiel and says, I want you to prophesy against them and tell them, this is what God is saying.

Because of your doing, because of the things that you are doing, you will not be part of my ensemble. I will judge you. You will not be part of anything that I'm doing. Because your visions, your prophecy, are futile.

Now, one of the things that is dangerous is that there are people who obviously believed false prophets, because in our desire to hear from the Lord, and in our desire to follow his instructions.

We're going to listen to anyone who will say, Oh, the Lord said A, B, C, D. But God is saying, nah, there's people who prophesy from their hearts because they have good intentions, they're going to prophesy, but it's all going to be wrong because I did not send them.

And a lot of that is happening today. You have a lot of false prophets, a lot and they are everywhere. And there's a lot of people that says, the Lord said, and God hasn't spoken. which means that the hearers have the responsibility of deciphering which one is the word of the Lord and which one is not.

So, which means that we all have to have this important skill to know which is the word of God or which is not. Now, the Holy Spirit is our aid. If we do good in listening to him, then there is nothing anyone anyway is going to say that will trick us.

But if we do not heed, take heed of the counsel of the Holy Spirit, that means we also can fall victims to people in prophetic words that people claim are from the Lord and they are not.

So it is important that in our hearing we hear the Word of God and one of the ways to know for sure if this is the word of the Lord or if that's not the word of the Lord is to make sure that you as a believer you are well drenched in scriptures.

That you know your word, that you spend time with the Lord, and that you are walking with the counsel of the Holy Spirit. The more you read your scriptures, the more you spend time with the Lord, the more the enemy will never try to speak to you because he knows, you know.

When you see people being fooled by fake prophets, it's because they don't know the word. Because if you know the word and you walk with the council of the Holy Spirit, it won't take you long to know nah, that's not from the Lord.

And we need to master this skill. And I'll tell you why we have to master it. One of the key words you hear over and over and over again in the New Testament is a phrase that says, do not be deceived.

Now, that phrase does not appear in the scriptures because God has nothing better to do. it appears in the scriptures a lot of times as a warning because it is going to happen otherwise there's no need to put it in the scripture and for God to warn us.

If this was not a thing, it's a thing and God has made sure that it gives one do not be deceived and the scriptures tells us in the end times deception is going to be rife. And a person who gets deceived, you never know that you've been deceived because that's why it's called deception.

The only time you find out you've been deceived is when you see the results of what was said and you realize, oh my God, I've been deceived. And we see all these people walking around saying, oh man, this man deceived us.

Well, we hear this scripture says, a lot of people are going to say, I was sent by the Lord. No, you did not or the Lord said this, and he did not. And those who do not know the word of God are going to fall victims to false prophets.

Fall victims to false prophets and right now this is rife in this country in fact all over the world oh the Lord saidM the Lord say and this is what causing people to believe things that you're like whenever minute.

You just need common sense to believe that but the reason why it's happening is because people that claim to know the Lord don't actually know him. We have we are living in a country where people who call themselves evangelicals.

In other words, we are part and parcel of this kingdom. We know the word. We have a relationship with God. We are living in a country where millions of people who conform to this pattern of behavior and thinking are actually being deceived.

Rather than the people that supposedly are not Christians. Why is that happening? It's because they don't know the Word of God. So your responsibility and my responsibility is to make sure that we thoroughly know the Word of God.

That's the first voice God gave us. The book first, you and I, He gave us the Bible. Then we have the aid of the Holy Spirit. Then He gave us Jesus to make sure that Him and us are connected.

And once connected thoroughly, you are never going to be deceived. Now, if you are that kind of a person, who's never going to be deceived. It does not just end there. We now have a responsibility to speak up.

This is what the Lord is telling Ezekiel. I want you to go and address these false prophets. Not just to not be deceived, but you have a responsibility to speak up against things that are supposedly from the Lord.

If we don't, that's when people get deceived. False prophets are everywhere right now and right now they have a free rein to say and to go around proclaiming what is supposedly to be the word of the Lord, but they were not sent by God.

Prophetic words are important, are needed, and are necessary for edification. That's what the scripture says to us. Every prophetic word is supposed to edify. In our time, which is now, we really should not be seeking prophetic words.

Because when we read the book of Mark 11, it talks about Jesus and John, and John, and Jesus is talking to his disciples about John, that John is the last one of them prophesied until, says all prophetic words and all prophecy was given until the coming of John.

Why does it end with John? Because that which was prophesied, which was Jesus, is now here. That's why the scripture says, they all prophesied until John. Because in this new era, we were given Jesus and His words are still with us to edify, to inspire us towards the desired goal that God has for humanity.

They needed prophets back then because they did not have Jesus. They did not have the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk and to counsel with. Right now we should live as close as possible to the Gospels and to the Word of God and to Jesus and the Holy Spirit because that's who is going to speak.

Am I saying, are we not ever going to receive prophetic words? Sure, we will. But I'll tell you this, one of the things that is ruined people and churches is fake prophets that comes and give a word and say the Lord said.

Because now people are following that word and then you realize it does not come to pass or your struggles to fulfill the word. Then people end up doing all kinds of stuff, just to establish and hope that God confirms.

This is the importance of the scripture, in passage, it says they're doing this in hope that God confirms. Not doing it because God said. So the lesson for today is for you and I to be so deep in our word that we will not be deceived.

Two, it's for us to speak against such things. That's our responsibility and those are the two lessons for us today. That we must not be deceived, and two, when we see deception, we must speak up.

Inasmuch as Ezekiel was given the word of God, he says, you, my friend Ezekiel, you're going to have to go and address these faith prophets and speak against them and warn them that you're not going to be part of what God is doing.

And that has been left for us to do, to speak up wherever we see injustices, to speak up whoever we see prophetic words that does not align with God's word. Let not somebody get deceived in our presence, Amen. Let us pray.

Heavenly Father, we thank you that all of our days are filled with opportunities to serve you. They are filled with opportunities to hear from you, to read scriptures, and to get to know you and understand you better.

Lord, I pray that as we near the end, that you strengthen us and continue to give us wisdom and guidance to deal with all the challenges that are coming our way. I pray today, especially against false prophets.

That are deceiving and speaking words that will entice others to follow or to do things in the name of the Lord, yet fully knowing well that God is not involved in them. So I pray, Lord, that you give us wisdom and understanding to stand against how the enemy uses others in order to further his interests.

Bless our hearing and bless our sight. Let the eyes of our heart be opened to see the purity and intent in which you have called us into, and also to identify when words are not from you.

Thank you for courage to speak up, courage to address issues and things that concern us. As believers. Thank you for giving us a voice in the midst of this chaos, to speak against things that are not of You.

And I pray for this day that You have given us, that as we go into it, may we be blessed mightily by Your Word, by what we see, and by what we hear. Give us the wisdom to know You better.

I pray, Lord, that may this be also extended to our children so they get to experience the same ratio of victory that you here are also experiencing. Father, we bless our children with good health, with wholeness, with great education.

We bless them by the mighty name of Jesus. Bless fathers, who bless mothers, who bless uncles, sisters, who bless nephews and cousins. And God, everything that is connected to us is blessed because we are blessed.

I pray, Lord, that there is no sicknesses and disease that are affecting us in the name of Jesus. And Lord, while we are at it, we pray for Nadia's mother, that may you help this family in these times, that you are healing her from this stroke, in the name of Jesus.

I pray, Lord, that We can claim healing as our portion, and we send it to St. Vincent Hospital for Nadia's mom who's dealing with this new thing. Father, I pray for the healing and we apply the blood of Jesus that she'll be whole again in the name of Jesus.

Strengthen all of us and equip all of us as we continue to live all these lives. Bless this day and bless everything that you've done for us and that you're still going to do. And we are so quick to give you thanks and to give you glory back unto you.

As we go throughout this day, help us to do your will, to not lead us into temptation, but to continue to deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever, Amen.

Brothers and sisters, may you all go and have an incredible phenomenal Monday and may the Lord bless this whole entire week and give you strength and wisdom.

And also the same thing, favor on your children, favor on your work, favor in the people that you meet, favor in the things that you do. May we have an incredible phenomenal Monday and we shall see you tomorrow morning.
