In The Presence Of God/The Lord

"Ezekiel 3:26-28 - This Was The Appearance Of The likeness Of The Glory Of The Lord"

A very good morning to you. I hope you had a wonderful night. You are well rested and you are ready for another day. Let us go to the Lord in prayer. Heavenly Father, we come before you today. We thank you for your goodness and your mercy towards us.

We thank you for your everlasting presence, a gift to us human beings, to be able to experience what we lost, where our forefathers lost in the garden. So as we come this morning, we come with full confidence that our efforts have no meaning if your presence is not here.

So Father we are excited that every morning we get to enjoy your presence and devote this time to you so that you can speak to us and prepare us for the day as we receive our new mercies.

So in this morning, as we look at your word, help us to understand, open the eyes of our understanding. So that we can see you, we can hear you clearly. We thank you for your grace.

We thank you for your love and we thank you for your hand upon our lives in Jesus name we pray, Amen. Brothers and sisters, we are looking at the presence of God and the interactions that God had in the scriptures with other mankind and when his presence showed up.

And in order for us to really kind of understand why this is necessary we always want to remember what took place in the Garden of Eden God separated himself from Adam and Eve. That's when him his presence departed from them.

And from that time up to Jesus, God was appearing to different ones in different times in order to give an instruction or a word to the nation or to the people group to the people group.

And which means that it was a privilege and an honor if God was to visit a person in order for them to experience his presence, what we see in the Old Testament in most occasions is God opening someone's eyes and in most cases what you see, they are seeing the throne.

Yesterday we talked about Isaiah and he saw the throne and we're about to see Ezekiel in his interaction with God, because he had a job for him to do now. Let us remember this God does not show up because he has nothing better to do.

His presence is usually accompanied by something. Either he is giving an instruction, either he's elevating someone, either he is encouraging someone to do something and that's when his presence usually is thick.

We are privileged in that we walk with him, because he says now I will never leave you nor forsake you because of what Jesus did on the cross and the gift of the Holy Spirit. So we are constantly in tune.

We are constantly hearing or experiencing what these men in the Old Testament, the selected few we're experiencing in their interaction with God, that's now something for us to enjoy because of what Jesus did on the cross.

This is why Paul says this man who lived in the Old Testament wish they had what we have, which is the experience of the Holy Spirit daily and also the interaction with God at any given moment. Not specific times or specific areas, or when God desires to do something.

But nonetheless even though we enjoy the Holy Spirit every single day, we all know there is times when God shows up so strong and most times he is coming to encourage, inspire, instruct judge a situation.

So that what he desires or what he needs done is done. This is why, when we had our Pentecost Sunday, the word of the Lord from that Pentecost Sunday was that I'm trusting you with handling holy things.

So here we are now in Ezekiel 1 and I think it's fair to read this chapter and understand this first interaction that Ezekiel has with God, in my 50 year in the fourth month on the 5th day, while I was among the Exiles by the Chebar River.

The heavens were open and I saw visions of God, not a vision, visions. So he has multiple visions of God on the 5th of month, this was so strong that Ezekiel remembered the day the time of the month and where he was on the 5th month.

It was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin. The word of the Lord came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi by the Chebar River in the land of Babylonians. There the hand of the Lord was on him.

I looked, and I saw a wind storm coming out of the north and in immense clouds with flashing lights surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like a glowing metal, and the fire was what looked like four living creatures in appearance there, in their form was human.

But each of them had four faces and four wings, their legs were straight, their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze under their wings on their 4th size they had human hands, all four of them had faces and wings, and the wings of one touch the wings of another, each one went straight ahead.

They did not turn as they moved, their faces looked like each of their four. Go ahead and each of the four are the faces of a human being, and on the right side of the face of a lion, and on the left face of the ox.

Each also had the face of an eagle. Such was their faces, the easier 2 wings spreading out upward, each wing touching of the creature on the other side, and each had two other wings covering his body.

Each one went straight ahead wherever the spirit would they will go without taming as they went. The appearance of the living creatures was like burning cause or fire or like torches fire moved back and forth among the creatures.

It was bright lightning flashes out of it. The creatures spread back and forth like flashing lightning as I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground besides each creature with his four faces.

This was the appearing the structure of wheels. They sparkled like toppers and all four looked alike, each appearance to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel, as they move, they would go in and out of their four directions.

The creatures, the wheels did not change direction as the creatures went, the rims were high and wholesome and all four rims were full of ice, all around, when the living creatures move the wheels beside them moved and the living creatures rose from the ground, the wheels also rose.

Wherever the spirit would go, they would go and the wheels would rise along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. When the creatures moved, they also moved when the creatures stood still, they also stood still, and the creatures roars from the ground.

The wheels rolled along with them Because the speed of the living creatures was in the woods spread about spread out above the heads of the living creatures was what looked something like a vault, sparkling crystals and awesome under the vault, their wings were stretched out one towards the other.

Each had two wings covering its body. When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings like the rolling rushing waters, like the voice of the Almighty, like the tumult of an army.

When they sit still, they lowered their wings when there came. Then there came a voice from above the vault over the head as they stood with the lower wings above the vault. Over the heads was what looked like a throne lapis lazuli and high above all the throne was a figure.

Like that of a man I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up, he looked like growing metal is it full fire and then from there down it looked like a fire and brilliant light surrounding him that the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day.

So was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord when I saw it, I faced down, I fell face down and I heard the voice of one speaking. Brothers and sisters what we just read, it sounds like a movie.

This is what Ezekiel saw in the presence of God, and he God is showing this for one reason. So that he can be his voice moving forward. So all this is to grab Ezekiel's attention to give reverence to the moment in which he is standing because you my son, Ezekiel.

What I'm about to send you to do. I need your undivided attention so God shows him, this incredible phenomenon vision where there's lightning and there's wheels, there's angels, there's four wheels and four faces, eagles and lions.

So he’s seeing a plethora of things. So that he is not mistaken that this is the Lord and I want you to do something. This is so that you will never forget what I'm about to do with you so that if there's ever any doubt at some point in your course of executing what I'm calling you to execute.

I want you to look back and think back to this moment of course what Ezekiel is seeing has made authors and different things that are being thrown in there for him to figure out and to understand why the Lord has chosen this moment and this time for him to do what he's about to call Ezekiel to do.

Again, the thing that I want us to get our way out of this particular passage of Scripture is that God and his presence are so in tuned to what he once executed.

That he has to show up and show us things in order to make the moment iconic in our hearts and in our minds so that if there is ever any doubt moving forward.

When I'm telling you what to do, you can go back to this day and this moment as a reference point. So that you know, I am serious about what it is I am instructing you to do. The presence of God does not come cheap.

Because when you read the book of Ezekiel and you see what God's instruction to Ezekiel was in Chapter 3 is talking about, if you don't want a person then I'm coming for you. If I tell you to do something and you don't go and do it, I'm coming for you.

If somebody dies because you did not want them, I'm coming for you. But at the very onset of this mission God shows Ezekiel this phenomenal vision. So that you will never forget this moment for my instructions as they come. Here's a reference point.

So most times God's presence comes with a reference point. This is why as we read scriptures all you hear especially on the onset of these chapters, there's a specific time, a specific day or any specific year of something that took place in that year yesterday, Isaiah says in the year that King Uzziah dies.

So the reference point is that in that particular day I saw the Lord and I'll never forget it because it happened when in the year that King Uzziah died, he said, you will never forget it because of this image that you saw.

So as you read and if you read through the book of Ezekiel. He speaks fervently about what the Lord is saying. He never skips a bit, why? Because this iconic moment was forever stamped in his heart and his mind about who God is and what he wants to do.

Again, this is before Jesus time you and I we are able to experience his spirit. Every single day and the days when it becomes overwhelming and thick in his presence is because he's trying to give a word so that as we move forward.

We should never forget these moments because on that particular day, something was inked and mocked in the heavens. On this day this was mugged in a Ezekiel 's mind to cause sun what I'm about to do with you.

I need your undivided attention and I need you to execute what I need you to execute. So as we go throughout this day, the wisdom behind this, if you ever experience God Spirit or a God's moment, or he ever experienced God's presence.

Don't leave empty handed rather ask the Lord what is it you want me to execute moving forward and God is so diligent enough to give you instructions and as you proceed, do not forget what the Lord said to you.

This is a constant reminder to all of us, including me because God's presence does not come cheap. It comes because God has a desire to do something that he needs executed in his right way. Let us pray.

Father we thank you that you love us so deeply. That you care so much to open our eyes to experience unspeakable truth through visions and dreams and experiences. So that we can receive from you instructions on how to live and to operate.

So today a simple prayer Lord help us when we receive your presence to do that which you are calling us to do the way you are calling us to do it, because we know your presence does not come cheap, it comes with instructions we see throughout Scripture.

And we want to be wise enough to follow what you have called us to follow because we know in your presence there is fullness of joy and there are pleasures forevermore. We never want to miss the fullness of joy and the pleasures forevermore.

So now, as we go throughout this day, continue to help us in our pathways as we do what you have called us to do. Let your grace over bear us, overshadow everything that we are trying to do.

Now unto you we commit this day and ask you to take us throughout this day to open our eyes to things that you desire, for us to see. Now lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one, for thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever, Amen.

Brothers and sisters continue enjoying the presence of the Lord. Look for it, expect it, desire it may the Lord bless you and may the Lord bless your day in Jesus name, Amen.
