The Qualities Of God As Revealed In His Names
"El GIBHOR - Mighty God"
Good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning. I hope you had a wonderful night, well rested and ready for another day. Let us go to the Lord in prayer. This is the day the Lord has made. We are rejoicing in it and we are glad in it.
We thank the Lord for being our God and us being his children. His word dwells in us richly. He has given us the Holy Scriptures as a divine book to reveal himself.
So that we get to know him with thank God, the Father, our Father, Adonai, Jehovah, Rapha, Jireh, who is all things to us and what a name we can stand on.
The place we can run into and find safety in him, we find ourselves, in him we find hope, in him we find love, in him we find strength, wisdom and knowledge, in him we find grace, in him we find love.
Tender mercies every single morning provided to us, in him we find insight, knowledge, wisdom. So, Father, we thank you for your holy Matchless name, we thank you, Lord, that you are all things to us, without you, we are nothing.
And we bless you for being the God, who is everlasting, constant, never changing, always there, never late, always on time. You are not moved by circumstances but you hold it all together. Nothing surprises you.
You are just the Father God by yourself. There is no beginning and there is no end. You are the Alpha and the Omega not bound by time. And yet, with all of that, you love us and we love you.
So we thank you for this relationship that we have with you, that you have allowed us and given us access to this invisible Kingdom and we feel welcomed. We feel part of something massive and we thank you for including us in all that you are doing in the Earth.
So, Father, this morning, as we look at you as we fellowship with one another as we fellowship with you, we pray, Lord, that your spirit be with us because we know our efforts have no meaning if your presence is not with us, so we bless you and honor you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
Today we are studying and fellowshipping around the name. El Gibbor is spelled El Gibhor or El Gibbor. This name every time you will read the Scriptures and you see the word mighty God, the translation of mighty God is El Gibbor, Mighty God.
Psalms 24:8 as a reference, Isaiah 9: 6 is another reference scripture, Jeremiah 32:17-18 is another scripture, Psalms 24:8 says who is this glorious king? Adonai strong and mighty, Adonai mighty and better.
Then Isaiah 9:5 this is the prophetic word Isaiah gives to the nation. Says for a child is born to us, a son is given to us. Dominion will rest on his shoulders and you will be given the name Pele-joez-el-gibbor. Wonder of a counselor, mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of peace.
The mighty God Adonai God. This is Jeremiah 32:17, says Adonai God, you made heaven and earth by your great power and outstretched arm, nothing is too hard for you. You display your grace to thousands, but also repay the guilt of the Fathers into the lap of their children who followed them.
Great, powerful God, whose name is Adonai, El Gibbor. So every time you see in the scriptures where it says Mighty God. We are getting one of God's qualities. Brothers and sisters when you look at our world and you see the things that are going on.
You can help to recognize that there is a spiritual battle that is, taking on that is going on in the heavens. That behind every chaos, there is a spiritual battle. Behind if you see an organization, there is a spiritual battle,
If you see a house that is filthy, there is a spiritual barrier, poverty, there's a spiritual battle, war, spiritual battle. Now this scripture has already told us that we wrestle or not against flesh and blood, but against rulers and principalities and powers in the heavenly realm.
Wrestle not against rulers and principalities now this mighty battle that we see that we hear of, or this mighty God we hear, he is mighty and powerful spiritually, that God has an incredible spiritual army. That fight battles for him. It’s not a physical battle.
God is the mighty, again we always want to remember that what we what governors spiritually is more greater than what governs us physically. So when we say mighty God, we are being reminded that he is a God of war spiritually.
That there is always this constant battle that is going on between good and evil hence God names himself mighty God, because he is always prevailing in this spiritual battle. God is never going to lose, ever.
He doesn't have any casualties in his in his army, even when Satan thinks he wins, God has won. He never loses anything because he is mighty, how can a being that created everything lose any battle. He doesn't lose any battle.
So in our growing weary, this is why this word mighty God is given because as I was looking through scriptures you realize that when humanity grows weary that's when we get the name mighty God.
So when Isaiah writes or gives this prophetic word about a mighty God about the coming of the Messiah, the mighty one. He is alluding to the fact that this spiritual battle of this nation is going through right now God has already made a plan to win this battle. So he gives the prophetic word about a mighty God.
So when you see this word. We are being reminded that we will grow weary in this spiritual battle that we find ourselves part of but God is mighty. He is not going to lose this battle.
So it is a reminder of God's qualities that is incredibly triumphant spiritually and in everything that he does so he is mighty.
Again, if you. I'm sure throughout our life we have seen either documentaries or a heard of mighty armies or growing up being in school you read books that talks about mighty armies that the Roman Empire was an A mighty army.
The Greeks at some point had a mighty army. And those armies are well known, and it is well documented about how incredibly vicious they were. Now when you think about that and then you realize how mighty they were and you realize also that God's power supersedes all of the armies of the world combined.
It's supersedes that do when we see mighty God there is a reality or we should be comforted with the fact that God is mighty and he can do anything anywhere, anytime and win the battle.
So the challenges that we see, the things that we hear, the stuff that's going on in this nation. Sometimes we can grow weary. We can look at it and feel like men this is a hopeless situation.
Until you come across this name was God, El Gibbor. That he is the mighty God, which means that at any given moment we can triumph. Now, brothers and sisters when you read scriptures right, there are barriers that we see in the scriptures.
Where it seems incredibly daunting and difficult yet God, when he shows up and comes the barrels are one so easily. Let's look at Egypt. The children of Israelite are in Egypt for 400 years of hard slavery.
Moses comes along. Pharao is belligerent about letting them go. What rescued the children of Israel out of Egypt was a mighty God through Moses, using a walking stick. That's how mighty God is.
That you didn't have to form an army with the children of Israel in order to fight for their freedom out of Egypt. He uses a walking stick. That's how mighty God is.
David, the Nation of Israel is in war with Palestine and they are in the valley and Goliath for 40 days and 40 nights is howling all kinds of stuff towards the nation of Israel.
It gets to a place where nobody and the whole entire nation wants to fight this man. Look at mighty God. Mighty God uses David to defeat a whole entire army that a whole entire nation was afraid of using a slingshot and the little pebble from the beach, mighty God.
King Jehoshaphat sends a singing army. He put the Levites ahead of the army and they worshipped God and mighty God shows up, no casualties. They get to Jericho and it seems this wall cannot be penetrated at all.
They walk around the wall for 7 times and shouted. And the wall comes down, mighty God. So when God is revealing himself to us and he's telling us his qualities, I want to again, let's always remember this.
The Bible if a self disclosure book where God is revealing himself to us, his quality is who he is to us and what he is capable of and in it we see stories of how his name or why he has that name.
So when we see mighty God. There are reference points in the scriptures that shows that surely he is mighty. Cannot be stopped that when the fullness of time has come. It's impossible to stop him.
That's how mighty he is. No one is like you all, Lord. You are great and your name is mighty in power that’s Jeremiah 10:6. May our Father enable us by his spirit of grace to turn our eyes away from our difficulty instead to focus steadfast on Messiah's great name, mighty God. Indeed, he is a great God, El Gibbor, mighty in battle.
That's who God is. Now remember what we said at the beginning of this week of this of last week. That he is not part mighty or easy part Elion or is he pop Yahweh or is he part Jehovah Shalom.
No, he is the totality of all these names. He is not part, he is not sometimes no he is all things at every moment in every juncture. My prayer is that this week and this month, as we study these things, we find comfort in understanding God's names in these qualities.
His name possesses the qualities of who he is to us. He is our Father. This is our Father. We all at some point growing up we had fathers. Some are no longer here. But every child looks at their father as a superhero.
That he can do no wrong and they want to be like him so much. That's who God is to us. That's how we should look at him. That's why we all these things that we do for our natural, the way we look at our natural Fathers.
It's the same. It is the end. The way we look at God, we get our ideas from him. So which means when we call him Abba Father. We are looking at him as this grand being that can do no wrong, mighty powerful.
That he has already won the spiritual battle he has already won it. So let us all be encouraged, comfort it. That with all this stuff that we hear the bombing in Iran, the war in the Middle East, Ukraine. The riots or no riots, whatever it is that we are seeing.
Let us always remember that God is mighty. That he can do anything, anywhere, anytime including today. So things being prolonged does not mean he is not mighty. Challenges continuing does not mean he is not mighty.
It just means that in how God assesses things and how everything is connected. He has his seasons and his times why things have to be prolonged or not prolonged based on his timetable.
That's why these scriptures always tells us when the fullness of time had come, when the fullness of time of this era has come. God will show forth his mighty power and all what's spiritual will understand.
So do not be discouraged, be comforted that God is sovereign and is mighty. Let us pray. Heavenly Father through your wisdom, you have furnished yourself with incredible qualities. All for us to enjoy and to understand and to get to know you in all of your glory.
We thank you that you are mighty and powerful, just unstoppable. You do all things well and right, you are God by yourself. Nothing seems too hard. Nothing is hard for you. You already have won this spiritual battles and we know that through all that, our job is to enforce the victory of the cross.
So I pray, Lord, that may we never lose the focus of knowing, that you have already won. Thank you for great grace. We thank you for you're anointing that rest upon us. So that every spiritual battle and every yoke is broken.
We thank you for divine purpose that is accompanied by this name. That will God give us things to do in spite of the opposition that we face. You have already given us in our quiver your name, mighty God.
To remind us that everything that is on our agenda to do that came from you cannot be stopped because you are mighty in battle. You have already told us we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against rulers and principalities in the heavenly places.
And Father, we understand without a shadow of doubt that battle has already been won because you are mighty and our job is to enforce it through our knowledge and our understanding.
So, Father, I pray that, even though fear, worry and anxiety comes to our doorsteps sometimes. But we stand encouraged with the full knowledge that you are mighty. You are a strong tower.
We can run into you and find safety on Christ the solid rock we stand immovable, that's who you are. You have shown us in the Holy Scriptures time and time again how you have defeated even some of the strongest armies ever assembled in this world. How you have shown your power over these centuries, how incredibly mighty you are.
So, Father, we are grateful that we have a Father who can never be defeated, you stand alone and we thank you for this divine name that you gave yourself in order to reveal yourself to us through our faith, our understanding is enhanced.
So we thank you for wisdom and we thank you for the courage to stand knowing fully well that your sovereign authority supersedes it all. So, Father, I pray for every family and every child who might be dealing with any challenges.
That today we apply the name Mighty God El Gibbor to every situation and every challenge that our children might be facing, we apply the name El Gibbor to every family for every challenge and every battle spiritual role of physical.
That God is mighty strong in battle. We apply El Gibbor to every challenge anyone of us might be dealing with. Father, we thank you and we bless your holy name. Thank you for who you are to us.
We stand comforted and we stand with wisdom and knowledge and understanding of who you are. May you continue to grow us in our knowledge and wisdom as we continue to walk this journey of faith. Continue to open our eyes to spiritual things and continue to give us understanding that you've already won.
So, Father, as we go through this day lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever, Amen. Brothers and sisters may the Lord bless you.
May the Lord walk with you. May the Lord strengthen you. May God give you wisdom above all else and may continue to remind you of how powerful he is and mighty he is.
So that as we look at our situations and as we look at his name we realize our situations are no match whatsoever to who he is.
Let’s all have a wonderful and awesome day. Walk in expectation, look for him. He is every where. May the Lord use you and let us all have a good day in Jesus name, Amen.
