Thus Says The Lord-Who God Says He Is, His Commandments and Promises
Exodus 6:1-8 "Then The Lord Said To Moses, Now You Shall See What I Will Do To Pharoah. For With A Strong Hand He Will Let Them Go And With A Strong Hand He Will Drive Them Out Of His Land "
Good morning, Saints. Let's read a passage, scripture from Proverbs, chapter 3:5-6 and 7. It says trust in the Lord with all thy heart, and lean not into that own understanding.
In all thy ways are knowledge in him, and he shall direct our payers. Be not wise in thy own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil. Let us pray.
Father God, we thank you for this day. Father God, you made this day for us, Father God, and you still watch over us, Father. You still lead and gather us, Father, when we don't even have the true idea.
Things that we do daily, sometimes we don't actually don’t need for you to guide us, Father God, but you do. Some things we do, we thank, well, it's all right. I don't need God here.
I can take care of this on my own, but we thank you, Father God, for protecting us, for taking us from the rising of the sun and the setting of the same Father.
Father, as we get into our blessing and this morning, we ask you, Father God, they show us their life, to show us ourselves, to show me myself, to show me that we need to connect with God always, every day, and let the Holy Spirit shine through in Jesus name we pray, Amen.
This morning, our lesson is found in Exodus 6:1-8, and I'll read the new International Version. Then the Lord said to Moses, now you will see what I would do to Pharaoh, because of my mighty hands, he will let them go.
Because of my mighty hands, he will drive them out of his country. Lord also said to Moses, I am the Lord, I appear to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name, the Lord, I did not make myself fully known to them.
I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they reside as foreigners. Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites from the Egyptian, and the slave, and I have remembered my covenant.
Therefore, say to the Israelites, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yolk of the Egyptian. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with mighty acts of judgment.
I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord, your God, who brought you out from under the yolk of the Egyptian. And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifting hands, to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
I will give it to you as a possession, I am the Lord, Amen. Today, we are in Exodus, and I will listen as a promise of deliverance. It is just a blessing for us today, as it was to the Israelites, over 2000 years ago.
When we ourselves reflect on our own lives, there are tasks where we face situations that seem impossible, perhaps struggle with family, work or personal dynamics. Just a God is sure of Moses, that he would display his matter at.
We can find hope in the belief that God would show up in our circumstances, even when all seem that is lost. If we understand God character is crucial in our faith. There are spiritual emphasized and God's sovereignty, reminding us that even in moments when we feel powerless, we serve a man of God.
God who intervenes, when Pharao the most powerful man at that time, in space with God direction, it emphasizes that no authority can stand against the will of God. Just going to stop us when we confront our thoughts, our challenges in our own lives.
Whether they be health issues, social issues, pressure, or anything that make us feel uncomfortable. As we walk through these trials, we can find strength in God's promises, knowing that he has a divine plan, just like Pharaoh, our challenges will eventually yield to his will.
And as we get deep into our lesson, we are going to find out we're talking about obedience. And God asked Abraham, Moses fulfil a much need role. Even though he faced challenges along the way, nothing is too impossible for God.
All things are possible for God. God has a purpose and a plan for every human being in this world. Although we know the population over seven million people, but just think God has a plan for everybody. And we could say no way, but yes he does. Trust and obey God. It's not hard. It's really not.
We think it is, we say, I can't do this. I can't do that don’t seem like me. But the reason for that is because we want to dictate to God what we want to do. And we want God to bless us and everything we want to do.
But it's not about us. It's all about God and we all have a story. We all have a testimony. We all have something that we can give and that's a call of God too. We should reflect on the name of God revealed to Moses when he said, I am the Lord.
When God introduced himself this way, we are reminded of his eternal nature and his unwavering commitment to his covenant with Israel. This is a special important for the Israelites who found themselves enslaved and oppressed in Egypt.
They needed to be reminded that the God who made promise to their ancestors was still that they're much involved in their lives and circumstances. Just like in Moses time, God is still doing the same thing, He is God.
God has never changed. He has never changed. God promised to Moses signify that he would empower him for the task ahead. When we face over, we have a circumstances and situation.
We can look back at the promises and remember that God equip us with the strength and resources needed for our assignment and life. So once again, we all have a assignment. But what is our assignment?
Because we are all on the journey and this journey called life. God wants us to come to him for everything. Not just something but for everything, every day. From the rising of the sun, getting up, thanking God, getting this word, asking God, Lord, what did you want me to do this day?
Lord, God made this day. And Phillipians 4:5-6, it says, let your moderation be known to all men the Lord is at hand. Be cap of a nothing. But in everything, by prayer and supplication with face given, let your request be made known to God. So God is asking us every day to come to him.
God is asking us every day to talk to him. He's always talking. He's never quiet. God has never moved from us, but we move from him. So it's like in everything, everything daily. Let us not forget God.
And sometimes because of time delay, we feel that God has forgotten us. We feel that God has forgotten his promise. And the last day the Bible says, Christ will come soon. Where is the promises of the coming of Jesus Christ?
2 Peter 3:4, Because of the time, the man will scoff. God is not slept concerning his promises. It's all men count slackness, but God is faithful. Yes, he is always faithful.
God said to the Israelites, I would bring you out from under the burdens of Egyptians. I will read you out of their bondage. And I will redeem you with a stretch out arm and with great judgment.
And I will take you to be my people and I will be your God. And you should know that I am the Lord your God, which brings you out from under the burden of the Egyptian.
And so we can say the same thing to get God always brings us out something. Let's say this first, God always protect us. So daily, basis, we don't know how close we are to death. We know soon as we born, we begin to die.
But as we return, yes, we end it. From our food, we eat the water, we drink, the people we associate with, the going in and out, the air that we breathe. We are always in trouble and God is always protecting us.
And today, believers can have an understanding that just like Moses, we may face challenges circumstances too. And we have a time ourselves about. God invite us to revisit our identity and his children and power by his spirit to fulfil our missions, he places it on our hearts.
God call us by name and remind us not only of his authority, but also his loving presence in our lives. But sometimes we should revisit all the past, but not to live in the past. Sometimes we can't remember what God did for us years ago, how he brought us out, how we was in a possible life, and how he saved us and rescued us.
But we should live in the past, but just be thankful, Lord, you did it for me then, and you would do it for me now. Every day is a day of thanksgiving with our God. And when God said, I am the Lord, it serves to remind us that God ability and faithfulness, the name signified, unchangeable.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. God never changes. When we read the Bible, the Bible to us is history. It is its our life. That's what it is, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, all of them and so on.
It's our life. It's our everyday life. When we look back just like we talked about the children of Israel, when we see them, we see ourselves, we really do. Only this that has changed is our names, but our lifestyle is still the same.
And no matter the obstacle we face, or the doubt we harbor, we remain still the same. This is a center concept as we consider our relationship with God, especially when the journey through periods of the wilderness are uncertain.
Yes, we all go through a wilderness, and we do. Sometimes our wilderness is not as bad as other people, but it's still a wilderness. When we are married to God as our Lord, he invites us to his presence in our battle and challenge it.
So God wants us to have a personal relationship with him, not come to him for you need, not just to seek his face, and seek his hand at the same time, but no God wants us to seek his face. He wants us to learn of him. He already knows us.
This is a Bible lesson. It's about our faith and our obedience, and our relying on God. One of the first lessons we can draw from this verse is the importance of recognizing God, authority, in our lives.
Acknowledging him as our Lord, means submitting to his will, trusting that he has the best plan for us, just as he has for the Israelites. So God has a plan, like I first said, for over seven billion people. It could be eight billion now, we don't know.
But he has a plan for everybody. It's something for us all to do. You know, there's something but we sit out and think about and plan them out. You know, what can all these billions of people do?
Yeah, if it's something ask God. And if we each want us to ask God, what would you have me to do? What is the plan that you have for my life? God mentioned of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
It's signified that God is reminding Moses and the Israelites of their heritage, and the promises made to their ancestors. So in our Bible, we have many promises. God keeps His promises, but we got to go in there, and we got to find these promises.
We got to read them. We got to meditate on them, and we got to study them. This is echoed in Genesis 17:7, when God promised to establish an everlasting covenant with Abraham, and his descendants.
Today, this can serve as a reminder that God are not part of a long-standing spiritual lineage, and they God promises are endured. So God told us to trust in the Lord with all our life on, and lean not to our own understanding. And a lot of times, that's our problem.
We want to lean to our own understanding, but what we should do is let go and let God. And God acknowledges the suffering of Israelites, and he expresses his attention to rescue them. He said, I have heard the groaning of Israelites.
This demonstrates the empathy and compassion. God is not distant and indifference, but intimate aware of the suffering of his peoples. God sees everything. Psalms 139, tell us that he knew us before we was born.
He knew everything before we say it, before we think it. God knows all. He knows the number of hair on our heads. So what kind of God to we served? We serve a perfect Holy God. And he's loving, and he loves us unconditionally at the same time.
This can be a particular context in today's world, but many feel unseen or overlooked. It reassures us that God heals our cries, and is smooth to end. And like I said, a lot of times we have to revisit the past.
Sometimes we get a lot of pitted parts, but God don't want us on the pitted part. He wants us to sit down and concentrate. Humble our selves and talks to him. So he can talk to us, and we can talk to him.
So we can actually hear God’s voice, and we can. But we have the problem of ourselves. God promised redemption and freedom. God promised to bring the Israelites out of Egypt, to free them from bondage, and to leave them from his slavery.
The Auschwitz on symbolize the God's strength, action and intervention. God act a role in liberating us from whatever holds us captive, whether it be fear, addiction, or injustice. And we know we full of that. You know, the world is full.
You know, sometimes we have that in our own life, but we have something God has promised. And then on top of that, God wants to hear from us. He wants us to work his plan. Our brother in yesterday Calvin told us about Moses has doubt.
Yes, he did have doubt. Moses made excuses, and we both have, all of us have doubts at certain times, and we make excuses. I can still have excuses for everything. And it's so convenient, but is that God's will, no. And we don't have an eloquent voice.
We can find an excuse Lord, I can't talk in front of people. I can't do this. I can't do that. But the reason we can't do it is the cause we don't sit down and we don't talk to the Lord, and the Lord going to talk to us. And we also say, people are born handicapped.
You know, it's a lot going on in this world, but it's still something we all can do. Even having the handicapped is something that we can do. We can pray for the people, but it's still something that we can do.
So God acknowledged the suffering that we see people and God see us suffering. He sees, he knows, and we got to go in his word and find out what he says. To know God incident means to have a deep and personal relationship with Him.
Well, one experienced his personal power and faith in this in a profound way, it involves not just knowing about God, but truly knowing him on a personal level, understanding his character, his ways, and his will for our lives.
This intimacy enables us to trust him, seek his guidance, and for us to run our lives to him, and to his perfect plan. Yes, God has a perfect plan for us. We don't have a perfect plan. We just do whatever before us.
We do what other people do, or say. Yes, God put us in this world to do what we do, to help families, jobs, career, fun, vacation, all of that. But in the midst, see us seek God. And God reveals Himself to Moses and to the Israelites. God promises us what de promises us, he does, God does.
We should ask, sit down every day and talk to God about a promise. Maybe on a daily basis. Excuse me, to talk to God. Because he wants to be our God.
This is what is Leviticus 25:38 say. Let's look back at verse 2. I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt to give you the land Canaan and to be your God. So God blessed these people.
So he said, had to be your God. God is telling us the same thing today. Leviticus 22:31 say, so you should keep my commandments and do them. I am the Lord. So we don't have an excuse for not keeping God's command.
God gave us to love the Lord our God with all thy soul, mind, health and strength. I think I got the wrong because I'm not in the world with it. And it certainly says love the Lord, the Lord that certainly says love the Lord, thy neighbor, as thy self.
So our commandment today is all about love. And we get love while everything else was falling in place. And we have our own part to do. Leviticus 11:45 say, if I am the Lord who brought you from the land of Egypt to be your God, thus you should be holy for I am holy.
So the Lord said, he's holy for us to be holy. You know, that's a full time job. We can work on that every day. We can keep ourselves away from trouble just working and trying to be holy. Although just like Moses had challenges, we have challenges.
God knows that. That's why he wants that personal relationship with us. And God is, he is talking to us the same way because the Bible never changes. And so with that, we're going to say that what can we do? Do we make excuses? Do we make excuses?
When I said make excuses, usually it's going to involve God. And somebody asks us to do something for the Lord. Oh yes, we have an excuse. But we have to ask Lord, Lord, why am I always running from you? But we have to do the best that we can.
Like if we sound and talk to God every day, He'll tell us. He'll tell you, He'll lead and guide us, Amen. This is our lesson. Let us pray. Father God, we thank you that you are wonderful God. Father God, we thank you that you hear us just like you did the Israelites.
And Father God, we still living with people such as them. We feel living in Egypt Father God, and you see, try to deliver us and we let you. And Father God, we just pray for the people of the world.
We pray for the oppressed people. The people that are treated unfairly. Father God, and denied rights, their own rights. The racism, disability, religion. Father God, if there are pressed peoples among us, they would pray for the deep prayers.
They feel sadness, hopelessness. Lord we ask you to supernaturally bless them, Father God, we don't know why all this is going on. Some peoples are born depressed but Father God, you have your people to pray for them, Father God.
Father God we pray for the homeless who don't have jobs, they live on the streets, some in shelters. A lot of people didn't ask for to be homeless, but they end up that way. And Father God we pray this morning for them Father.
We pray for the ones that are addicted and Lord we just want to just pray for the parents, the children, the teachers. The list goes on and on, Father God, the list never stops. Even the ones we think that are doing well like ourselves.
Father God we need prayer, we need much prayer. Prayer is needed everywhere. And Father God, we thank you, Father God, that you can bless everybody at the same time. You know all our problems, our concerns at the same time.
But we don't need appointment to come to you. And we thank you for Father God, we thank you, that we can talk to you anytime. We thank you that you have a sacred place for us, Father.
And we thank you Father and Father as we go this day Father God, we ask you to lead and guide us, Father God. And we ask you Father God to give us the mind to want you to lead and guide us.
Give us that desire, Father God, let us look and see things the way you see them and that is in your holy word. Father God, because when it's all said and done Father God, we want a home with you, Father God. This world is not our home Father.
We live here and we know we just passing through. We know we on a journey, Father God, but this journey should be all about you. Lord, you bless us in every area of our life and Father God, let us do for you also.
Let us not forget you, Father God, let's not put you on the background. And we thank you, Father God in Jesus name we pray, Amen.
