The Qualities Of God As Revealed In His Names

"El SHADDAI - God Almighty" (Part 3)

A wonderful morning to you, everybody. My prayer is that you had an incredible, phenomenal weekend and I also had a wonderful restful night and you are up and shiny and ready to go again for another day with the Lord, and another great week ahead of us.  

I know heat is coming in now and yesterday I was just sitting outside watching Ava play tennis and I couldn't believe how hot it was, but nonetheless, we are here. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we come before you this morning.  

We thank you for your goodness and your mercy towards us, we thank you for all that you have done and what you're still going to do in our lives. We thank you that you are our Father and we are your children.  

We acknowledge the supremacy of your name. The supremacy of your character, the supremacy of your thoughts for us, the supremacy of all that you have installed for us. And your word says tells us that your thoughts are higher than our thoughts. 

So Father we acknowledge that, knowing Lord that you are the author and the perfector and the finisher of our faith. So this morning, as we gathered together in fellowship, our goal Lord is to hear you.  

Our goal is to start our day acknowledging you and entering your courts with Thanksgiving. Knowing Lord that with you we find our hope, our life, our strength, our wisdom without you, we are nothing.  

So this morning, Lord, as we look at your word, we pray and give you honor and glory for all that you have done and what just you're going to do in Jesus name we pray, Amen. Today is Monday 23 and we are back at this name again.  

Remember we said between the month of June to July, we are fellowshipping and giving early morning devotion around God's names. With the goal that we get a clear understanding and revelation of who God is and why he has a plethora of names.  

So that for our enjoyment, our comfort, our knowledge, our wisdom, our understanding and strength that we have a greater understanding of who God is, the scripture says we should grow in the knowledge of who God is.  

So this is why we are studying these names so that we understand with greater level of our wisdom our relationship with God, Amen.

So we are back again, with the name El Shaddai, we talked about El Shaddai on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Almighty God and we saved the word El means God, Shaddai means almighty right.  

So today we are in Revelation 4:8-11. The four living creatures, each having 6 wings were full of eyes around and within and they do not rest day and night saying Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come.  

Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the 24 elders fall down before him.  

Who sits on the throne and worships him who lives forever and ever and cuffs their crowns before the throne, saying you are worthy, O Lord to receive glory and honor and power for you created all things and by your will they exist and were created.  

Now when we are reading this passage of Scripture here you can't help to notice that it's not written in past tense it’s written in the moment.  

So it says the four living creatures each having doesn't say each did have or were full of eyes around within him and they did not rest, saying Holy, Holy Lord God or might who was and is and is to come.  

Now the Almighty God name reflects the character of God, the supremacy of who he is. He is everything and as we looked last week, this name, all mighty God, encompasses all of God's characters.  

In other words, all the other names that God is called by is all included in the almighty God. And in order to show us that he has, he is a supreme being, undefinable and incredibly grander in his status that everything was created by him. 

I want you to imagine this, everything was created by him. And even the angels in the heavens day and night because of his supremacy they cry, holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty.  

Now angels were created before our time before Genesis 1 Angels were created. And they existed as they watched that's why the scripture says when God was creating the heavens and the earth, he says the sons of God were in attendance and they were all exalting him as he was doing it.  

So in other words, when God is creating the world, when he says let there be light, the Angels were in attendance. Watching the supremacy of God, birthing what we now see as our world and everything that is in it.  

So for us to kind of really understand this maybe we could look at from the angelic perspective when we are watching God creating everything that we now see and out of that, their reaction, their reaction, the reaction of the angels was to say Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty. 

And since that day since they were created, and since them observing God, this scripture is telling us they never cease to say Holy, Holy Lord God, oh, mighty, and they do this day and night nonstop worship because of his supremacy. Nonstop, every moment, even now.  

That's why I always say it's impossible to worship God alone because every time that you come to God in worship there is already a procession that's going on in heaven non-stop day and night.  

Hebrews 12:22 says you have come to the Heavenly Jerusalem, the city of our God, with innumerable number of angels in holy tendency and when John sees this revelation. This is this is this is John. The disciple in whom Jesus loves and he is writing after seeing Jesus after having an experience.  

A revelation of what was going on in heaven and he wrote from that perspective. And he says the supremacy of God that I witnessed and saw was that the Angels they were singing holy, holy Oh Lord God almighty.  

Now I want you to think about all of God's names. This is the one they are singing in heaven. They didn't say holy, holy oh God, they didn't say holy, holy Jehovah Rapha. They didn't say Holy, Holy Jehovah Sharma.  

They said Holy, Holy El Shaddai, almighty God. The all-encompassing God and from their perspective having witnessed God's creative power and supremacy. Since that time, they never stopped singing. Holy, Holy Lord God almighty.  

Which on our end makes us realize if we didn't know already or concretize the supremacy of who God is, that is not just us but there is angelic beings in heaven.

Who acknowledges this name and sings it day and night to show and in acknowledgement of who God is and his supremacy over everything that was ever created.  

That's who God is. That it's not just us other forms of beings angelic are aware of his supremacy. That they think day and night, so what does this mean to us? What it means to us is we are part of God's creation inasmuch as angels are part of God's creation.  

When they were created, we don't know it was before our time. Now as we watch, as we see God's interaction as we see angels interact. Now, here's the very interesting thing. Angels are lower in terms of hierarchy than us because God, we were created in God's image.  

The angelic we created the angelic image. That's why the scripture says, and all angels ministering spirit created for you and I, to aid in our work and in our faith and in our worship towards God. Angels were created for our enjoyment, as ministering spirits.  

We can call on them but the reality is that they don't go or do anything that is against God's will. Except the one that fell Satan, Lucifer, and the third of the other heavenly hosts that he took with him.  

So we are watching John is explaining to us what he saw in heaven. These angelic beings acknowledging the supremacy of God to an extent that they sin and they are still singing day and night. Saying Holy, Holy Lord God almighty, nonstop worship. Just because of his supremacy, El Shaddai.  

Now if we are greater than angels because the scripture refers to that, that we will judge angels if we are greater than angels. What then should be our reaction to the supremacy of God.  

We are great at beings, angels cannot decide what they want to do. They only do God's word. We on the other hand, we have free will. We get to choose whether we want to or not. That if we are to learn anything about the name, El Shaddai the Almighty God, if we are to reverence it.  

Don't you think we should do it better than the angels since we are greater beings created in his image in his own image? We were created in his own image. Hence I believe that we, on the other hand should purposefully, continuously without seizing,  

Paul says continuously without ceasing offer our prayers and offer our worship to God and his supremacy over it all. And again, it's in Daniel 4:17 during King Nebuchadnezzar's time. 

When he became belligerent thinking he is greater than God and God has to humble him after humble, it is during this time that this chaos was raining in Babylon, that a meeting is held in heaven.  

Through the angelic they had a meeting and they passed a decree. That’s why the scripture says by the decree of the Holy ones and the watchers and the watchers, which is a whole different classification of angels, he says by the Holy Ones and the watchers to the intent.  

So that the living may know that the most high rules in the Kingdom of man. And if that's the reality that his supremacy rules in our Kingdom as mankind.

Then I believe we ought to offer even a greater level of worship. Now look at what the scripture says to us. Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God.  

Now angels, according to my to my own studies and through the scriptures, there's not a point they were asked to offer their body as a living sacrifice, Holy and acceptable. We are asked to offer our bodies holy and acceptable as a living sacrifice.  

Why? Because we were created in God's image. Now, brothers and sisters remember when Jesus asked his disciples when he was asked about the tax? Says should we pay taxes or not? And he grabbed hold of the coin and he looked at it. 

And is asked the question whose image is on here. And it says the image is the image of Caesar. He says well is the image of Caesar because he created this coin, then Jesus response was then if that's the case, give Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and it was based on the image that was on the coin.  

So if his image is on the coin then give it to him. Now you and I were created in God's image. So we should give back to God what belongs to God, his image is in us. This is why our worship, God's desires, because we are giving back to him the supremacy of who he is, in which we are part of. 

And we have to give it back to him as a living sacrifice, offer your bodies to me God as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable. It's your reasonable. Listen to this language, guys, it's your reasonable form of worship, reasonable.  

El Shaddai, the supremacy of God. This should enhance, this would make us want to enhance our level of communication with God, our level of worship.

Our level of interaction with him. Because we are seeing what other beings do in acknowledgement of his supremacy and we, you and I are greater than the angels.  

So which means the level of worship and the level of interaction that God desires from us in acknowledgement of his supremacy. I believe should be greater than the angels.

Because we are asked to do something that other beings are not asked to do to offer their bodies. Offer your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable.  

Why do we have to offer it? Because we were created in his image. Give Caesar what belongs to Caesar and give God what belongs to God, which is the image that you were created in honor of his supremacy, El Shaddai.  

That's who God is, El Shaddai, the all-encompassing God. All those other names Jehovah, Rapha, Jehovah Shammah, Jehova Tsidkenu. All those names, most of them fall into El Shaddai. The almighty encompassing God.  

So brothers and sisters if we are to learn anything in today's morning devotion is that we have to continuously offer a greater level of worship that is acceptable as we honor his supremacy.  

And we are asked to do it by offering our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable, and that is just a reasonable it's a reasonable form of worship. Which means there are other levels of worship that we can get to as we acknowledge his supremacy Almighty God. 

John says I was in the spirit on the Lord's day by this time he is a blind man running from those who desire to kill him. While he is in hiding in Patmos, God opens his spiritual eyes and drawn have an encounter where he sees the heavens.  

And out of that what he saw was angels in holy assembly singing Holy, Holy God almighty. Out of all God's names this is the one that was singing the supremacy of God. The supremacy of God, Almighty God.  

So rothers and sisters this is a good way to start our Monday to start our week. Understanding the supremacy of God and what are the forms of being do as they encounter the supremacy of God.  

The Bible was written to us as a reference point so that what's in it we can take it and be it as we relate with God. So as we read this Scripture Revelations 4:8 we are being shown a reference point of what other beings do as they encounter the supremacy of God, El Shaddai, let us pray.  

Heavenly Father, our blessed Redeemer words cannot express the magnitude of who you are.

On our best day, we don't have any language or any words hence you asked us to offer our bodies because words are not enough to acknowledge your supremacy and all that you are the all-encompassing everlasting God.  

You are the same today, tomorrow you are never changing. You are God by yourself, Alpha and Omega the 1st and the last, the beginning and the end.  

There is no other, no other and you are worthy to receive glory and honor and power worthy and you created all things and by your will and pleasure, we exist.

We have no choice if you are to choose another way other than to follow in line but you God, with all our iniquities You still, but allow us to live.  

So that we can raise these hands of clay and worship you in all your supremacy. We lift up our spirits and our hearts towards heaven. We set our eyes on you for you are supreme in everything that you do.  

We thank you that even in your supremacy your love for us is far reaching. We can't even define it. There is no way we can go where your presence is not. We can't define how wide, how deep your love is for us. Almighty God, El Shaddai the great I am.  

We thank you, Heavenly Father for your love and for all you have done for us who are we that you are mindful of us? That in our frailties you engage us, in our iniquities you indulges. 

Even though our thoughts are evil at times yet with all the power that you possess you still but yet allow us to live. So we can enjoy the fellowship that you desire from us.

Thank you for salvation for making this possible to enter your courts to stand before you supreme God. Have access to you, how wonderful you are to us.  

So we bless, you Lord. We bless you that you created us in your own image. We bless you, but you see us, no problem whatsoever locating us and we bless you for it. So Heavenly Father, as we start this week, as we go through this day.  

Thank you for giving us a reference point of what other beings offer in worship as they encounter the supremacy of El Shaddai. Help us in our efforts to worship you. Sometimes our efforts are not good enough.  

But you Lord as we try our best to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, we know we have an advocate who continuously present us to the Father as holy and acceptable. Sitting at the right hand of you is Jesus.  

He is an advocate with the Father. So we bless you that you have created systems that are in place just to accommodate us mere mortals. Thank you for salvation. Father, we bless you.  

We bless you, we bless you, we bless you. Now as we go through this day. We pray for this country. There is nothing that you can't see that is going on. Meetings that are held in secret chambers. Hearts of men that are far from you.  

Running this country, inflicting pain and challenges all across this world. We ask for your forgiveness and we understand, Lord, that the answer is with us. If my people who were called by my name humble themselves, seek your face, turn from their wicked ways.  

Then you would hear from heaven and heal this land. So our eyes, Lord, are locked on you. We pray that you raise amongst us godly men and women who care about spiritual things and the plight of mankind.  

We pray for those who are affected with decisions that the few make, thousands are killed daily because of the person who's sitting in an office somewhere. Father, we pray that may you be with the families that are dealing with grief, of lost loved ones.  

We know we are living in end times. Help us, Lord to see you for who you are and help those who don't know you seek you while you are still near and you still can be found.

Father, I pray we are sick and tired of leaders who are constantly causing challenges and problems.  

Because of their own egos or internal issues. So, Father, come to our aid, come to our aid, rescue us from bad ideas that we are subjected to by those who are in charge of countries. 

Help us to deal with this devil causing chaos, havoc, maiming people. Hunger and disease, death and hell, send your angels on assignment. We call on them to Minister to those who need to be ministered to.

Go to war on our behalf for we know we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against rulers and principalities in heavenly places.  

So come, Lord and do our billing for us in Jesus name we pray, Amen. Now as we go through this day, Bless us, lead us not into temptation, deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the Kingdom, the power in the glory, forever and ever, Amen.  

Brothers and sisters El Shaddai, the supremacy of God. Let's walk this journey of faith aware that we belong to El Shaddai and we were created in his image and give back to God what belongs to God, his worship.
