"Trust In The Lord With All Your Heart And Lean Not On Your Own Understanding"
Let's pray. Mother Jones, why don't you pray for us. Father God, we thank you for your grace, your mercy life, health and strength. We thank you for your keeping power. We bless your name right now, Lord, knowing that you are the great I am.
And with all that we are learning and who you are by your names Lord help us to use them for the glory to lift you up in all things.
Bless each and every person who's on this call as well as those that's connected to us and their families, and let us seek your face early Lord, knowing that you're in total control of everything that's going on.
And as we yield ourselves to you as willing vessels fit and ready for the masters use. We shall become more than conquerors in your word in Jesus name, Amen, Amen and Amen.
Let's open proverbs 3:3, no verse 5. Proverbs 3:5 then 2nd Corinthians 5:6. Then Psalms 37:33, then let's open Philippians. 4:19 ok.
And then let's start t with just this, alright. Somebody can read Philippians 4:19 for me. And my God will meet all your needs according to his riches, the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Hey, that's Philippians right, 4:19. Then Proverbs 3:3 says trust in the Lord, with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to him, in all your ways, not some, all your ways.
He doesn't say right or wrong in all your ways, whether right whether wrong in all your ways, submit to him and he will make your path what? Straight
In other words bring your mess, bring the good, bring the wrong, bring the right, submit it all and you make it what? Straight in other words, I'll make sense of it all. Whatever it is, bring it and I will make sense of it all.
And then the other one was so this was proverbs, right? And we know this my God shall supply all my needs, right, according to his riches in Glory, then 2 Corinthians 5 start from 6 says therefore, we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.
We live by faith not by sight. We are confident I say and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord, so we make it our goal to please him whether we are at home, in the body or away from it, for we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ.
That everyone may receive what is due them for the things done while in the body with the good or bad. Brothers and sisters every single person has a responsibility to do well.
The first principle that God gives humanity Genesis 6 I believe this is after Cain has killed his brother. God goes away, first he goes away in Genesis 3 where he stopped talking to humanity for a long period of time.
The next time he speaks to a human being. He is a killer who had just killed his brother. And out of that conversation that God has with the sinner we get the first principle. And that first principle.
Remember, he says to Cain why is your face looking the way it's looking? He says don't you know that when you do well you will be accepted. Doing well makes people accept you makes God accept you.
Now trusting in the Lord is part of doing well because you are going to make mistakes. So if our mistakes right? Generally, we can look at all our mistakes and say that's not doing well, correct because they're mistakes.
They’ve brought us to a place where we are either struggling or not doing well. But then God says bring all that right to me and I'll make your path straight. So in other words trusting in the Lord on our part and leaning not to our own understanding is the ultimate measure of doing well.
Because once you trust in the Lord, why are you trusting in the Lord? Because you don't know whether what you're doing is right or wrong. Again, what is the first original sin? What Adam and Eve did?
They access the knowledge of good and evil. That's the worst sin they had. They access good and evil and they were not supposed to access good and evil. So now in order to rectify this throughout the scriptures you have so many places where God is literally saying trust in me.
Bring everything, I'll make it straight. So doing well is not necessarily getting things right or wrong getting things right or wrong is the first original sin. But trusting in him and leaning not into our own understanding and in all our ways acknowledge him.
Then that's they doing well from our part. Now when we, when we look at remember I said I'm going to be everywhere with this. When we look at Jesus life, he shows up, right. And the first thing that Jesus did is the miracle at the wedding.
Now Jesus is very difficult to figure out because you say one thing here and they say something else. And it looks like a contradiction, but it wasn't a contradiction. Because he was dealing with revelation that is him.
And for we as a collective society, no one person can hold all the revelation that is there to be hold. Nobody I can’t do it. There's not my brain can only hold few things, Calvins, Veronicas.
This is why we have different preachers, different churches, different because Jesus revelation is too broad and too grand for any one person to have ownership to it. This is why remember when he is the bread of life, right?
Right on the Last Supper Jesus breaks his body. Which is the revelation and he gives it to many to show that none of you alone can handle this revelation that I am, so I'm going to break it apart to everybody.
So every single person can have one piece of bread, so that when we gather collectively, we then resemble the love that he is. Now the issue of trusting in the Lord and leaning not to our own understanding.
It’s simply saying there is too much revelation for me to handle alone. So I have to trust that God has the total loaf and at some point I'm going to sit at this table and eat and I'm going to sit on that table and eat.
But when I continue to walk and trust in him and leaning not into my own understanding at some point he's going to make all this so plain for you and I to understand alright.
Vee pretty much every morning she sends me a message. Maybe she probably watched it that morning and says man I think this is this is so encouraging. April sends the whole family a devotion.
We do devotion right. And once in a while I get a text message from North Carolina with a question about the scripture from Danielle and you talked to Mama Nina sometimes she gives you a word, right. All that his revelation from the body that Jesus brought and gave it to all of us.
That's why, he says, do this in remembrance of me. Why are we remembering him? We are remembering him because the revelation that he is in totality, we have to continue to get it because if we are to become the loaf that he is calling us to be.
We can't do that without his revelation and we can't do that without trusting God and leaning not to our own understanding. Because the moment you lean to your own understanding, that means you are going to try to make sense to a revelation that cannot be made sense by one person.
There has to be a collective. This is why we are called the body of what? Christ, because the I cannot say to the ear I have no need of thee. And then Jesus says we're two or more of you are gathered in my name.
In other words, where 2 of you are gathered with revelation cause you can't gather in Jesus name without revelation. Your experiences in life, you're trusting in God in life will ultimately give you a revelation of who God is.
Every single one of us here, we've seen God work in some way or shape or form. Maybe we needed something and it shows up. Maybe you were going through something and he shows up.
That revelation of him getting you out came because you trusted in the Lord and not leaning your own understanding. And now if I did that and Mother Jones did that and Calvin does the same thing, Veronica, Nadia and then when we gather.
We are gathering together a room of people that have revelation of who Jesus is. So you are bringing a piece of the loaf, and I'm bringing a piece of the loaf, Mother Mary is with the piece of the loaf, mother Jones with the piece of the loaf.
Now collectively we can see the body but we can't do that without trusting totally completely in the Lord and leaning not into her own understanding. The first miracle of Jesus performs is the wedding.
He says to his mother, why are you asking me to do this before my time? In as much as he's being talked about the miracle. Jesus is coming to marry the church. So, the first miracle has to be at a wedding where he is, there's the banquet.
He is pretty much acknowledging as much as you say to them, this is not my time yet for marriage or to understand this, because I'm being called to marry the church. So he is part of this ceremony, and on that first wording he turns water into wine.
Every time you see wine in the scripture, his spirit. So he changes that wording to a spiritual wording. That's why I always say if you are not, saved it's very difficult to understand what marriage is.
Because it was created by God for his purpose and for his reason and all the things that he wants to go through marriage. Hence the scripture says in Daniel that through marriage and through families, his Kingdom is passed from one generation to the next.
So every wedding he performs this miracle inasmuch he is showing us that I am getting ready for someday to marry the church. That's in John 1. No, no, that's Matthew, the wedding.
Now as he goes through his life he then meets different people in order to exemplify the revelation that he is. So the first one of the first people Jesus met is the woman at the well. He's a Sinner.
He is a Samaritan and we probably have shared a little bit history of the city of Samaria. First Kings 13 Samaria is founded because King Omri, son Ahab goes and marries Jezebel as a wedding gift he gives them some Maria.
Jezebel comes from Cydonia, which are the grandchildren of Cain. And Sadonia are the first people to invent the cross that eventually is perfected by the Romans to kill Jesus.
Jezebels ancestors are devil worshippers. And King Omri's son brings Jezebel into Israel and he gives them the hillside of Samaria as a wedding gift. From that day forward, witchcraft, idolatry, all kinds of stuff was founded in Samarian.
Now Jesus meets the woman at the well. She is Samaritan and she has 6 husbands. Which are pretty much the six detestable things that God hates. He deals with the woman and out of that, we get this scripture worshiping God in spirit and in truth.
Best one of the first very revelations that we can in fact a time has come, this is the hour now from now onwards we have to worship God in spirit and in truth. Now, what does this have to do with trusting the Lord and leaning not into all understanding?
Because brothers and sisters we can never the scripture says we can never know where the spirit comes from and where he is going. But you will see the evidence of it and just said wow he was here.
Now when he shows up. He does what he does. Pentecost Sunday, we gathered he showed up. He did what he did for whoever was there and their needs and what they needed to see or admit Jesus about.
Now on our end those who were planning. We had no idea while he was going to show up. But we are to trust in the Lord and not leaning to our own understanding. But in all our ways acknowledged that he is who he is.
And in the process people showed up. One testimony I shared a few days ago. The lady says for 20 years she's been in church in those twenty years, never at once has she ever experienced this. Now that's what happened on that Sunday but the preparation for that particular day, was not one week old.
The preparation for that, the preparation for that day, was over a span of two years of us doing whatever it is that the Lord was pushing us to do and staying consistent and waking up in the morning and praying and doing all these other things.
Unbeknown to us, we are trusting in the Lord and not leaning into our own understanding because there's the day that's coming in the future where something has to take place, but it's only going to take place if somebody is willing to trust in the Lord and lean not into their own understanding.
Because the revelation of Jesus is too big for one person to understand, to quantify, and to make sense of. Woman with the issue, it deals with the woman at the well.
Now look at what this woman says to Jesus, she says you guys worship a different way over there and here we worship a different way. And I'm sitting at our forefathers well, this is Joseph's well.
That was dug by Jacob in honor of Joseph because he thought he was killed by wild animal. So in his grief, he decided he was going to dig a well that was so deep, that generations and born to term will come and drink water from this world in remembrance of Joseph.
But Joseph was not there when he did that, he did this because he was grieving. But Fast forward to this era. You have a woman sitting there coming at broad daylight to draw water. How do you connect this revelation if you desire to make sense of it?
Grieving father, evil brothers, sold into slavery. A well dug out of grief, not out of necessity, out of grief. Generations lead of 14 it serves as a water source to a city that is a lot of witchcraft and idolatry.
You can make sense of it and on this particular day on broad daylight Jesus meets this woman. And if you read the previous chapter, it says Jesus said I have to go to Samaria. And what was the agenda about going to Samaria?
Meeting this woman, that's it cause after that, there's nothing else that we hear about the seed of Samaria that took place while Jesus was there other than this woman. Trusting in the Lord and leaning not into her own understanding.
Jesus meets a man who is blind for 38 years they've been taking him and putting him in the water source. And it says once in a while the spirit of the Lord will move and if you have friends then we have to push you in the water so that you get your healing.
Jesus, this is the method it has been like this for centuries. Water source you see it right there. So he comes for 38 years, 38 years he shows up to this well.
Now, how many people were sitting at this well or this particular event, waiting for this event to happen every year, how many people I want you to imagine if we had an ocean where if once in a wjile, once in a year.
The Angel will walk on this ocean and we ever get in, get healed. How many people will be sitting at the beach waiting to get into this ocean. Just take United States alone. Now this man is blind from birth.
He doesn't even know what this looks like and he's sitting every single day for 38 years. He comes to this well, nobody, nobody, nobody for 38 years had mercy on him, thought man, I would just this guy I've seen him over here every single year.
Last year we brought grandma and grandma got her healing. I'm here today, I'm bringing this one and this guy's still here. Nobody had a sense say, you know what I'm just going to push him.
Now, out of everybody sitting here, how does Jesus pick this one guy in the crowd. And he asking, what do you want? In the conversation with his disciples, he says 38 years was sinned.
Now this question is being asked from what place, understanding, that's what they understood that well if somebody sinned, that's why he is blind. Is it his parents? Is it him? What's going on? Jesus says nobody.
Listen to his answer, he says this man was born this way so that this day when I show up the light of the world he's going to see. This man was born this way. Now how if we are to look at this situation, can we make sense of this?
Just think about the context of how this is happening. How does this make sense? Can you imagine what this man went through? His parents went through but trusted in the trusting in the Lord and leaning not in her own understanding. In all your ways good or bad, acknowledge him. Then he's gonna make sense of it and make your path straight.
Now the problem with this particular scripture is that we trust the Lord with just the good things. Not the other stuff. The other stuff we want to fix. It's human nature. Now, here's how complicated this is, guys.
In order for us to live life, we have to be logical beings, correct? It's just normal. We have to be logical. You have to ask yourself, should I buy gas here or drive 30 miles to go get gas? You have to use your mind to do that. Should I eat that or should I eat this?
You have to, we have to use our minds, otherwise we will be in more trouble than we know. So the tendency is that because we are logical beings from birth to now, we get better at making decisions because as you grow as you experience as you learn as you study as you get exposed. Slowly but surely, you get better.
Now the greater the level of information and knowledge that we have sometimes the greater the level of faith that we will have in our hands. Because I always say the opposite of faith is not fear, the opposite of faith is too much information, too much information.
Now here's the other challenge in order to make decisions, we need what? Information. So you see where the fight is. In order to make decisions, we need information and we can't make it without, we can’t make decisions without information.
If Calvin wants to drive from North Carolina and land up here in Alabama, he has to have information road maps where he's going to get gas, where is they going to stop for food? All the things.
In order to make this journey, what safer, easy, comfortable. But in that we are being asked to trust in the Lord and not even lean at all to our own understanding and in all our ways acknowledge him.
Then he's going to make straight the decisions that you have made wrong or bad. Our fight in life is right in the middle of that. Most of our fighting life is right there. Our job is to get better at it.
Now, how do we get better at mastering this war that exists between us, totally trusting in the Lord and not leading into our own understanding, but also having the ability to make decisions.
And it's difficult, but yet simple. The word of God is a lamp unto thy feet not a flashlight, lamp, flashlight makes you see 10 miles ahead. Lamp makes you see where you are stepping.
Now this simply means that everything that we do no matter how simple or insignificant it seems there has to be an element of us that looks straight to the Lord. No matter how simple it is, it's a very difficult thing to do because we have to rely on these minds.
From pouring gas, to making coffee. Cause the goal of the spirit is to guide us in every step, not some steps, every step that we take. Lord's Prayer Jesus disciples comes to Jesus says teach us how to pray. Like John taught his disciples to pray.
Then Jesus says when you pray, this is how you ought to Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done in Earth as it is in heaven, right there is trusting in the Lord and leaning not into our own understanding.
Now, I've always said this every time you see an instruction in the scriptures, it’s there because we do the opposite. The scripture will not say, don't quench the spirit if there was no tendencies in us of quenching the spirit.
Now, there are certain things that are repeated over and over in the scriptures. And when you see those things, whether it's a principle or is something that comes along the same way but carry the same message like the scriptures we just read.
You then realize that there is a tendency in us that is being addressed because it is prominent in the way we think and function as human beings. We walk by faith and not by sight. How do you walk with your eyes blind unless somebody is directing your way.
Now, how do you trust in the Lord and not lean in your own understanding unless the spirit is guiding you in your thoughts. Now his word says it's the lamp to your feet. In other words, every step you take, you gotta do it with the scriptures because they light up where you are stepping.
So you then see this dichotomy that is in the scriptures that is pushing us away from reliance on our thinking and the way we see things. Because usually what we see in this world is literally a screensaver.
Literally, think about all these wars that are being fought and this has happened. Now I have a question, when you hear stuff on the news, do you believe that? Are there things that are left out?
For whatever reason, maybe do calm the society or how many times we have looked at a picture in a book or a see a commercial on TV of a burger and then you go to the place you ask for the burger and you see it.
You're like, this is not the same thing because it's a mirage. Now this is very interesting because I want us to really grasp these guys. How many of us, always want to put their best foot forward when you meet somebody, everybody.
You always want to be at your best, right. Let the same people live with you for two weeks. You're like, wait a minute is this the same person?
Now here's a question, when we put our best foot forward what are we doing? Let's just think about it. What is it are we doing? Are we being truthful? Or we are presenting something that we believe another person is going to like, correct.
So now how many of us have made decisions based on what we saw and we thought it looked good. Until you drive the car off the parking lot two weeks later, engine light comes on.
Now because it's human nature for every single one of us to present the best foot forward, right? But in that we are also doing something that the enemy wants us to be, deception. Now people are having to make decisions using their logical minds.
Based on what has been presented as the best. Until you examine and you realize that's not it and this is what we do. All of humanity does this. So when the scripture says trust in the Lord and lean not into your understanding.
The Lord knows this is how we function. That's why that scripture is in the place. That's why we also have this scripture that say all things will work together for those, look who loves the Lord, right.
If you love the Lord, that means you have to trust, you can't trust in the Lord and not love him. Those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose Lord's prayer let the Kingdom come and let your will.
So why are we being asked for God's will to be part of our prayer life. Because we have human will that is pushing for agendas. That's why we have that in the Lord's prayer that you have to pray this way.
Why? Because the will of God was not being done and executed in the Earth. That's why we have that, so when Jesus shows up and he says this is how you pray in other words, all the ways that you've been praying, it's great.
That if you pray from this point where you are asking God's will, that means you are trusting in him. Knowing that his will is perfect, and excellent. Jesus meets Nicodemus, Nicodemus shows up at Jesus place in the night, when nobody.
Now, why is he doing this? Because logically, he has examined the risk of being seen going to Jesus. He has also examined his status as the teacher of Israel. He is the PhD Doctor who knows everything about religion.
And he has looked at it and he says no way I'm going to be seen going to Jesus. So he comes at midnight and he says teacher I know what you are doing, says you came from the Lord. How do I get in on this? Why is he saying that?
Because just from that statement, we can deduce that this man did not trust in the Lord. He leaned a lot in his own understanding because his actions are proving as such. So when he gets to Jesus says, how do I get? And then Jesus says to you in order for you to experience it, you must be born again.
In other words, you have to be made anew and then he says you must be born of water to enter the Kingdom. But to see it you must be born of spirit, in other words, if you are going to enjoy this Kingdom.
Your reliance, my friend, should never be about what you see, what you know but rather entrusting the Lord. That's where the joy is going to come for us being in this Kingdom. Because if you can see it, there's no joy in it.
But when God surprises you and he shows up and he does something. Because again, remember the statement I said at the beginning. Everybody must grow, how do we grow? We only grow if we trust in the Lord.
Because once we trust in him, he's going to expose us to some things and when you are exposed, you gain information, knowledge, wisdom, understanding and you grow, isn't it amazing in our walk when a scripture you have read maybe long time ago.
All of a sudden becomes alive in your life and you actually see it. Like yeah, this is that scripture. I'm sure Calvin you knew God is a healer. All those years you're like, yeah, I know God is a healer.
But when that scripture says you experience it and you get cancer free diagnosis. The growth and I can testify knowing you that from that day to now, the man I have seen and what your desire in the things of the Lord and how you're pushing for righteous and all these other things.
From that day onwards, because of your experiences, you then grow from faith to faith. And the journey begins again on the next level. So I'm saying all this to say to us, I know we trust in the Lord. I know that. That's why we're all here.
But there's always another level to trust in in. And when that level shows up, we go back, we always go back. We revert back to that original. For example, we had Pentecost Sunday. People showed up, we worship God, right.
We plan another pinnacle Sunday. Let's say we plan another. We're planning another Pentecost Sunday, next year. What is our reference point? Things done right, things done well, things we need to get better at, things that we need to improve on, right?
That's logical, that's normal to do. We take stock, we figure out, ok, instead of renting equipment on the day of, maybe we should rent it the day before that and just make the sacrifice so that we don't have to be running around on the same day, right, all these things because it's logical.
And what is our expectation? Our expectation is based on the things that we have seen or that two place. Now, the reality is that God always has an agenda, same venue, same mechanism.
We probably do better this year and get all this other stuff in place before the day and just be sad instead of setting up that day and all that other stuff.
And we do all that and then we do all that instead of 50, 70 people that showed up. 2000 shows up and we sit down and have our experience just trying to figure out the logistics.
We're going to say, well, maybe next year, the year after this, we need to make sure that you know, we get a bigger venue and all this right, logically. Then we go to next year after that and 300 people showed up when we rented a 2000 sitter stadium.
That's how we function but when you see all these events, if you take all these 3 events. What is the reality that this is what God wanted compared to what we want, what we think is going to happen, right?
So we are always caught between this. So we could master at the first level, but once you go to that next level of your faith, Calvin, now you know how to believe God for your own healing.
But man, it's another thing to believe God for somebody else healing and then God puts him under your custodianship and say I want you to believe for him.
That the whole separate story altogether that demands that your level of trust in God, that in what he is putting you through. This is why sometimes if you pay attention to the things we say while we are in the spirit.
When you go back and you become a man again and you go like, what was I saying? Because the reality comes to examine you. Like you say that, how are you going to do it? With what? Trusting in the Lord and leaning not into our own understanding.
To close this. Abraham is the father of faith, right? That's why he's called the father of faith. God says to him, I want you to kill this boy that I give you and you know the journey we have had pertaining to his birth and the things that you had to endure, the level of belief in faith.
You are to trust me in this journey. That this is what I'm going to do now that this boy is here and that your level of trust in me has gone up higher. Let's go another step further. I want you to go up to Mount Moriah and when you get over there, I want you to sacrifice him.
How do you trust in the Lord and lean not into your own understanding. Cause now imagine Abraham's conversation in the back. Sarah is going to kill me if she finds out. All the people I left in my village following this God are gonna be like Abraham what was that all about?
This God you've been following all over the place and he's asking you to do what? But the man went on the journey. He doesn't even tell his servant what's up. Neither does he tell this boy what's up?
Because if he opens his mouth and tell Eliezer, this is my plan. I can guarantee you Eliezer, I would have probably killed Abraham before he laid his hand on Isaac. Like you are not doing this.
I'm calling Sarah right now that you are trying to take her only boy. He gets over there and literally man is about to go through with this. And God says what up? And now the scripter says there was a ram that was caught where? In the Bush, right?
Whose ram was it? You know, a lot of people come up with a lot of theories on this, but I just want us to think for a moment. Why was it caught up in the bush? How many years did it take to raise this ram?
Somebody had to make sure it was well fed and prepared and raised well and possibly not get killed last Christmas or Easter. So it had survived all these years and then to find itself of one day caught up in a bush.
At the same time that a man he had to fight his own mind and trust in the Lord and lean not in his own understanding and in all his ways, acknowledging him. And then God makes this straight up that at the right time, right moment, right mountain, right, ram.
That was raised by somebody, probably been somebody was looking for it, couldn't find it for months, I don't know and God makes that possible. Now, if it was left to Abraham to write this story in Genesis 17 would you have written this?
But the reason I'm calling Abraham is because I want us to understand the level of trusting in the Lord that we have to walk in if we are to enjoy this Kingdom, cause we now here in 2025.
Calling scriptures about Abraham that took place centuries ago in order to satisfy our belief in God in order to trust him and not leaning into our own understanding and in all our ways, acknowledge him.
It takes a lot of discipline to not trust your mind. Now look at these guys, God then says all them people who are disobedient and choosing not to walk by the spirit at some point I will give them over to their own thoughts.
I mean as a I want you to think about this guys as the punishment God says at some point. Yeah, children disobedience, I'm gonna give you over to your own minds. Wouldn't that be like, man, I get to do what I want now, right?
Situation yeah, right wouldn't this be where God says now you can finally get your own thoughts and do whatever it is that you head and that's it. But God says, as a form of punishment, I'll give you over to your own mind.
So which is the opposite of what, trusting in the Lord and leaning not into your own understanding? He says as a punishment there you go. Now think about the thoughts, the random thought that comes to our minds every single day.
You over there, the DMV, somebody says something and you can see. You can hear Paul says you know what? You should probably just slap this guy. You're over here at, at QVC CVS And somebody says something like, you know what I'm about to go nuts. And God says, I'll give you over to that as a punishment.
So which means that at the opposite end of this spectrum, I want us to really understand this. That trusting in the Lord and leading one to our own understanding is one of the greatest and the best thing we could ever do for our faith life.
But it takes discipline because in order to live we have to use our minds. You'll be running out of gas and you're like I have to go to the nearest gas station. And the Lord says, no, I want you to go up to the 5 miles down the road.
There's no way I'm going to make it. Right logically, it makes sense to stop it this one but it takes discipline to say Lord, alright, I'll drive next 5 and most times you drive next 5 guess what happens, mile 2, the car dies off. What do we do?
The saying all come man, I should have listened, right? Until somebody stops and helps you and then ends up having a conversation with you about getting their life saved.
I have come so that you have life, in life more abundantly. And part of that, the abundance life does not fall outside of Jesus coming. So in other words, we will never have abundant life when we trust our own minds.
It's only going to happen because of the one that came. Says I have come so that you would have life and life more abundantly. So in order to have life and life more abundantly, there has to be a total dependence and element of trusting in God.
That's why Jesus says pray that this will be done on Earth because your will is not what he is for and that's difficult to deal with and to trust. Because we still have to function, I'm hungry I need to eat. You need to make a decision, what you're going to eat.
But to trust the Lord while you need to eat. It's a whole different thing altogether. I almost died here in Birmingham, my first very first trip, food poisoning. Got some food and I heard the world, despise say, don't eat it.
But I'm like, I haven't eaten all day. I was in church all day, and now I just go to the hotel. I have this food and I gotta eat it, I'm hungry, I can't go to bed hungry. It's 11:00 PM so like, do not touch this food.
There's no microwave to warm it, don't touch it. I ate it, almost died, fainted in church. But to trust in the Lord and lean not on our own understanding. It's a very challenging concept, not because we can't do it, but because our minds most times are in the way.
So Paul tells us, be he transformed by the renewal of. This is why I love God so much. He doesn't give you a problem and not give you a possible solution or the solution. That this word will transform your logical mind.
So that you can trust me and not lean into your own understanding. That's why reading scripture, that's why Bible study. That's why I always say I don't like the idea of seasonal Bible study. What do you want to do this season that you are not studying? Use your mind.
That's why it's called daily bread. Because Jesus says this is my body. I'm going to break it and I'll give everybody a single piece of my revelation. So that the totality of who I am can be found in everybody.
So when you come together the whole loaf can be seen. So trust in the Lord, lean not to your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him and he is going to make straight things that are not straight.
Bring everything to the Lord, even the things that you think have solutions for, bring it to the Lord. We tend to bring things that we don't have solutions for but even the ones that you think you got it.
Say Lord there it is, I'm trusting you and I'm not leaning on my own understanding. Just going to keep acknowledging you, Amen. I hope this challenges us to get better in our thinking and to get bearing submitting our thoughts to God, good or bad.
Because again, the reason I'm saying this, the reason I'm teaching on this is because most times when you start loving the Lord and doing things for him and working with him, you are going to be asked to do unreasonable things.
It looks totally unreasonable but you're going to have to trust the Lord cause you will miss the mark a lot of times if you don't trust him. Especially when he starts using you to help other people. Because you hear him say hey, pray for that one and you will like hey, in the supermarket, at the register?
You know, right. If you are endeavoring to do anything for God, if God is giving and we have already just this is a carry over from last week. When God start trusting you, He's not trusting you with his spirit if you have the tendency of leaning to your own understanding.
He's trusting you because he wants you to trust in him back. Because I'm going to ask you to pray for people. Quick story, then we go. My pastor from Zimbabwe told me this one.
He's in business class seat 9A. Sitting next to him is Richard Branson to his left. The Great Richard, you know, Virgin Atlantic Airlines. Sitting to his left there's another guy on the aisle seat.
The guy keeps looking at him because he's like, why is he looking at me this way? I guess he is recognized him. Now they bring mail bags of letters to Richard Branson to him on the plane because he's supposed to read it.
That's his reading time with going through mail while he's flying from UK to United States. So he says to you, sorry my name is Richard Branson. What's your name? You know, I'm sorry. I'm going to be doing a lot of this reading of these letters on my way to the United States.
So I'm just going to apologize in advance because there's going to be a little shredding and throwing papers away, you know? So just bear with me, so, like no, sorry, no problem.
You know, may the Lord bless you, great. The guy who's sitting over here then stands up, he says I have to ask. Aren't you? Aren't you Bishop Tudor Bismarck.
He says, yeah, that's my name because they're all you have to pray for me. And he's like, oh, ok but you know, I'll pray for you when we land.
No, you have to pray for me right now. Now business class Richard Branson, the owner of Virgin Atlantic, is flying on his plane. He's sitting over here, going through his papers.
He's listening to this conversation and he’s like, who is this guy? This guy is asking you to pray for him and he wants to pray for him. So he says, ok, I'll pray for you. Right there in the business class, he kneels down this man.
So he said I'm trying to be gentle so I don't cause, so I will just say a nice little prayer, you know, keep it quiet. He says the man grabs my hand. He says I have seen you pray for people.
This is not the way you pray for people. I want that kind of prayer that I've seen you pray for that's what I need right now for what I'm going through.
He said Zee in that moment, once I trusted once, I let go of where am I, who is sitting next to me, what's happening, I'm 30,000 feet up in the air.
I'm in business class, all these people who supposedly to be somebody. Says I let go of that says in that moment this spirit hits me so hard, says I went on. Says I'm talking about spit everywhere, sweating you name it, I went in.
Says when I was done and I said Amen, says everybody was quiet. Even Richard stopped opening his mail and he says I sat on my seat and now I become human again and the mind kicks in.
Says I feel like I need to apologize to him for what just happened. Says, but then the Lord says why?
Says and in that moment I just folded my arms, took my blanket and I fell asleep. Says but the thing that happened is right before we landed Richard woke me up he’s like I'm not the one to believe in God.
But whatever happened back there when we had just, I want to know that. I want to know that, how do and it's like, here's my phone number if you need me and call me.
Now two years go by from this particular day, 2 years go by. He never phoned him, they exchanged numbers. He never phoned him. He never phoned him and just say, what do I call Richard Branson for? What do I want from this billionaire?
So he just went on his way, he went on his way. They met at the at the airport in Johannesburg in the lounge and immediately he, recognizing he's like Tudor. How come you never called me?
And Bishop was like, because I never needed anything that was worth a billion dollars and he says, well, I need you. And today I need you to pray for me. Now again, I'm sharing this story to say, I mean, when you when you kind of just look at it, right.
I don't know how many of us would stand in the business class with all these many people and raise the roof out of the plane on a Boeing 377 and speaking tongues and all kinds of stuff.
But I can't imagine how many people from that class, whatever it is that left saying, man I think I'm somebody, but I don't think I'm anybody. But again, it comes from trusting again, I'm saying these guys because this is a lesson for all of us for what's coming.
The more the Lord starts using you, the greater the things you will be asked to do that are unreasonable, it's not your job to understand them. It's your job to say, Lord, I'm trusting and so be it.
You hear him say, hey, I want you to adopt that one and you're like what do I have to give? Says that's not for you to decide. His supplies seed to the sower. He doesn't supply seed to somebody who is not willing to sow.
It's only a person who has made a decision that I am going to be that he then says I will supply you seed, not you don't have to go find it. I will give you what you saw. But being given what to sow does not come without trusting in the Lord and not leaning into your own understanding,
Because every single person that will saw anything, whether it's time, money or whatever it is that you will sow. You are not going to sow knowing exactly what you're going to reap back.
Nobody ever plants an apple tree and says, oh, next summer it's going to be 1000 apples here. You don't know that. But God says I will give you the seed to sow. If you trust in the Lord and lean not into your understanding.
So as we go, as the Lord uses you in your different projects and things that you have to, you will see him start pushing you to do certain things. I want you to lean in and trust and he will give you what you saw.
That's where the improvement and the quality of our life changes as believers not by do not by getting our quality of life changes when we decide to sow. Because in that same scripture says you give seed to the sower and food to the person who's sowing.
Because I can't ask you to soar and you don't eat anything. So trust in the Lord, don't lean into your own understanding, especially things that looks unreasonable.
And you know it's the Lord, just say, Lord, I don't know. I'm going to do this, but I'm going to do it ok. Mama Nina can you pray for us, Ma?
By the God the name of Jesus, we thank you for this day, Father. Father, we thank you because you in this day and you and every day Father.

All we have to do depend on you. All we have to do is like count our blessing, Father. And count our blessing, Father God, we count every blessing that you do for us every day.
We count every breath that we breathe, although we run out of numbers, Father God, but we thank you that we couldn't breathe without you Father God.
We thank you for keeping your hands on us, Father. Father God, we thank you that when all said and done and we say thank you, Father.

But quick quickly, before we go, ma’, let's play for Sarge. Heavenly Father, we place this wonderful soul before you. You know who he is, we know the journey that he's been on. It's treacherous, challenging but yet you have made him who he is today.
Father, we take Sarge and place him in your hands. You know every square inch of his body and where he rests, you know where he is right now. You have no problem whatsoever locating any one of us.
Physically, emotionally, mentally, you know where we are. By your stripes, we are healed. By your stripes, Sarge is healed and pray for the renewal of strength in the name of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
We pray, Lord, for grace to abound, peace to abound, strength to abound, wisdom to abound every broken place made straight.
We submit before you all the broken places and all the good places, and we place them before you and say God, we are trusting you to make this road straight for Sarge.
Pray for Mama Nina and for all that she has to do, from the driving to all the little tangible things. Pray for strength and grace. Pray for energy for the weary, that God made all our seniors amongst us have graceful lives, graceful.
