A Chapter By Chapter Study Of The Gospels To Know And Teach Who Jesus Is And What Is Required Of The Sons And Daughters Of The Most High God

Matthew Chapter 24 "Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."

A very good morning, a very good morning to you, everybody. I pray you had a wonderful, restful night and you are ready for another day with the Lord. And today is Wednesday and we trust that the Lord is going to walk with us.

We have faith that He has already gone ahead of us and set some things in motion. And we believe that today he has a word for us, and we are just following through what he has already begun with some others in different parts of this world that have already gone through their day.

So as we come along, we pray that we find what the Lord is doing today, and we just follow through in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us pray. Father, we come before you this morning.

We thank you for your goodness and your mercy towards us. We thank you, Lord, that surely goodness and mercy will follow us for the rest of our days. Father, we pray for continued wisdom.

We need it, we need it, we need it to deal with all the different types of things that are happening in this 21st century. Father, I pray, Lord, for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to continue to be a focus in our daily devotion, in the things that we do in our lives because we know it is the mind of God that searches the deep things of God and reveals them to us.

So Father, we ascribe to the Holy Spirit because we know He is the giver of life, He is the giver of wisdom, He illuminates things that You promised us that you will have so much to reveal to us more than you did.

So we thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. So as we go into today's fellowship and today with this communion and with devotion, that God open our eyes and our minds so that the truth of the word of God continue to illuminate our souls and our spirits.

Because we know, when it's all said and done, without you we are nothing. So Father, bless our time together and bless the fellowship in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen and Amen.

Brothers and sisters, today we are in Matthew 24. And before we go, before we start 24, I want us to, I want to remind you that in Matthew 16, Peter says, Thou art the Christ in Jesus flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven hath.

And I tell you this, Peter, On this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail. And then the scripture says, As soon as that answer was given, Jesus began to prepare for his death.

So from 16 to 24 you can see the language that Jesus is using with his disciples and the opposition and persecution that is rising.

It's much stiffer and it's coming daily and his instructions disciples are more about the kingdom of heaven now and also about dealing with the Pharisees, Sadducees, and there's so many different warnings that Jesus is just issuing.

And when you study this book of Matthew, you realize at the very beginning of this book, Jesus is kind of just instructing on how to live and how to do things in this kingdom.

When you get to 16 and start moving to the end of this book, you realize now it's about starn warning about keeping an eye on things because they are going to come it's not maybe they are going to come.

So in the previous chapter yesterday there were seven wars war unto you war unto you then we talked about uh greatest Commandments so you can see that this journey is nearing the end.

And Jesus knows it they know it but they don't really know it so he's educating them in preparation of his departure now if somebody says to you I'll be leaving soon and they've been walking with you for a while you probably like, where are you going of course.

And your reference point to what's going on is not as deep as the person who knows where they are going. So in this case, Jesus is focusing and zeroing in on these guys so that they could understand exactly what's going on and why he came and this departure.

So when you get to 24, He's sitting down with them privately again. So we're going to read this whole entire chapter, stop at a few different junctures, explain some things, and we pray and we start this day.

Verse number one, Jesus left the temple and is walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. Do you see all these things? He asked. Truly, I tell you, not one stone here from this temple will be left on another.

Everyone will be thrown down and as Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, tell us they said, When will this happen and what will be the signs of your coming and of the end of the age?

Now, Jesus is sitting in a private meeting and this message is about to give to his disciples. It's centered on them, which means that for all of us, what's about to be said, not everybody is going to understand it.

Not everybody is going to care. But those who have walked with Christ, and who have heed His words and put them in their hearts, will understand what's about to be said here.

So when you see people not getting it, it's because in order for you to understand and to get what's about to say, something has to be already been planted in your heart prior to this particular statement.

Jesus answered, Watch out that no one deceives you. Now, this statement is to disciples who are walking with Him. It's not just regular people.

These men have walked with Jesus for so long, they know him, they understand, they have seen things, they believe He is the Messiah now, everybody knows what's going on, at some extent, but then He's telling the very true people that watch out, that you do not be deceived.

He's not telling people who are in the world, he's telling people that know you really well. Watch out that you do not be deceived. Verse number five. For many will come in my name, claiming I am the Messiah.

So which means the people who are going to deceive you are going to come in the name of what? Jesus Christ. And will deceive many. So deception is wrapped around a gift from people who are claiming Jesus.

Not people who are not claiming Jesus, because if somebody comes and tells me, I don't like Jesus, there's no deception there. But if somebody says, I like Jesus, I love Jesus, I worship Jesus, I am in church, I do A, B, C, D.

Of course you're going to be like, Oh, that's my next of kin. but deception is going to come in the name of Jesus for men will come in my name claiming I'm the Messiah and will deceive many.

It doesn't say they'll be claiming that they are the Messiah. They're going to say, Yeah, surely Jesus is the Messiah. And when they say that, you're going to be like, Oh, wow, I guess you and I, we are together and we deceive many.

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but say to it that you are not alarmed. That's our position, that when we hear rumors and rumors of war, don't be alarmed. Act like it's normal.

Such things must happen. It has to happen. But the end is still not to come. It doesn't say there will be war, it says rumors of war, not war. And I'm sure we have had many rumors of war, Oh, he's about to start Third World War.

They've been talking about Third World War since year 2000, and these rumors will continue but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be fair mines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning, not the end, the beginning of birth pains.

Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and pushed to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time, many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other.

And many false prophets will appear and deceive not they try to they will deceive many people and because of the increase of wickedness the love of most will grow cold.

The increase of wickedness is going to cause the love for many people to grow cold It's not the opposite, where the love of people grow cold, then there will be increase of wickedness.

No, the increase of weakness is going to cause a lot of people's love to grow cold. But the one who will stand firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations and then the end will come.

They're stating again, that the one who will stand firm to the end, so that's an era that's coming to an end, will be saved. And after that era, the gospel of the kingdom will then be preached to the world as a testimony to all nations.

And then the end will come, another era. So when you see standing in the holy place, oh my God. When you see standing in the holy place, the abomination that causes desolation, spoken of through the prophet Daniel.

Let the reader understand. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. In other words, when you see the abuse of pulpits, when somebody is standing in the holy place, abomination, then the reader must understand.

Then Lord, those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let no one on the house stops go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back to get their clock. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on Sabbath, for then there will be great distress. Pray there's an instruction unequally from the beginning of the war until now and never to be equaled again.

In those days, had not been cut short, if those days had not been cut short, in other words, time would seem very short, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, those days will be shortened.

For the sake of you and I, days will become shorter. At that time, if anyone says to you, look here is the Messiah or there he is do not believe it for false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive.

If possible even the elect see I've told you in advance so if anyone tells you there he is out in the desert, do not go out oral, here he is, the inner rules do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west.

So will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather. Immediately after this distress of those days the sun will darken, and the moon will not give its light.

The stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly borders will be shaken. Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

And He will send His angels with a loud trumpet called, and they will gather His elect from the four wings, from one end of the heavens to the other. Now, learn this lesson from the fig tree that's you and I.

There's an instruction for us now. Learn this lesson from the fig tree. As soon as these twigs become standard and these leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near right at the door.

Truly I tell you, this generation who certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and death will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels, even not the Son, but only the Father, as it was in the days of Noah. So it will be the coming of the Son of Man, for in the days before the flood.

People were eating, drinking, marrying, giving in marriage, after the day Noah entered the ark. And they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away.

That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field, one will be taken away, the other left. Two will be grinding with the handmill, one will be taken and the other left.

Therefore, therefore, keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this, if the owner of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have kept what? Watch, and would not have let his house be broken into.

So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. Who then is faithful? Wise servants from the master put in charge of the servant in the household to give them the food at the proper time.

It will be good for that servant whose master finds in doing so when he returns. Truly a tally, you put him in charge of all his positions. But suppose that servant is wicked saying to him, so my master is staying away a long time.

And then begins to beat his fellow servant and to eat and drink with the drunkards. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him, and at the hour he is not aware of, he will cut him to pieces, assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be whipping and gnashing of teeth.

So here's our instructions. We must live life ready. We must do everything that we do ready. Brothers and sisters, this message Jesus is giving to his disciples, and that was over 2,000 years ago.

Just get ready. And then Jesus next segment that this generation, which generation? He wasn't talking about just then. He's talking about the people who are living in this seventh day which is us, all of us, from then to now, the end times started when Jesus departed.

That was the beginning of the end times, and we are living in them today. And so many have forgotten that He is coming. A lot of people wouldn't believe that He is coming. Because a day is like a thousand in the Lord.

So when you think about it, since the departure of Jesus to now, it's been two and a half days in the Lord. It's just two days for the Lord. So it's not a long time. It's just two days for God since Jesus left the earth.

So this message has been given to a generation of people from then to now, to say hey the way you ought to live you ought to live ready. Like you do not have time because surely any moment Jesus can show up.

And for us believers we should be excited by the fact that our Jesus can come back any day it could be today at 4 p.m. And if that's the case, these instructions are given to us to make sure that we are always watchful.

Here's my instruction to you. Don't let a day go by where you don't think about this fact that Jesus is coming back. It has to be part of our agenda daily even as we pray our Father who art in heaven.

And we do all and ask Him for daily bread but part of our job is to keep an watchful eye because He is coming you don't want to be caught off guard and sometimes it sounds like it's been said over and over again that we start thinking oh man they said it in 1950 like I said When Jesus left, since Jesus left him now, it's just been two and a half days for the Lord.

So it's not a lot of days. For you and us, for mankind, yes, it is. But for God, it's just two days. So brothers and sisters, we must stay watchful, we must stay very vigilant, and we must always I want you to imagine how Noah lived through this generation.

Every day he had to go and put a nail or a plank on that vessel, every day, while everybody was busy doing what they were doing. Every day Noah wakes up, he has an agenda, goes to the board, get a hammer, put a little something over here, go back, fall asleep, come back the following day.

But part of his day-to-day existence, until the flood came, was that he was doing something with the boat. I'm sure he might have done other things, but his main agenda every day was to make sure that he was putting something on that boat.

Because he knew any day now, any day now, So in other words, his job was to remain vigilant with the fact that the flood is gonna come. And I don't know when, but every day I gotta put a nail on that boat.

So let's make sure, just like Noah, we do exactly how he conducted himself. during that same time. We are told as if the days are going to be just like the days of Noah. So which means that we equally have to do what Noah was doing to match those days.

So be vigilant like Noah. Be found righteous like Noah. They says he was found righteous in his generation, hence he was saved. So you and I, our responsibility is to be like Noah, is conduct.

Every day, be watchful, put a nail on that board, be found righteous in your generation, because the days are evil. Again, this is not to scare us, but this is to encourage us. So we have a manual that Jesus left us, 24 of Matthew, of how we ought to conduct ourselves in these days. Let us pray.

Heavenly Father, we are so grateful that you love us so much. that you didn't leave anything to chance, to search for our own knowledge of how to be and how to live in times that are mentioned here.

But instead you sent Jesus, not only just to die for us, but to also give us instructions of how to conduct our affairs as we await for your return. So I pray that the diligence, the strength, the wisdom, the effort that is needed to remain vigilant.

May it be part of our culture as believers to have a clear understanding that any day now you could come and we don't want to be found wanting in anything.

So I pray for us, who this message has been directed to, that God, may we find peace with this message, understanding and wisdom as it pertains to these instructions, so that we are not alarmed by anything, so that we remain in our place, even when we know many are coming, in Jesus name, to deceive.

I pray that as deception grows, let wisdom abound in us. Let the Holy Spirit continue to manifest in our ear so that we never find ourselves in a place where we are deceived. We know it's happening already, it has always happened with mankind.

But God Almighty, I pray for sensitivity to the spirit so that deception is never part of our culture. We thank you for the Holy Spirit, Spirit without measure.

And we ask, Lord, that in this hour, visit anyone who might be sick, Mother Russell, we throw Sarge in there, throw different ones that might be dealing with any kind of issues. Make us whole. I pray, Lord, for families, make us whole.

And I pray, Lord, that as we see things in and around us, even as we see how many people have been deceived with stuff that's going on around us I pray Lord that may we continue to lift them up in prayer so their eyes can be opened in as much as our eyes are opened.

Your desire is that no one perishes and that becomes our desire too because it is your desire so I pray Lord that May you continue to give us wisdom to speak to those who are perishing, so that something in them can be ignited, so they can run and find safety while you are still near.

Father, I thank you for this country and its position in the world and the things the United States of America has represented over the years. We know we are in the dawning of an era, in an urge.

And I'm praying, Lord, that in this hour, may you remind all of us what is important. Thank you for safeguarding your people in the midst of this chaos. So I pray, Lord, that may our faith continue to be preserved in these challenging times.

And I pray for those who are perishing that God may you extend that olive branch and may you open their eyes and may their hearts be touched by the Holy Spirit so they can follow in the pathway of Christ.

I pray for leaders that come in deception who their plan is to deceive people and they do it in the name of Jesus I pray, Lord, that may you bring order and correction where it is needed.

I pray, Lord, that may you touch these men that are wicked in their ways because of the deception they run around with. And I pray, Lord, that may you continue to offer repentance in the name of Jesus.

And we thank you that we have a safe place we can stand on and run to where our help comes from. We ask for grace to abound and peace to abound.

And Father, may you continue, Lord, to ignite our heart with the servants of loving the word and loving the scriptures and loving prayer and loving all the values and statues of this kingdom.

I pray, Lord, for courage and boldness to be part of our culture because we know we are desperately needed as the salt and as the light of the earth. I pray, Lord, that as we go throughout this day, let your blessings continue to flow our way.

Show us something that we haven't seen before. bring revelation to our souls that will continue to inspire us into the things of Christ.

And I pray, Lord, that as we all continue to bond together in the spirit of unity, speak to us, confirm some things to us, challenge us where we need to be challenged, strengthen us where we are weak, and Father, where we have confidence.

Continue to give us inspiration to speak to others. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Lead us not into temptation. Continue, Lord, to deliver us from the evil one.

For thine is the kingdom, the power, the glory, forever and ever, Amen and Amen. Brothers and sisters, key words of our living manual.

Be vigilant, be watchful, and every day make sure, just let Noah, you're putting something on that board to make sure that when the flood comes, it's ready, you are ready, and that you are inviting others in.

So that the preservation of human life and the souls of mankind will remain an agenda for God and for his people. May the Lord bless you. May you have an incredible phenomenal day.

May the Lord open your eyes to see and behold the beauty of his kingdom. And may the Lord give you wisdom above all else so that you can function the right way in these challenging times.

I love you, love somebody today, be an answer to another today, inspire somebody, and let's all have an incredible, phenomenal day, and we'll see you back here tomorrow, 7 a.m. Central, 8 a.m. Eastern Standard. Have a blessed day.
