The Qualities Of God As Revealed In His Names

"Exodus 15:26 Jehovah Rapha-The Lord Who Heals"

A wonderful morning to you, everybody. I pray that you are well rested and you are ready for another day of expecting God to do incredible things. Let us go to the Lord in prayer.

Heavenly Father, we thank you that we are here today alive and well and breathing. Waiting for another day that you have provided new mercy for us.

So as we look ahead, we look ahead with great anticipation and expectation knowing Lord that you are constantly by our side. Revealing yourself every step of the way. So that we, as your children, continue to grow in the knowledge of who you are.

We thank you for this time that we gather every morning. To hear from you, to fellowship with one another and above all, to fellowship with this spirit. So as we devote this time together.

We devoted with the knowledge and full knowledge and the expectation that God our efforts have no meaning if your presence is not here. So I ask you, Lord, now, as we look into the word and as we fellowship with the spirit and with one another, that may you make this time fruitful for our souls.

And we pray that as we set this day in motion, every idea that you have for us today, that we will accomplish it, and we'll walk through it in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen. Well as you all know we are studying, we are devoting mornings in knowing the name of our Lord.

As it relates to us, so that we grow in the knowledge of who he is. So that our lives are enriched. So yesterday we looked at the holy one of Israel. That's one of God's names. The holy one of Israel and Qedosh Israel. That was the name we looked at yesterday.

Today we are looking at one of the familiar ones and I'm sure a lot of people know this one, Jehovah, Rapha. If you have ever been sick and then God heals you it’s the application of his name Jehovah Rapha.

Now let us look in Leviticus 19:1-2 and the Lord spoke to Moses, saying speak to all the congregation of the Children of Israel and say to them you shall. No wrong scripture, and the Lord spoke to Moses, saying speak to all Congregation of Israel or children of Israel, and say to them.

You shall be holy for either Lord your God, I am holy. I, the Lord your God, I am holy, so you shall be holy. Now this is pertaining to Rapha, healing. The first mention of the word Rapha in the scriptures.

Remember, I always say that if you really want to understand a spiritual concept in the Bible you always want to go back to where the first mention of that thing or name is so that you have a greater understanding of what's going on.

So the first mention of Rapha is in Exodus 15:26. The verse says that this is God speaking to the children of Israelite. If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight.

God says I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you. I am Jehovah, Rapha and I heal you. But if you diligently heard my voice, in other words one of the I can't say prerequisite.

One of the things that we have to exercise in order to get full healing is to heed God's voice.  Heeding God's voice leads to healing. Heeding God's voice used to healing. This is in the Old Testament when Jesus comes which is the new covenant and it says it is better.

One of the reasons why it's better is because God Jesus provides healing. God is speaking to the Israelites. If you heed my voice then I will heal you. That's the first mission of the word Rapha.

And in that context it becomes the setting of this word as you see it throughout scripture. Now in Leviticus 19 God says I am holy, so be holy. Brothers and sisters holiness and healing go together, in other words, the foundation, premise of holiness of healing is in holiness.

Remember in the Old Testament when they used to sacrifice animals for purity. The scripture says that they had to set aside animals without blemish, without any sickness or any disease in order to sacrifice that to God so purity, holiness and healing go together.

When he says be holy as I am holy, what's included in that scripture is healing. Healing of the mind. Healing of the soul. Healing of spirituality, healing because it's impossible to be holy when you are dealing with infirmities.

I can’t say it's impossible. It's challenging to be holy if you're dealing with infirmities because we know God can do anything. But the goal for God in holiness is that holiness comes with spirituality healing, emotional healing, physical healing. One of the hardest things to do is to praise God when you are sick.

Because the focus of the mind is pushed towards the fact that I'm sick and I need healing. This is why the scripture says if anyone of you is sick, call on the elders to pray for you so you can get you.

Because we all know when you are emotionally sick, it's difficult to pray. When you're going through depression, it's difficult to pray. That's why you have to call somebody else to lay hands on you, because the soul is sick.

You don't if you are physically sick, the soul too is dealing with that sickness. So when God is saying be holy as I am holy, what's included in that? Is our healing. What's included in that is physical, emotional, spiritual healing. Forgiveness of sins.

It's included in that. Psalms 103 says this, bless the Lord, all my soul and forget not all of his benefits. And he lists who forgives all your iniquities. That's a benefit. Who heals all your diseases, that's a benefit.

So they saw as it blesses the Lord, it says should not forget. Should not forget the benefits of blessing the Lord. Forgiveness of iniquities and healing of all your diseases. Again, God intentionally names himself Rapha, Jehovah, Rapha To signify to you and I that I am the God who heals all your diseases and is part of holiness.

That's why you see in the scriptures when Jesus life, every time he encountered somebody who was sick, the questions are asked. This man is sick for 38 years. Who's sinned?

Why were they asking that because sins and sickness and disease can they hang together. Inasmuch as holiness, purity and healing hangs together and God names himself that. That I am Jehovah, Rapha.

I heal all your diseases and brothers and sisters, we have to remember this because this is important. Part of salvation is healing. It's a package you get salvation along with that comes healing emotionally, spiritually, physically.

Holiness be you holy as I am holy, comes with healing. Comes with healing it’s one party. That’s why he says bless the Lord all my soul. Do not forget, do not forget. Brothers and sisters, do not forget. The benefits of salvation. That Jehovah, Rapha is part of the benefits of salvation and knowing it and knowing that he is it changes our approach as we relate with him.

As you are seeking the Lord with your desire to be holy. And again all we have to do in this equation is have a desire to be holy because he makes us holy because he is holy. But part of that is that you get healing.

Part of that is that you experience Jehovah Rapha is part of the package. Holiness, healing, holiness is part of the package. You can't sanctify, you can't set apart something that is sick. That's why God wants us to be healed.

Because if we are sanctified and set apart inasmuch as they used to set apart animals for sacrifice, now the Scripture says offer your body as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable, holy unacceptable.

That means that as we offer our body, the God's intent is that we are not sick. That we are healed. So that what we are offering is purity, holy inacceptable is a form of reasonable worship.

So God wants to heal us in order for us to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice so that it's acceptable as our reasonable form of worship. That's why healing is part of salvation. It's ours. It's in the package emotional, spiritual, physical and God has this process of how that happens.

The Holy Spirit is what heals us. You don't know when it happens, but you just know it's no longer there. I'm sure all of us at some point we were sick and we can testify that we dealt with infirmities and now, we are no longer.

Whether it was emotional, physical or mental. Because God's desire is for us to be holy for he is holy. God is never going to get sick. So when he's saying be holy is I am holy. He’s proclaiming that sicknesses and diseases should not be part of it because I want you to be holy as I am holy.

This is so important to him. Healing is so important to God that he named himself Jehovah Rapha. So that when we call Jehovah, Rapha. It's like we're prescribing medicine to ourselves.

So Brothers and sisters let us not forget. It's a benefit, it is a benefit to call him Jehovah, Rapha and I'm sure we are learning so much about God's names and how they are tied into the statutes and the foundational premise of our faith.

Understanding business brings us knowledge and when we take that knowledge and we apply it, we get understanding until we have wisdom. Which is the ultimate thing that drives you and I, faith. The principal theme that drives you invoice faith.

Now once God heals you what you carry with you is healing for others. So that when somebody calls on you because now you've been anointed in that area you then can pray for others.

Because the level of faith in which you carry in terms of being Jehovah, Rapha, the knowledge of Jehovah, Rapha supersedes what somebody who hasn't gone through any sicknesses and disease.

So with it comes anointing. That's why Jesus would deliver somebody and he says you go and tell the whole city what has happened to you. And the person would go, the woman with the issue of blood.

She went and the woman at the well she went and told the whole entire city and the scripture says they all came to the knowledge of Christ, the whole city started turning to God.

Why? Because an anointed person who was healed showed up with conviction in their hearts to explain to what is transpired to them. So He is Jehovah, Rapha, he wants to heal all our diseases and informities because it is part of holiness that we are healed.

It is our bread. It is children's breads to be healed. Let us pray. Heavenly Father we thank you that you named yourself Jehovah, Rapha. So that when we call on you that you will heal all our diseases.

Emotionally, spiritually, physically, we desire to be holy, for your instruction is for us to be holy, for you are holy. We are praying, Lord, that if anyone is sick amongst us physically, spiritually or emotionally.

May you continue to heal us in this journey of healing for you desire for us to be holy, and we know we've been set aside for holy usage. So continue to work in us what is pleasing so that as we offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to you.

As a reasonable form of worship that God you accept us. We thank you for the Holy Spirit that you poured out on the day of Pentecost so that he works in us, that which is perfect and pleasing to you.

We ask for healing, spiritual healing, emotional healing, physical healing. We ask for it long because you are Jehovah, Rapha. You are Jehovah Rapha. We know Jesus came to heal the sick, to mend the broken hearted, to bring spiritual restoration.

That's the true essence of Jehovah Rapha. So as believers as your children. We stand here to receive and to acknowledge that you are Jehovah, Rapha. And we asked Lord that as you continue to heal us that Holiness continues to exude out of us.

Help us in areas that we are so desperate for your healing. You know, every single one of us. You know, the challenges that we are dealing with, even the things that seeks to penetrate us.

And we are praying, Lord, that in this season, as we study these names, that may our souls not forget the benefits of salvation. Help us, help us, help us, we are in need of healing. So that we can be whole.

We thank you for your grace. Thank you for all that you have done and what you still going to do. We bless the Lord with all our souls and we are asking the Lord that as we go throughout this day ma  you continue to hear us emotionally, mentally, spiritually, physically.

If there's any sickness in our bodies that we are not even aware of, we ask the Holy Spirit to now help us and heal us in the name of Jesus, we pray for our seniors amongst us. That God we know that old age is not a disease.

But it's the time to reflect and to enjoy the journey knowing what you have done. So I pray for our seniors that in these wise years no broken bones, no sicknesses and disease that comes to just throw in a wrench in their old age.

I pray for every single one of they will be in good health because you are Jehovah Rapha. I pray the grace of Lord be upon them. Every single one of them, emotional healing, physical healing, spiritual healing.

We thank you for great grace. We thank you for your love. We thank you for your names that, as we call on you each day, we are invoking in you, for us, the benefits of calling your name for the word instructs as the name of the Lord is a strong tower.

The righteous run into it and find all kinds of safety, physical, emotional, spiritual safety. So, Father, we bless you and we bless the Lord with all thy soul, and we will not forgive your benefits.

Now as we go through all this day bless us, walk with us. Challenge us in the areas we need to be challenged and strengthen us in the areas that we are, we have already exceeded and if there's anything Lord that you desire for us to grow in.

Make the way possible in available for us. Now lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one for thy is the Kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever, Amen

Brothers and sisters bless the Lord with all your soul and do not forget the benefits, healing of infirmities. May the Lord bless you, may you have a wonderful day and we will see each other tomorrow morning.
