The Qualities Of God As Revealed In His Names
"Ezekiel 48:35 Jehovah Shammah -The Lord Is There"
Good morning, good morning, good morning everybody, my prayer is that you had a wonderful night. You are well rested and ready for another exciting day. Let us go to the Lord in prayer. Father, we welcome you this morning.
We welcome your presence. We welcome your direction. We welcome your faithfulness. We welcome new mercies, we receive new mercies this morning for the promises new mercies, I give you every morning so far that we receive new mercies for this morning.
We thank you for what you have in store today, the agenda that you have throughout the world. Some are already in it and we are just coming behind. But we believe, Lord, that you have a plan for this day and we rest our laurels in it, knowing Lord that you are constantly guiding us towards victory.
So we thank you this morning for being our Father and us being your children. We bless you mightily for your hand on our lives. For your anointing, that enables us to do things that you have called us to do. We bless you for strength, wisdom and courage to face this challenge in life.
We bless you, Lord, that you are our hero. We bless you, Lord, that you know all things. You see all things you are never late, you are always on time. So, Father, today, as we look into this world continue to bless us spiritually.
Help us to grow, help us to understand, help us to know you well. So that our journey as believers is continuously enhanced. And we pray this prayer, knowing that you are attentive to us in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
Brothers and sisters, today we are looking at Jehova Shammah. Now this name is a promise that God made to the children of Israelite. When they returned from exile and after the land distribution had taken place God then names himself Jehovah Shammah for them.
In other words, I'm always going to be there, ever present and before we really kind of go in deep into this, let's go back to the garden of Eden. In the Garden of Eden, we always say Genesis 2 is the prevailing atmosphere which God wanted humanity to exist in.
Untainted, everything executed in his constructive way. Then do what God says and God hears men. God comes down, hangs out with men. That's what he wanted humanity to exist under. Genesis 3 happens and God distanced himself from mankind.
Next time he speaks to a man after Genesis 3 is when a brother had killed his brother. Cain and Abel and from then onwards God chose to visit people or show up at different junctures in order to instruct, anoint somebody to do something.
That shows up with Moses. So you could go rescue the children of Israel and we remember Moses prayed and says we are not going anywhere if your presence isn't with us.
He doesn't say that if God is with them constantly. So which meant that God no longer was with humanity other than he would come and shore up a certain places certain times through certain individuals to perform a task or something that needed to be done.
The children of Israelite ends up in exile because of disobedience. When they returned snd the on their return after the 67 years in exile. They are now in their land and there is a land distribution that goes on.
And then through that passage of scripture in Ezekiel 48, He then names himself Jehovah Shammah or this name we see it in that moment where he says I will always be there. And is carried out in the New Testament.
When a promise is made that I will never leave you nor forsake you, in other words, we're going to return back to the way things used to be in the Book of Genesis 2 that I will always be there. Hence Jehovah Shammah, ever present.
Brothers and sisters, there is no place or there is no place you can go where God is not present. He is our ever present God in everything that we find ourselves doing or saying. Now being present I always say is the best gift you can ever give anyone, being present. In order for anything to happen, you have to be present.
So God naming himself Shammah the ever present is an indication to you and I. That is, constant presence is never going to leave us, neither is he ever going to forsake us. The challenge that we have is sometimes we forget that he is ever present.
And our forgetfulness I believe comes from one thing. And that is focusing on challenges rather than on him and I'm guilty of that sometimes when you are under pressure and you are in the middle of something.
Your focus is on what needs to be done. Until once in a while the sleeve knocks you in the head and say hey I'm right here, I'm ever president. I'm walking with you right now.
So there's moments where our panics kick in and we forget that God is present. It's so amazing to me how in a moment of panic sometimes we yell out Jesus and that is because spiritually there is an inclination in us that knows that he is ever present.
But sometimes we just forget that God is in everything that we are doing. His eye is on the sparrow, watching every second, every moment, everything that we are taking, everything that we are in.
That is so comforting knowing that he sees everything and he is everywhere. He is ever present. Now, brothers and sisters there are moments and times where his presence is so strong. Maybe because something needs to happen but it does not mean that he is not present at certain moments.
For example, when we gathered on Pentecost Sunday. We saw God's presence manifest but shortly before we started maybe 3 hours before that, it does not mean God was not present.
It just meant for this moment, he really wanted to make himself known, but it does not mean he was not present. So he is Jehovah Shammah in everything that we are doing he is Jehovah Shaman in every place that you find yourself in. He is forever there, never going to leave, never going to forsake and to strengthen this cause of his presence in our lives.
He sent Jesus to die on the cross so that ultimately when he returns back to heaven, we get as an exchange the Holy Spirit to work with us, to be with us, to be at Council in everything that we do, everything that we do, not some everything that we do.
So brothers and sisters I want to encourage you as we continue to learn these names. And I'm sure we are seeing and understanding the vastness of who God is to us.
Why he has all these names in order to meet all our needs, according to his riches in glory. He is Jehovah Shammah. Ever present God, always in our midst. Encouraging and inspiring, pushing us to go the way he desires for us to go.
And the most important thing for us is to remember that he is ever present. Again the challenge for us is that sometimes we forget or sometimes we don't look his way. That's why the scripture says grace is found in his eyes.
So our prayer is that we remain attentive to the fact that he is Jehovah Shammah, ever present, always on time, never late, never late. Sometimes we think that he is late, but he is not. He is working all things for you and I.
Making sure that where we stand is in line to what he wants us to become and to do. So my prayer is that we keep our eyes on him. My prayer is that we keep our focus on the fact that he is present. That God is right there with you in everything that you do, even though sometimes it feels like he is not.
He is right there. It’s a promise that he made and he acted upon it then he sent Christ and ultimately the Holy Spirit. So that this promise is made possible in our lives. So let's continue turning our eyes away from worthless things and directing it in the path of his presence.
And when we do that we will find him. We will see him differently. We will see and interpret situations differently. There's times when I'm going through my little issues and I'm quick to remind myself that if I can see it, he sees it better.
If I can see that struggle, he sees it better. And I'm sure he has a plan and the way out for me. I just need to keep looking because when I look at him, when I see the Lord, my circumstances, the way I think, the way I see automatically changes.
So brothers and sisters, he is in everything that we are doing. He is a constant present in your life to make sure that your journey, your journey is made easy. And again, do not forget brothers and sisters we are part of a massive Kingdom.
Where God has put things in place to support his presence in our lives. We have angels to support Jehovah Shammah. With God and angels that walk with this to support the idea that he will never leave us.
Send to our aid even in times when we forget that he is present. God send angels on assignment to reinforce that he is Jehovah, Shammah always present. That's how vast and massive the Kingdom of God is.
That when God names himself Jehovah Sharma, he makes everything in our world support that name. Think about the times when somebody shows up unexpectedly, to help you or God send something to help you in a moment of need, it’s because he is Shammah.
He is present and he is able to direct and to redirect and to send angels on assignment. To reinforce the fact that he is ever present and constant helper in our lives. That's why I believe we can never fail.
We can never fail, we can never fail. Because he is the constant helper, it's constant present in our lives, so it's impossible to fail, Amen. Let us pray, dear Heavenly Father, our blessed Redeemer.
We are so encouraged with the names that you have given us to call on you in every single situation. I'm sure God, you accounted for all the things we will ever go through in life and you named yourself solutions to the problems we shall face.
When we are sick, we can call your name Jehovah, Rapha. When we are lost, we can call Jehovah Shammah the ever present one. So we thank you, Lord for making yourself available to us again. Where you will never leave, you will never forsake.
Thank you, Lord, for your grace, your love that can never separate us from you. And we are grateful that we can call on you and you will show up. Even so strong and make your presence felt and known so strong in order to emphasize that you are everywhere in our lives.
So I pray, Lord, that as we continue this journey of faith, as we walk by faith and not by sight. Continue to enhance us in wisdom, in grace, in love. May we grow in our capacity to handle and to hold holy things.
Pray for wisdom, courage, determination, knowing that we have the support of God behind us. But I pray for these your people., may you continue to bless them in every way imaginable. Their children, their families, their ideas.
I pray for your presence to be strong in their lives, in their families, life in their children's lives, grand Children's lives. That when we call on you that you will respond for you a Jehovah Shammah. Our eyes are on your Lord as we leave out this world, our eyes are on you.
We pray, Lord, for your grace, for your anointing, for your love. We pray, Lord, that you are comforting us. Pray Lord that you are strengthening us in the name of Jesus. So as we go throughout this day, be with us, council us, walk with us.
Open our eyes to see where you need us to step. Strengthen our minds, encourage us, he help us to see something so clearly so we know the path we ought to take. Remove haziness in our eyes.
So that we can interpret this gospel and what you are saying to us the right way. I pray, Lord, that may you continue to heal us. May you continue to heal our parents. Anyone who's attached to us who may be sick.
I pray Lord for healing of the soul of the mind of the body in the name of Jesus. Thank you for strength for our seniors. Help them in this in this heat in the name of Jesus. We pray for every single one of our seniors that God be with you, no incidents in the name of Jesus.
If there's anything we are dealing with emotionally, I pray Lord that you send peace angels on assignment to bring emotional healing from past mistakes or past challenges in the name of Jesus. I pray for ideas that enhance this walk.
So that we are forever found in your presence doing what you called us to do. We thank you for good health for all of us, good health, wisdom and understanding of spiritual things. Knowledge of the holy one.
We will continue to grow and holy things, in the name of Jesus. Father, I pray for this day in particular may we feel you in everything that we do. May you remind us that's your constant presence in our lives, even in the smallest things. So that we are encouraged in this walk. We bless you and honor you in the name of Jesus.
Now lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever, Amen. Brothers and sisters he is Jehovah Shammah, ever present in everything that you are doing.
When it looks gleam, just look up, his eyes on the sparrow, watching us. He's right there with you in everything that you are doing. May the Lord bless you. May the Lord bless your families. May the Lord bless your grandchildren and all your ideas.
May he supply all your needs according to his riches in glory and we thank you in Jesus name, may you all have a great day.
