"Readying Our Hearts for Resurrection Sunday"
"Jesus Handed Over To Pontius Pilate, Jesus Faces Herod"
Good morning, everybody. I hope you had a wonderful night and you are ready for an incredible phenomenon week. Let us pray.
Heavenly Father we come before you today as we in this past week dedicated this time to just understanding your journey to the cross.
So we can have a full scope of what you did on that day. We are grateful to know that your long-suffering brought us to salvation.
I thank you for this gathering. I thank you for this time that we devote to you to hear you speak to commune with you just as much as you came down to commune with Adam in the cool of the day.
So we thank you for your sovereign authority. We thank you that you know all things. We thank that you see all things. There is nothing that is hidden from here. So we are grateful that you never find us, you never leave us where you find us.
Always pushing us and challenging us through the challenges of our existence, you grow as you equip us, you strengthen us. So, Father, I pray Lord that as we go through this week continue to remind us about the work of the cross.
We want to daily look at the cross knowing that was where we found our salvation. There is power in it. So, Father, we thank you for your grace, for your sufficient and we bless you for this week we pray this prayer in Jesus name, Amen.
Brothers and sisters we are in Luke 23 today. Starting from verse 1 to 12 I’ll read. Then the whole assembly rose and led him off to Pilate. Remember last week when we ended he is at the chief Priest House and they are asking questions.
And finally, when they ask you, are you? Are you are you a king? Are you a Messiah? Jesus gives them an answer. And they're like, well we need to not discuss this matter anymore. You heard him that they'd ask him are you the king of the Jews?
And he says, well, you say so. And that's all they needed. So now He says then the whole assembly rose not some. Everybody who's in this assembly rolls and led him off to Pilate.
Now you can imagine as they are leading him to Pilate. What is happening on that journey. And they began to accuse him saying we have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Messiah a king.
So Pilate asked Jesus are you the king of the Jews? You have saved, so Jesus replied. Then pilot announced to the chief priest and the crowd, I find no basis for a charge against this man. But they insisted He stirs up the people all over Judea by his teaching.
He started in Galilee and he has come all the way here. On hearing this, Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean. When he learned that Jesus was under Herod's jurisdiction. You send him to Harold who was also in Jerusalem at that time.
When Harold saw Jesus he was greatly pleased. Because for a long time he had been wanting to see him. From what he had heard about him, he hoped to see him perform a sign of some sort.
He plied him with many questions, but he gave no answer. The chief priests and the teachers of the law were standing there vehemently accusing him. Then Herod and these soldiers ridiculed and mocked him, dressing him in an elephant robe.
They send him back to Pilate. That day Herod and Pilate became friends. Before this, they had been enemies. Now this, Herod, this is Herod Antipas. This is the son of Herod the Great. Remember Herod the Great is the one who ordered for babies to be killed, that's his Father, now his son is now the king.
And has been appointed by the Romans. And his son also, this man is the same Herod that killed John the Baptists. This is the same herald the son of the Great Herald. Now these men, the Herod's, they are a representation of the Antichrist.
You know, they're a type of Antichrist. And you will see that as he continued to read the New Testament, there is other Herod's of the same family tree that pops up. That all we're opposing what God was doing.
So this is a form. He is a form of an Antichrist. That what's so interesting is how Herod and Pilate become friends in the midst of this event. So you have a Jew and the Gentiles coming together for heinous crimes. Representing this idea that all humanity crucified Jesus.
Because we had to participate in this in order for all of us to be saved by these men. Now what I want us to look at, I'm just going to give you a background here. What I want us to really kind of put our minds to.
Today is Monday. I want you to imagine if you knew that you are dying on Friday. How would you live your life? If you know, us who are alive now knew that on Friday will be our last day on Earth. How would we live our life?
Jesus knows that Friday I'm dying on Friday. Not only is he just dying that when I die, I am descending to hell. I'm not going to the Father. I am discerning to the pit of fire where there is turmoil and suffering and pain of those who died without salvation.
Can you imagine knowing that? So when Jesus is praying in the garden of Gethsemane and he's saying, Father, let this cup pass. He is in full view of what's about to take place. That this coming Friday, I'm dying.
Now mind you guys this event here in the morning. He hasn't slept since the Last Supper. So they are dragging him with no sleep. On his way to the cross, he knows on Friday I'm about to experience one of the most gruesome weeks of my life.
On Friday, I'll be gone. How would you live your life? For him, it wasn't the whole week. Because this is this is this is this is 2 days compressed in our scriptures. Now he goes to the cross. On Friday is gone. He knows it that in the future for him, it's not Friday for him is hey, in a few hours.
This day later on. I'm dead and I'm descending to hell. Now what he is doing in this moment is trying to get to salvation for all mankind. This process has to take place in order for you and I to receive salvation.
If this does not happen, if he does not stand in front of time, if he doesn't get ridiculed, if they don't insist in killing him, if they don't insist in doing everything they're doing right now. All the stuff that will be here this week.
If they don't do this, we don't get to salvation. If they don't dress in elegant robes. If they don't, ridicule. If they don't take him to Pilates house, take him to hand or back to Pilate. If they don't, mock him, if Herod is not excited meeting Jesus finally and him becoming friends with Pilate on this day from enemies to friend.
If all that does not happen, we don't get to salvation. Today I want us this week guys to really kind of grasp and understand that salvation is one of the most incredible, phenomenal things that could ever happen to any human being caused the price that was paid for it is unbelievably costly.
So what I want us to do, you know, I know yesterday when we were doing Bible study, I said we're going to be praying for our kids on Friday, but I feel in my heart that when you, the more you understand what salvation is.
The more you understand what takes place here. The more you weep and cry for those who don't have salvation. So starting today, as we continue we're going to pray and read scriptures pray, but also just pray for our children.
I have a list of I've got. I received your guys list. So we're going to take this whole week to just bring them before the Lord so that if anyone of them is not saved like we are. We cry out for them.
Because sometimes we are so safe for a long time that we lose the importance or the value of what salvation is or how we got here. And we want them also, years, to come to you have a full scope of what we are doing right now to.
So we're going to, we're going to start today and just leave fellow kids and amongst other things that were pray for. So let us pray. Heavenly Father we come wherever you are. You know children, you know, you know people, nieces, nephews those were not saved.
Even those who don't have an understanding of what this is. Let's pray for them, even if they are saved and they don't have an understanding of what salvation is. Let us pray for all of them this week. So let's pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before you today we bring our children before you in light of understanding of what you went through in order for us to receive salvation. Firstly, we thank you for your journey as torturous as it was.
We stand here having received this incredible phenomenal gift of salvation through your suffering. Through your torment and through your experience we are in salvation. We know we are saved by grace. Not because of our own doing, but it's because you died on the cross.
We have a great understanding of what this is. But I know Lord, that surely some of all children have no salvation, but it is not that they don't have a clear and a greater understanding of what this is. Some are not even safe.
So today as we start this journey. We want to lift it Harold and Nina's children. We lift up Hasina, Jordan, Darryl, Yusof, Nisa, Miriam, Muhammad, Abdul, Ibrahim. We put this entire group before you.
We petition the courts of heaven. That God, if anyone of these does not know you we are asking that you extend salvation to them. We pray for chance meetings encounters where the Holy Spirit would speak to individuals who don't know you Lord.
So that salvation that we enjoy, these beautiful statues that we enjoy can be extended to them too. I pray for the Holy Spirit to be element in their life. Give them the wisdom of seeing and understanding and hearing and speak. Petition for their lives that God may they find you while you are still near.
We send angels on assignment to bring the gift of salvation. To every single one of them we pray for these grandchildren Nassa, Miriam, Mohammed, Abdul, Ibrahim, we call on you.
We say receive the salvation that's not over from our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you, Lord, that when we pray, you hear us. We tell the enemy to let go of every single one of these. If there are any challenges they might be dealing with, I pray Lord and repetition that God, may you hear us and do for us that only which you can do.
We know it's your desire to see every single person saved. Because you send your son to die for all of us. So, Father, I pray that none amongst these will be lost.
If there's any who are struggling with their faith. I pray Lord for wisdom and understanding that made somebody reach them in the name of Jesus. I pray that this gospel, this good news will visit them and salvation can be extended to them.
You tell the enemy, get your hands off these children. You have no authority whatsoever on them. So on behalf of Harold and Nina, we stand in the gap asking our Lord Jesus Christ to now reach out.
So that salvation can be on offer for them. We pray Lord that if anyone is dealing with any sicknesses and disease. We extend yielding to them in the name of Jesus. Father, we thank you for Nadia and her group.
We lift up Sharon, Analia, Henry, Aisha, Rashid, Elijah and Makea. Lord we petition to for this group that God Almighty may you reach out. Send angels on assignment Father touch Rashid in the name of Jesus.
That's Henry, that's Elijah in the name of Jesus. Rescue this young man for Christ. That there will be warriors and soldiers for Christ in the name of Jesus, we pray Lord that none will be lost. That salvation is their portion. Repetition on the courts of heaven.
Whenever you sit, may you rule on their behalf. Thank you for protecting them from harm and danger. We know this generation is suffering from so many challenges. But God, we extend salvation to this group.
We are asking you, Lord, what she did on the cross, what she did on this week. May it reach them out. Even this week, we know a lot of them will go to church because it's Easter Sunday. I pray for every pulpit that may they bring a word that stands up the hearts of man to salvation. Let your spirit reign this week.
We know there are so many different agendas in churches. So many productions that go on during this time. But we know it's not about that it's about you dying on the cross. Salvation is bigger than any production. Any planning that can ever be done by any church, it's bigger than that.
And Father, we are praying this week that as many will have an encounter or a moment to be in church. I pray, Lord, that our children, when they come encounter with the Holy Spirit. May it be so strong that it will lead them into salvation.
Bless Sharon, bless Analia, bless Aisha, Makea in the name of Jesus. Say that they are healthy. That they are wholesome. That they are coming to Christ. Hear our prayers, sovereign God. We thank you, Lord, for your grace, for your sufficiency.
Father, as we remember our children this week. We are asking you even as we look forward to dedicating them back to you on Friday, we are asking you this week, Lord. This Holy week do something special for our children.
Let them be reignited in their souls and in their spirit for salvation. Whatever it is they're dealing with, break every yoke in the name of Jesus. Whatever the enemy is trying to do is subject it under the authority of the blood. Let this cross do its work this week in many of us and in our children. Father we know how the enemy plays.
That there is so much and so much deception going on, even with Easter. Even with remembering you, there is so much deception that is going on. Men and women who don't care about spiritual things. Pushing their agenda just to receive many.
I pray may you enlighten our spirits in the name of Jesus. Father, we hear even the White House is producing an Easter events. Men that don't care whatsoever about spiritual things, hijacking the plans just in order to deceive many.
I pray, Lord, that may you enlighten those who know this word. We come against every agenda. Even it looks like it's coming from Christ, it is not. And we pray, Lord, that God almighty both plans needed foil in the name of Jesus.
Thank you for this day you have given us. We are going to risk in it knowing that there is something significant and special that you have for us to do even today. So continue to open our eyes and our minds as we receive salvation. As we commemorate what you went through during this week.
I pray for healing for all of us. Emotional, healing, mental healing, spiritual healing, physical healing, that none amongst us is sick in the name of Jesus. Pray for seniors amongst us, continue to strengthen them. To protect their minds from all kinds of garbage, they are throwing at them in the name of Jesus.
Exonerate every single one of them in Jesus name. We thank you for your sovereign authority. We thank you for enduring the pain and suffering and torture so we can get to salvation. So, Lord help us this week to be holy for you are holy.
Help us to resist temptation so we can get to holiness. Help us to understand so we can value and treasure salvation. I pray for every single person here that God may you by your spirit continue to grow us mature us in the things of the Lord. For these children that we prayed for today, may this day something unique happens to them.
So that the journey and the process to salvation can begin. Repetition for them. Knowing Lord that your hands can reach out to anyone anywhere, at any given moment. So we pray for opportunities just to serve you.
We ask you now, Lord as we go through this day, bless every single one of us. Bless all of us in everything that we do. And we thank you for your goodness and your mercy. Now lead us not into temptation, continue to deliver us from the evil one for thy is the Kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever, Amen.
Brothers and sisters, if you were not on Bible Study yesterday, one of the things that we are going to do this week, we're going to pray for our children. This whole entire week. Next generation going to pray for them.
So if you can please text me your the list of the children or e-mail it at info@prayerworks.us. Then on Friday, on Friday, we're going to dedicate them back to Christ. And send it send, send the list, send the list and we're going to go through it.
Today we prayed for two groups. Tomorrow we'll do it again and we just because I realize we have so many children and so many grandchildren and we might as well just dedicated to them this week as we are going through this Holy Week.
So that salvation is they're portion too. And we're going to ask the Lord to reach out to every single one of them. So that this spirit that we are also enjoying, they also can enjoy. So please don't forget, send your list and I'm taking this week.
I'm going to be praying for all of them. Every single day in the afternoon I might print out this list, put it in my car, and whenever I get a chance, I'm going to pray for every single one of them.
So that salvation is the opposition, so that what we are enjoying right now, they also can enjoy. So please text me and send me the list. And then we can pick it up tomorrow ss we go through this Holy Week. And we get to Friday, we dedicate them to the Lord. Every single one of them and then so don't forget, this is important.
I know we are now we are all saved. We are devoting our lives to the Lord every single day we get on the prayer call. And I would love a situation where our children are joining us not because we are forcing them because they understand.
Sometimes we tend to forget them in these things because it's just us. We will pray for them. No, we want them to pray for themselves. To understand that this is their portion.
And maybe what we can do on Sunday on Bible study, we do Communion Bible study on and let's see if we can get as many as we can our children on that Bible study. So we all have communion and celebrate the resurrection of our we celebrate what the Lord did for us. Resurrection Sunday.
So that what we are enjoying, they get to enjoy too, Amen. Let us all have a wonderful day start of a great week. Live your life with expectation that the Lord can do anything anywhere, anytime. That we are on a collision course with faith.
That whatever it is that we desire, as long as we have faith, we have to live with anticipation that something is going to happen, Amen. So may the Lord bless you and equip you and give you wisdom, strength, knowledge, information.
May he carry your spirit with pleasure and pride, knowing that he died for you and I. May the Lord bless you.
