Thus Says The Lord-Who God Says He Is, His Commandments and Promises

Exodus 3:5-10 - "Do Not Draw Near To This Place. Take The Sandals Off Your Feet For The Place Where You Stand Is Holy Ground. "

A very good morning, a very good morning to you. I hope you had a wonderful and restful night and great weekend and you're ready to go for another week and spend some time with the Lord. Let us go to the Lord in prayer.

Heavenly Father we come before you this morning as we endeavor to devote this time to you, to hear what you say to us, to prepare our heart and our minds for the day, knowing Lord that we have expectations and things that we desire to do and to fulfill.

And we need you to be our force of guidance, our source of counsel, our source of strength, and our source of wisdom and understanding. So Father, this moment, we give it to you as we fellowship with one another.

We thank you for community, we thank you for family, we thank you for friends, we thank you Lord that you brought us together and that we continue and seek you every morning.

As is your desire and as is our desire to hear from you. So Father as we look at these passages of Scripture today and pray with one another. Continue to strengthen us in our faith and continue to review to us the things that we need to know and to understand in order to continuously leave this successful life.

So we bless you and we honor you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen. Today we are in Exodus 3 and this past month, if you're joining us for the first time, we're looking at passages of Scripture where the Lord spoke, thus says the Lord.

And one of the reasons we are looking at this passage of Scripture is because we want to remind ourselves that God is always speaking, always and He desired for us to hear from Him and to hear what He is saying.

That's why this Scripture will repeat over and over whoever has an ear, let Him hear what the Spirit of the Lord says because it is important for us to hear in order to speak and it is important for us to hear in order to know what's coming.

So we are in chapter 3 and this is an encounter where God had an encounter with Moses. He is an 80 year old man by now. So Moses sees a burning bush and he goes to examine it because somehow, even if it's burning, the leaves are not turning into ashes.

And he says, when the Lord saw that Moses had gone over to look, so he is curious, so he goes to see God called to him from within the bush, you know from the heavens within the bush, the voice is coming from the burning bush, Moses, Moses and Moses said, here I am and the next instructions, do not come any closer, God says.

And in the Old Testament, we take off our sandals, in the New Testament, we put on our sandals. So he says, take off your sandals for the place where you are standing is holy ground.

And then he said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. Why is God introducing himself this way? He is trying to tell Abraham that Moses sorry, that you are not the first person I'm interacting with.

I've interacted with previous generations too. And I want you to have confidence in the fact that I am speaking to you as much as I have interacted with your father. So take off your sandals for the place where you are standing is holy.

Then he said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. At this, Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God. The Lord said, I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt.

I have had them crying out because of their slave drivers and I'm concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land and land flowing with milk and honey.

The home of Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, and now the crowd Israel has reached me, and I've seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. Now God is speaking to Moses because he has heard the cry of his people.

Now most times, brothers and sisters, it's important for us to know, especially as it pertains to relationships that we currently have with people, family, friends, colleagues, workmates.

That when God comes to speak to you or you hear the holy spirit, say something to you about a person, there's a greater likelihood that God has heard that person's cry. In other words, God places some person in your heart and you wonder why you are thinking about this person.

There's a likelihood that there are things that this person is either been crying out to God for a while and God now has heard his cry and now he sends message or he sends a voice to somebody, hey, can you go and be of aid in this situation?

This is why I always say if God places somebody in your heart, if you think of another person, he's diligent enough to call or to reach out because God is looking for somebody who he can send is always looking for somebody who he can send.

Brothers and sisters, God is so deeply concerned about our needs that is always seeking to answer prayer and if you understand that there are three ways, God answers prayer, first he can answer prayer with angelic, secondly he can answer prayer supernaturally.

Thirdly, God answers prayer through people, he uses people to do something, for example, the children of Israelite are in Egypt and they are crying out to God and God had to find a person who was equally equipped to go and rescue them.

So in this scenario, instead of using supernatural means, God is using a person. The problem that God has when he uses human beings to answer prayer is that most times prayer is stuck in human will.

If Moses says, I don't feel like going, then God would have to look for another person even though the time to answer this prayer is now. If Moses said, I don't feel like going, God would have to look for another person who was equally trained.

Who was equally developed in his leadership style to go and rescue his children of Israelite. So a lot of times prayer gets stuck in human will. In other words, God has already answered the prayer, that is because he is depending on people to execute what he desire to be executed.

And then we most times are not willing to, for whatever reason, then we get to this place where even though the answer has been sent already, it's now stuck in human will. In other words, the other person who ever is supposed to be answering the call.

We have to deal with their human will so that God can answer this prayer. So, for us, we have to realize that when God places a person in your heart or you hear, you hear, hey, reach out to this person.

Do not dismiss it because the tendancy is well I'm busy, I don't think I can reach out right now. Do not dismiss it because God is looking for someone to be an answer to another person.

I have a seriously very bad experience with this, with God speaks to you and he places a person in your heart and something somewhere happens and you don’t answer the call or you get busy and things happen.

In my case, brothers and sisters, let me share with you this sad story. The lady who I knew a few years ago and I'm still friends with her husband now, she was dealing with a very difficult severe case of not sleeping.

In fact, she had gone for three years without sleeping properly. It had affected her tremendously. I'm talking about if you have ever seen a zombie, a person who is present but not present because of lack of sleep.

She could sometimes go seven days without sleep, lost weight, could not function properly, present but gone. I met this person with their husband at the church because they were looking for help.

They tried to go to the doctors, they saw naturalists, they had gone, they had spent time with doctors and they came to the church, sat down with them, talked to them, prayed with them, and just became a voice of support and prayer in their lives.

And for the next three months, it was scripture, prayer, encouragement, scripture, prayer, encouragement and they started getting better and better and better and better and better. One day I get a call.

Man, Pastor Zee I slept seven hours. It's unheard of the first time ever in three years I slept more than one hour. I slept seven hours, excited. This is the beginning of an incredible phenomenon of sleep, Pastor Zee, I'm getting my healing.

Second day, same thing happens. Third day, they did not sleep at all. On the fourth day after the first sleep, not doing too good. Now the fear that this might never happen, the fear that I have tasted victory and now I'm back in defeat.

I might go on other three years again. It got to them and I remember the morning when I got this tragic news, is that the Lord placed in my heart in the morning call this person. I'm like, all right, I'll call them.

I'm on my way to do grocery shopping. Call this person I'm on my way to do grocery. I run around that whole entire day because I had a crazy little schedule that I was trying to get stuff done.

And slowly but surely, the day creeped in me until I'm driving up to around 4 p.m. I'm like, I'm going to make this call. I'm going to make this call. I pick up my phone, started dialing and my phone died.

I realized I had no phone charger. I went home and around 7 p.m. I got the news that she had passed away. That shook me, that God had given an instruction for something to be done or that needed, that needed God's spirit.

And unbeknownst to me, even though there was a desire to do it and all these things had to take place. Not that I blame myself or I blame this, but the idea, I'm trying to relate to relay on us is that when God places something in your heart, a person or a situation in your heart to either be an intercessor or to call and encourage or pray for somebody.

Be diligent to do it because God would have heard that person's cry and he needs somebody. This is why it's so incredibly remarkable when another person called and says, the Lord said, I should do this for you or I should help you here or say, I should give you a call.

It's encouraging, inspiring, even though you might not have the right words to say to this person, but it's evidence that surely God heard my cry. Book of Daniel, Daniel is praying for the nation of Israel because they are in captivity.

And he is tired of being in captivity, so he knelt down to pray. The scripture says, on that day that he started praying, God heard his prayer, he heard it in heaven. Day one, he heard Daniel pray on day one.

Daniel then goes on for 21 days of prayer and fasting, where he was not eating. Daniel fasting is like, I'm eating vegetables only. That's what we get to Daniel fast from. So he goes for 21 extra days of prayer and fasting.

Even though God heard Daniel's prayer on day number one. I'm been known to him God had already answered this prayer. It's only after day 21 that an angel shows up while he is in prayer.

And he says, Dan, the Lord heard your prayer the day you started praying. And he released me to come to your aid. But on that day, I was caught up. In fact, a demonic spirit over the region of Asia caught me and held me down so that I should not come and encourage you.

But God Himself had to send Michael to come and fight this demonic spirit so that I could be released and come and give you this message that God has heard you. God has heard Daniel's prayer.

How do we know this? The instruction or the instruction that God gave the children of Israe, you’re going to be in captivity for 70 years. But after Daniel's prayer, they spent 68. So again, I'm showing us how our hearing works with God and what He desires to do in the earth.

Do not let prayer be stuck in your human will, because we are not hearing and because we are not executing. It's important to hear God, but it's more important to execute. Moses heard the Lord and he executed and brothers and sisters without Moses hearing and without Moses interaction with God.

We don't have Genesis. We don't have the first five books of the Bible because the first five books of the Bible were written by Moses. When he experienced God and saw how the world was created and God gave him insight into how he furnished the earth and humanity and Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible because he heard the Lord.

Our relationship with God is centered on him hearing and him speaking and us hearing and us executing. If you want to sum up our relationship with God, that's all there is. And if you look at Jesus' life, same thing.

The Lord spoke, he heard , he executed to the tee. He answered the relationship with God. That's why Jesus said, I'm only here to do the wheel of the Father. So I want us to be incredible hearers and to be the doers of the world.

That's what James says be here the doers of the word, do the word. Whether it's coming through scripture or whether it's coming through the Holy Spirit, do the word because it is essential that we are constantly hearing God so we can be an answer to somebody's prayer or to your own life.

Because God is always speaking, always. Because it is desire to hear from us and it is desire for us to hear from him. That's why I Paul said you need to pray without seizing.

That means you need to be in constant communication with God. And if we are communicating with God, surely he is speaking in all those times. You just need to listen. So hearing is so important, guys.

And execution is so important because we do not want. We don't want prayer to not be answered because we stuck in our own human will. So I want to encourage you, when the Lord speaks to you, when the Lord says something to you, and don't take time, don't push it aside, don't procrastinate.

Because somebody might need you. Somebody might need to hear and to know that God had their cry, that God had their cry. And this cry reaches God's ears and he was looking for a man who he could send and he found one.

It was Moses and his willingness to hear, his willingness to obey, his willingness to execute is what made Moses special. So if you're looking to be a special individual, just hear from the Lord and execute.

Let's all get a place where God can say, I trust you. It's easy to trust him, but we want God to say, hey, I trust you. I trust you because if I tell you, I know you are going to do. Same thing with Abraham. God trusted Abraham, Amen. Let us pray.

Heavenly Father, you are our God and we are your children. Thank you that we have a relationship with you. That is centered on us hearing you speak and us executing. The instruction says from the words, we erase an ear, let him hear what the Spirit of God is saying.

So Father, we have a desire to know you and to hear you. Because there are so many things that we are going through, challenges that we need answers to. And we know it's not because you're not speaking or you don't care, but it's because sometimes God we have problem with our hearing.

And sometimes prayer is just stuck in human will. So I pray Lord that you continue to soften our hearts as you speak to us concerning things that we need to do or the people we need to help. We thank you for your everlasting love and we thank you Lord for your grace and your divine strength that you have given us in our efforts to become the children of God.

Father I pray for wisdom, I pray for wisdom in our hearing and in our doing. Help us in our efforts to know your voice well. My sheep, know my voice. We don't want to mistaken it for the enemy.

We don't want to mistaken it for anything, but God we want to know your voice. We want to walk with greater expectations with our ears to the ground, attentive to that voice into that leading.

Let the inner men hear as you divinely use us in all things that are true and right, Father we bless you, for the love that you have for us, for the grace and the mercy that you have for us.

So as we journey along in this life, continue to help us with our hearing. Help us, help us, help us Lord with our hearing. We thank you for our children who continuously blessed them before you for sicknesses and diseases, for total healing.

If there are things that we need to improve, so we can improve the quality of our health and our children, give us a word of wisdom on how to do it. For those who are dealing with any physical and health issues.

I pray that God let your Holy Spirit heal all of us emotionally, mentally, physically. May the joy of our Lord be our strength. I pray, Lord, that none amongst us is dealing and suffering from any chronic diseases.

I pray, Lord, that healing belongs to us, to our children. It is ours as an inheritance and we claim it for every single one of us to walk in total healing. And even emotional and spiritual healing, we want to walk in total with it.

So we thank you that it is our inheritance. Thank you for our children, as they are back in school now. I pray, Lord, that is they are going through changes from being children to teenagers.

I pray, God, that this journey and this transition helps them to understand it and make it easy through the leading of the Holy Spirit. May our children have an encounter with you, so they can know the God of Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Joseph.

Our God, so that he can be their God. Help us parents to teach them the ways they should go, so that when they grow, they will not depart from them. We know there are so many teenagers in our world that have been pushed towards their direction.

I pray, Lord, that those things would not stick in their minds and in their lives, exonerate this generation from this spirit that is challenging in day in and day out. I pray, Lord, that may salvation be their portion, may understanding and wisdom be their portion.

Thank you for these gifts that you have given us then we will continuously give them back to you. Knowing, Lord, that you created them, you furnished them in their mothers' wombs and you endowed them with gifts and talents.

So I pray, Lord, that may every gift and talent in them be accounted for as they execute what you have given them to execute. Father, we pray for this country. You know where the secret meetings are held.

You know who is leadership, you know who is leading, you know they are spirits. There is nothing we can tell you that you cannot, you don't know. If we can see it, you see it better. But Father, as we humble ourselves, as we turn from our wicked ways, as we seek your face, may you hear us from heaven and heal this country.

I pray, Lord, for politicians, the incoming next generation of politicians, I pray for women with spiritual hearts, who care about spiritual things, who care about people and needs and humanity.

We thank you, we thank you and we thank you that you are doing it for us. I pray for this group, ye Lord, this community of believers that you have put us in, where love abides, where friendship abides, where strength abides.

I pray, Lord, that as we continue to walk together in this journey, let these relationships and these lives that we behold be a very true thing that we need to continue to endure the things the enemy throws at us.

I thank you for every single household that is represented here and for every single person that stands with us in this prayer call. May you bless them mightly, mightly, every need met, every prayer answered according to your will.

And may we find strength, wisdom, understanding in this group, that even Lord, as you continue to grow us, I pray, Lord, that may we serve one another without reservation. So for the bless us and we thank you for everything you have given us to do and you have placed in our hands to do.

Bless the works of our hands, bless the works of the one who send us. Now as we go through this day, may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread and Lord lead us not into temptation but continue to deliver us from the evil one.

For dining the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever, Amen. So brothers and sisters, don't let prayer be stuck in human will. Hear the Lord speak, execute and be a doer of the word.

May the Lord bless you, may the Lord give you strength and wisdom in everything that you are doing, open doors and opportunities for your businesses, for everything that that is present in your heart to do and also for your spiritual growth.

I pray for you, you pray for me, I leave this evening for Africa for the week, I go to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Qatar and back, keep me in prayer, I keep you in prayer. And when you get a little moment, the Lord speaks to you about somebody, please reach out or pray. Love you, we'll see each other very soon.
