The Qualities Of God As Revealed In His Names
"ABBA - Father "
Good morning, good morning, a wonderful morning to everybody. I hope you had a wonderful night, well rested and of course, ready for another week. First and foremost, I just want to thank everybody for showing up yesterday and for God, you know, showing up for us.
You know it was really humbling that God will just indulge us in the way that he indulges and my prayer is that everybody received what the Lord wanted them to receive and that you will continue receiving what the Lord wants you to receive.
Because it is important that we continue to be filled every day because of the work that God has at hand for us to do, individually and corporately. So much appreciation to everybody.
And I know for some people who wanted to be here who could not, Dorothy and the sister they were traveling. My prayer is that yesterday wherever you were in your God visited you. And of course, we were thinking of you and we bless the Lord for you.
Well today I'm going to read the Book of Isaiah 61:2. But before I do, I just want to lay a little foundation here. So Isaiah 61:1 that is the same scripture that Jesus reads in Luke 4. So this is the first time that Jesus is speaking in a synagogue in Nazareth.
This is his hometown, but this is his first time. So as he stood up to speak, they handed him the Book of Isaiah. So mind you, at this point in time, they don't have Bible as we know it.
They have scrolls of different writers. Not compiled together or canonized together, they're just scrolls. So they hand Jesus the book of Isaiah and when he opened the book, the scripture says he found the place where it was written.
The spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and to recovery of sight to the blind. To set at liberty, those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
So Jesus stood up and he says I'm anointed. He's reading from the Book of Isaiah for the very first time in Nazareth. He gets up and he says I'm anointed to preach this gospel number one to the poor, to heal the broken hearted.
Liberty for captives, sight for those who are blind and liberty for those who are oppressed, oppressed. And lastly 5 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. This is what the gospel is supposed to do. This is what any good preaching is supposed to do.
So in other words, anytime you hear preaching from anybody, whether you are watching it online, whether you are hearing it in person. You have to look for these things is what's being said.
Healing my broken heart, am I being given liberty from my own captivities things that have captivate me can am I being given liberty for that? Am I being released from oppression? And then what we'll focus today is to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
Brothers and sisters the coming of Jesus Christ into the world is coming. Ushered in the acceptable year of the Lord and the acceptable year of the Lord simply means this the time of God's grace, redemption, and deliverance was now at hand when Jesus arrived into the world.
And after his arrival, he invited to come to Christ in repentance and by faith received the gift of eternal life. So Jesus coming into the world ushered the acceptable year of the Lord, which we are still living in.
Where God's grace, redemption and deliverance was given to the world for those who believe in faith and those who believe in Christ. So we are living in an age of grace and age of redemption and an age of deliverance.
That’s the acceptable year of the Lord. But yes, the other thing that comes with this year, the acceptable year of the Lord. That it also comes with the vengeance of the Lord for those who reject him.
This is why I believe you literally can be in hell living in this world right now, devoid of God's spirit. And you could stand condemned and judged if you refuse to accept Jesus as he brought with him grace, redemption, and deliverance.
So these three things are on offer for all of us grace, redemptive power of anything that we might have done over the years. We are being offered grace and redemption and deliverance from anything that might bind us.
That's why Jesus, when he stood up, he says I am anointed to preach this gospel, to heal the broken hearted, to get people out of captivity, to give them liberty, sight for the blind. Liberty for those who are oppressed.
To proclaim that this is now the year of acceptable, the acceptable year of the Lord. We are living in it and all these things are on offer. So what it means for us is that we have unprecedented amount of grace that God has poured out in this acceptable year.
And we have an unprecedented amount of redemption for the things that we might have done when we were in wrong and God says I have given you redemptive power and precedented in this acceptable year and deliverance.
So we can no longer walk in bondage. You should not be in bondage of any kind because we are living in an acceptable year of the Lord. So grace, redemption of things and deliverance from anything that binds us.
It is ours because it is the year that God proclaim that this is what I am going to do in the acceptable year of the Lord. It's like a president announces that this year we are going to make sure that everybody is taking care of.
This is the acceptable year. We are going to take care of everybody. It would be unwise to not heed that and say your truth about the things that you need help with. Because if that has been ushered in, this is the year where you can get whatever you desire to get.
It's unwise to not ask. So for us we need to understand that they just Jesus stepped foot on the earth. It started the acceptable year of the Lord where redemption, grace and deliverance was now at hand in a very unprecedented level and time.
That's why Jesus read the Book of Isaiah, because the scripture says they didn't give him where to read, he says when Jesus was handed the book of Isaiah, he found the place. It was a deliberate move for him to look for the place in the Book of Isaiah.
Where it was written and the spirit of God is upon me because I've been anointed to preach the gospel to the poor, to send to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty, to be captives, to recover or sight to the blind and to settle liberty those who were oppressed.
Now this same spirit that Jesus is saying on this particular day that the spirit of God is upon me to do these things in the acceptable year of our Lord Jesus of our Lord. Is also the same spirit, he said.
When I leave my Father's promises to send the Holy Spirit to you and I. Which is why yesterday we were gathered celebrating Pentecost. Because what took place or what Jesus was proclaiming in the book of Isaiah, that the spirit of God is upon me, is the same thing that now you and I can say.
The spirit of God is upon me in this acceptable year of the Lord and I'm going to walk in grace and I'm going to continue to be redeemed and to be delivered from anything that oppresses me.
So you and I can no longer walk under oppression. We can no longer walk being blind spiritually or otherwise. We can no longer be oppressed or broken hearted.
Or be poor because we are walking in the acceptable year of the Lord where these things are now prominent and available to everybody in an unprecedented way.
So what I'm saying to all of us, wherever the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty which means you and I, we are supposed to walk in the level of freedom. Spiritual freedom not man made freedom, spiritual freedom.
Knowing that we are living in the acceptable year of the Lord. Where redemption, grace and deliverance is literally our mandate in this year. That's the theme of the acceptable year of the Lord.
So I want us in the name of the Lord to enjoy his grace, to enjoy deliverance, to enjoy redemption because it has been ushered and offered since Jesus's arrival in the world, it is ours to walk in. It's ours to enjoy. Do not live in bondage.
Do not leave without freedom spiritual freedom. Do not live this life without grace because it was given and ushered in abundance when Jesus arrived into this world. And that's why the Holy Spirit was given. So that you and I all these things that were proclaimed in the acceptable year of the Lord.
We're not going to be hindered because the Holy Spirit was given as the antidotes to bring forth what was acceptable in the year of the Lord to make sure that it will be enjoyed, pushed for, and that it will take place and it will happen if it was the Holy Spirit that made possible.
That all these things that were promised in the acceptable year of the Lord will forever be ours. So brothers and sisters let us continue enjoying the Holy Spirit. And let us continue understanding what was ushered in and given to us in the acceptable year of the Lord, which we are all living since Jesus stepped foot into this world and until his return.
Let us pray. Heavenly Father we just want to thank you for your unbelievable grace, redemption and deliverance. We thank you for all that you have done and what you are still going to do.
You keep surprising us with your power, your authority, your visitation, and you keep indulging us in the things that you have pushed us to do and for that, we are grateful.
We are grateful Lord that we can make plans and put things together in faith and in belief that you will show up to continue to quench our souls.
So, Father, we thank you. For the love you have shown us. We thank you for the Grace you have given us the liberty to express ourselves in you, to enjoy the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
We thank you for all that you have done and what you're still going to do. We thank you for showing up yesterday. We thank you, Lord, that in the midst of all that, you still give us direction.
That in the midst of all that, you set our agendas aside so you can meet everybody wherever they are and what they need. So I pray, Lord that may we keep our eyes attentive in this acceptable year of the Lord.
So that everything you have set in motion for us to enjoy that will continue to hunger and thirsty after those things. So bless every family.
Bless everybody who showed up yesterday. Bless those who are connected to us, even though they might not have been there yesterday, bless them mightily.
We pray, Lord, that will come into a season of unanswered prayers. That everything that we have tabled on our on the throne of heaven, that God, you will be so quick to answer.
So we just want to appreciate you and to appreciate your presence and to appreciate how you set things in motion. Bless your matchless name, bless you, Holy Father.
Now I pray for this day, thank you for giving us new mercies for this day, and we pray for those who are travelling on these highways, Calvin and Veronica as they travel back to North Carolina, safe passageway.
No incident or accident, in fact, not incidental access on anybody on the roads today, bless our families. Bless every single person connected to us. May you continue to grow us as we put our efforts towards the growth of this Kingdom.
Knowing that it's you who are guiding us every step of the way. So we thank you for your sovereign authority. Now lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever, Amen.
Brothers and sisters may the Lord continue to bless you and remember, we are living in the acceptable year of the Lord where grace's redemption and deliverance has been made available to us in an unprecedented way.
So we cannot walk bondage, in captivity, blind or oppressed, or be poor. May the Lord bless you and may all have an incredible phenomenal week ahead of us in Jesus name, Amen.
